I like Japan hand-made soba so much

BTW, next month is my turn to travel to kansai
I have change all my previous plan
kyoto -> miyama -> amanohashidate  -> ine -> kinosakionsen -> takeda -> osaka

why?
bcos i found tateyama kurobe alpine route open on the date i travel
going there for this
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

so my final plan will be
kyoto -> takashima -> kaga -> kanazawa -> toyama -> tateyama kurobe alpine route -> hida -> osaka

count down mode on rclxm9.gif

hi guys, im going to Tokyo for 7 days (will be around Tokyo and Hakone/Fuji only)

do i need to buy the Tokyo Metro/Toei Line Unlimited 3 days pass? if 7 days, means i need to get 2 pass? any advice? thanks.
*
No need.
Plus Tokyo Metro pass not cover Hakone and Fuji

You just need Suica or Pasmo and Odakyu Fuji Hakone Pass

How to get Fuji Hakone Pass, please do homework.

if just purely city attractions for 7 days (eg. Asakusa, Akihbara, Roppongi, Shinjuku, Ginza, etc), will the Haneda Airport's Tokyo Subway 3days pass (1500 yen) useful and save money?
*
If used alot of metro only worth the money. Otherwise just used Suica or Pasmo.
This Metro 3 days not easy to get. You need buy exchange order at Malaysia first. Almost similar to JR rail Pass. Used the ezchange order to get this pass at Airport or Major Station.
You cannot buy this pass directly at Tokyo.

QUOTE(milky.way @ Mar 27 2016, 01:00 PM)
Hi all,

I will be travelling to Hokkaido for the first time in this August, summer season and would like to seek for opinion here. As I will be travelling with my mum & she loves flower, so I will be bringing her to Furano & Biei area.

Should I make a day trip to Furano & Biei or should I stay a night there? What are the interesting places to cover at Furano & Biei apart from Lavendar farm? How to travel in between Furano & Biei? Any night activities to spend there?

Cuz my mum is already 50+ and I don't want to make the trip rush, so I'm considering to stay a night there at Furano or Biei. I'm thinking whether should stay at Furano or Biei? Has anyone visited there during summer? Mind to share your experiences?

Thanks & have a nice day. smile.gif
*
I been Hokkaido 53 times. Summer experience only 6 times only....LOL
Hokkaido summer doesn't suit me. Winter are my Pros side. 42 trips Experience.

Summer at Furano & Biei can see Lavender + Sunflower + full of colorful flower.
No need overnight at Furano or Biei. Just Go from Morning and back to Sapporo at Evening.
If got JR Hokkaido Rail Pass. Just take earliest JR Limited Express ''Super Kamui'' to Asahikawa Station. Then change to JR Furano Line to Biei Station & Furano Station.
Kami Furano Station - For Sunflower Farm
Naka Furano Station - For Lavender + Tomita Melon House
Furano Station - Furano town. Can get all Furano product here.

Don't forget go Tomita Melon House. The Best thing you can found at Furano. The Melon + Melon Ice Cream + Sweet Corn.....it just so wonderful.
The Sweet Corn must eat ''Raw''. It so sweet , It must eat ''raw'' drool.gif drool.gif

Need some expert opinion for ppl who been to Hakone? I am staying in Gora, is it better to do the model route clockwise or counter-clockwise i.e. Yumoto-Gora-Lake Ashi-Gora or Yumoto-Lake Ashi-Gora? Worth it to miss the Tozan railway if I do Yumoto-Lake Ashi Gora?

I'm worried that i will return back to Gora quite late (~6pm) and didn't fully enjoy my Ryokan (if i do Yumoto-Gora-Lake Ashi-Gora)

As a Pro
I always go counter clockwise direction.
Got a reason why must go counter clock. Going Hakone one of biggest reason are see Mt Fuji. There are 2 spot that can capture Mt Fuji most beautiful angle. One at Cable Car, one at Owakudani. This 2 spot are nearer to Gora. So counter clock will be most wise. If morning this 2 spot weather are shit. At afternoon you still can go again by using clockwise direction at Togendai.... 2nd chances.

If you starting at Hakone Yumoto using clockwise direction means u reach Owakudani and cable car section at last part and evening. If weather shit. You dont evwn have any 2nd chances anymore.

Another reason are from Hakone Machi Ko to Hakone Yumoto route are more into forest side. If using couter clockwise rpute I will reach at Afternoon. I using those tree as my shade whwn visit Hakone jinja shrine.

