QUOTE(big1 @ Feb 27 2016, 11:24 AM)
hello. i have roughly worked out on my plan. 6th april = day 1
6th april - sakura (around tokyo if still available ) /tokyo tower/ museum/shrine/akibahara ( priority in that order, and flexible)

7th april (thu)- disneysea
8th april- disney
9th april ( sat)- osaka ( for sakura if any)
10th april - mount fuji
11th april - tsukiji market ( closed? ) then maybe sightseeing at shibuya crossing
12th april- free and easy
13th april- narita airport.
feel free to comment.

is the trip to mount fuji and osaka feasible?
*
April 9 does't not making any sense and super Wasting money. Purposely run to Osaka just for 1 day and back to Tokyo again.
Replaced that non making sense plan with going Hakone on 9 & 10 going Lake Kawaguchiko.

Plus.
Can't just you quote all you want to reply in one post? Why want to making 2 post. Wasting space.

QUOTE(AeronBabe @ Feb 28 2016, 12:11 AM)
Just wanna share my experience in Jan that day.

Went to skii resort at Yuzawa prince hotel. Upon arrival, me n my (5) friends walked to the lobby, then was admiring the paintings on da wall, while my friend checked us in. Then my gf saw under my shoe got some paper, when i lifted, it was a stack of japanese yen. 10,000 yen x7 pcs. I asked all my friends whether they dropped their money, none said
yes. Completely didnt do any thinking, we directly go to receptionist n return the 70k yen. after we go in our room, think think. feel abit regret or not. No regret not human doh.gif

Next day we checked to see anyone claimed the money, they say a bus driver came to claim it last night shortly after we returned it.

5 days after that we went to Fuji Q highlands, my gf lost her iphone6s in the park. (we actually didnt knew it was left in the park, because we went alot places after that only realize
her phone missing). After searching all the places, only go back to the themepark, as it was our first destination at Fuji. Luckily the information center said they found it. We still had to verify that is her phone.
I guess i now believe in karma  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif

*edit: next morning, my friend found 12k yen in his rented trouser pocket when we went to rent gears for skiing for the day. this time he belanja us makan lunch with it, hotel food expensive  cry.gif
*
Your friends should give back that 12k Yen. Shame on your friend.
Japanese won't steal anything even is very expensive thing. Their moral level was very high and well educated since pre-school. They been teach found anything not belong must return to lost and found section.

I been at Japan more than 12 years. Lost 6 - 8 times Wallet , over 20 times on Phone. Always can get back. So far lost rate 0%
Mall , Airport , Themepark , Restaurant , garden

This I strongly agree. Was in Osaka last year, I didn't know that I dropped 3 notes of 100,000 yen until a young couple chasing me up and passed it back to me.
Thank God.

Hi all,

I've bought tickets to KIX early October, unfortunately too early to see autumn leaves, didn't plan properly before buying sad.gif

The plan was to stay in Osaka and Kyoto for around 10 days, but since we can't see autumn leaves anymore, we thought of just staying in Osaka and Kyoto for just a few days then the rest in Tokyo, OR maybe just ignore Osaka/Kyoto and just go for Tokyo.

I'll probably go for 2-3 days in Osaka/Kyoto then the rest in Tokyo, because I still wanna see the deer in Nara Deer Park laugh.gif

What do you think? Please advise

Thanks!

1st time to Japan?

Sushi starting 2000 - 5000 Yen

Luxury food such Kobe beef or Michelin star restaurant are stating 12000 - 40000 Yen

QUOTE(moronic @ Feb 29 2016, 06:49 AM)
Hello,

I am headed to JP end 19th Mar - flying into Centrair. I plan like below is it ok: I think mostly towards end of the trip only can see Sakura.

19-20 - Nagoya
21-23 - Takayama & Shirakawago
23-25 - Kanazawa & Toyama
26 - Nagashima Spaland + shopping at Nagoya
27 - return

But i have some ques:

Shirakawago and Gokayama is very similar, do you know which is preferable?

Anyone uses B-mobile before?

I will use JR Takayama Hokuriku pass (5days), those days in Nagoya is meguru or daypass. Is there any other pass that covers Centrair to Nagoya or only Meitetsu available

+ i think first few days coincide with spring equinox (public holiday) should i be worried of terrible congestion? Plan to reserve seats for Wide View Hida

Thanks alot
*
Similar on house design only but landscape are totally different. Gokayama are more peaceful. Then follow up Ainokura , Suganuma

Centrair only connected by Meitetsu only. Spring Equinox holiday won't making any congestion. If reserve seat coach are full then goes non reserve seat coach.