Ok noted. But i think the Ropeway between Sounzan-Owakudani-Ubako is closed for now due to volcano activity. Only Ubako-Togendai section partly re-opened.

I think i'll just have to adjust my timing and take 7.27am Romancecar rather than the next available Romancecar at 8.53am.
*
Now actually not a great time to visit Hakone. Because that 2 most beautiful spot was stop by Volcano activities.
These few month I more recomemded people go Lake Kawaguchiko more.

thanks guys for the info!

Another question... I have decided to drive around Hokkaido for three days after arrival from Msia. Then take train/shinkansen to tokyo (6 days). I am quite confused about JR East-South Hokkaido Rail Pass / JR East Pass / Japan Rail Pass validity in Tokyo area. Should I able to use a single pass to travel most of the places in Tokyo including to Narita Airport?

JR East-South Hokkaido Rail Pass (6days)
https://www.jreast.co.jp/e/pdf/southhokkaido_press_e.pdf

Japan Rail Pass (7days)
http://www.japanrailpass.net/en/about_jrp.html
*
3 days at Hokkaido. 6 day at Tokyo.
Seriously like this better don't go Hokkaido.
You should separate this 2. Join them together = waste of money + waste of time.

i will suggest you put more time in Hokkaido, there are many beautiful places, eg hakodate, Noboribetsu, otaru, Sounkyo Onsen and more
MY do not have direct flight to Hokkaido, so meaning you have to spend more on transport
suggest u to take domestic flight, save time. from Tokyo to Sapporo take about 8 hours+ by train
and JR pass is useless in Hokkaido and Tokyo, domestic flight can be cheaper if u book early

if you only put 3 days in hokkaido, suggest you just dont go. waste time and money
*
Now AirasiaX have direct flight from KL to Sapporo already.

What should I do now at the ropeway part?
I will be traveling from Kyoto to Hakone. What time do you all suggest me to start moving from Kyoto?
*
I will take earliest train. Most people still sleeping inside train.. Very quiet ride. Morning sunrise view just perfect.
Can Refer to Page1
Nagoya to Iseshi + Toba + Kashikojima Journey Link.
Got some picture on shinkansen early morning ride.

Ropeway part will be taking Shuttle Bus link between Sounzan Station and Ubako Station Vice Versa.

hi guys... anyone can explain the usefulness of JR Pass inside tokyo? does it covers alot travelling within toyko area (Disneyland and narita airport especially) ?
*
JR rail pass are very useless in this 4 city.
Tokyo
Nagoya
Kyoto
Osaka.

At Tokyo JR rail pass only useful for 3 line only. JR Yamanote Loop line and JR Chuo Line and JR Yokosuka Line.

Disneyland nop but Narita Airport yes.

From what I understand, JR Pass only worthy if travelling cross region. If staying in one place, pretty useless. The card such as suica pasmo icoca is better. Plus if u bring the card home, u can give to ur friend who will be travelling. So they dont have to buy new card since it isnt registered. Maybe can ask to pay u the 500 yen + balance laugh.gif
*
Nonono.
Except that 4 city only.
The rest are all JR. Entire Kyushu and Hokkaido and Shikoku are JR train except city tram and metro. Entire Japan East side are JR train. Fukushima, Sendai , Morioka , Aomori , Yamagata , Akita....all JR except Sendai Metro
Entire West also JR except Hiroshima tram

Tokyo are totally rulez by Metro and Keiyu and Odakyu.
Nagoya are rulez by Meitetsu and Kintetsu
Kyoto are rulez by Kintetsu and Metro and Keihan and Hankyu
Osaka are rulez by metro and Keihan and Hankyu and Kintetsu

If crash with China holiday or Taiwan Holiday. USJ will full of people. Even weekdays.

If you want to fully utilize all the stuff in USJ. Better buy express pass.

hi, i will arrive in tokyo haneda at 1030pm, plan to straight away take willerexpress bus at midnight to osaka, but afraid could make it.

as the latest bus is at Shinjuku Station (24:10 departure)Ride overnight: Momoyamadai(arrival) ((Next day)07:25 arrival) ⇒ (Osaka)WBT Umeda (08:00 arrival)⇒  UniversalStudioJapan (08:40 arrival)
do sifu think we can get on the bus on time? hehehee

Risky. Any delay or mass crowd at Haneda Airport will killed you. Don't make your vacation looks like Amazing race.
So stress and so risky.

I suggest you take Next day morning Bus or stay one day enjoy Tokyo city then take midnight bus to Osaka.
If Choose staying one day at Tokyo, I got alot of ''How to spend a day at Tokyo'' plan for you.