Anyone been to Umihotaru by the Tokyo Aqua Line?

Seems like the view there is good, wonder if it is worth going.

Done alot of times. Bridge only half way, then will goes underground. Bridge was boring like normal driving.

View at Umihotaru are good, watching ship crusine and best view are watching aircraft landing at Haneda.

I beg to differ. We are not discussing on how to book hotels or airbnb. We are discussing on an issue which is affecting travelers to Japan and some levy should be there. If this is not allowed, then all posts related to restaurants or food to be moved here: https://forum.lowyat.net/Food&Flavours. Same logic.
*
Too much. Entire Page 61.
It may not be removed as guide telling people Airbnb are not accept in Japan anymore. But futher discussion should not continue. This airbnb issue already discuss 1 month ago. It have enough info telling people stop using airbnb at Japan.

If I not stop it , it will goes 62 63 64 and more... Today M4A1 come , tomorrow another come , it will keep coming same reason. Then lost control like old currency disaster. Everyday full of people come asking same again.

Removed or stay depend on Mod hands now.

Ok. Enough with airbnb.

Do u guys think enough to cover Shirakawa-go and Takayama in a day?

I will be staying at Kanazawa, from there will take early morning bus to Shirakawago. Since nothing much to see except scenery and village house, i am thinking not to waste more time and stret go to Takayama after that by bus around 12 noon.

Will go back to Kanazawa around 4pm.

Is it too ambitious?
*
Can be done. Since you not interest on Takayama street part.
There are some Takayama street picture at Page 1 for refer.

Really a waste if no enjoy Takayama slowly.

Japan having 2 law.
One is Hotel-Ryokan Law which is controlled by Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare. Hotels and ryokans, even hostels are required to pass requirements for sanitary and particularly emergency evacuation such fires, earth quakes and etc. Facilities are inspected with government officers periodically.

Another law is for apartments and the real-estate leasing, controlled by Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. Even though the facility is a furnished apartment, it is unable to provide amenities. Tenants should be aware of the risk of uncertain situation. Learn about the emergency exit, the emergency shelter and the specified open place to evacuate. (Earthquake)

Apartment leasing with furnished has been limited with weekly or monthly agreement. [[2nd Law]] Airbnb apartments are showing over night rates like hotels. [[1st law]]

Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare & Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism having big fight. Prime Minister Abe still no give his final answer. Either ban it or fit it under which law

If Airbnb put into 1st Law....Host of Airbnb at Japan must upgrade thier house into Hotel Standard, must earthquake proof , fire proof , must have alot emergency evacuation. Every week periodically inspection by govt. This will cause host million of Yen. Alot Airbnb host will choose tutup kedai~~~

If Airbnb put into 2nd Law.....You need go through Apartment leasing with furnished agreement. Like a landlord rental a properties to you. You need pay deposit of 2 month rental , even you just stay 1 week. Sign paperwork at lawyer firm which saying you are rental this property. This also cause airbnb host tutup kedai.

Or Abe genius come out with 3rd law

Please Help me plan.
I think i will not be spending whole day at shirakawago. Enough visiting one or two village house and the scenery. Then i still  have half day free.
I don't want to return to kanazawa yet since the next day i will have whole day exploring Kanazawa.
What is the best thing to do half day in Takayama?
*
Enjoy the Takayama Ancient street slowly, Enjoy the food and snack. Must try the Okuhida Beef at Takayama.
Visit Takayama only survival Edo period house. (Takayama Jinya)
Visit Shiroyama Park.
Visit Sakurayama Hachiman-gu Shrine.

Around 5 or 6pm at Takayama Nohi Bus Station taking Bus back to Kanazawa.

Option 2
From Osaka take JR to Shinjuku. Spend a day there (20 April). Then travel to Hakone (21 April) and Kawaguchiko (22 April). Then come back to Shinjuku/Tokyo on 23 April.

Welcome any better suggestions. Thanks!
*
Stay at Option2. More time to Relax energize your self for next day.

If choose Option 1 (not really recommemded)
From Shin Osaka station take Shinkansen to Odawara Station. Then change to Odakyu Romance Car from Odawara Station to Hakone Yumoto Station. No need go all the way to Shinjuku.

Seafood always stay at market. Cheaper and more fresh. Those seafood market once you buy it, can direct process on spot.

Always remember, Japanese food in buffet style always suxk. Japanese food are to made fresh infront you. I never eat Japanese cuisine in Buffet. Never go KL Jogoya.
