That is always the biggest problem with M'sian models of all HW phones I had used. Firmware is either outdated and updates are very slow

You can download the latest firmware from XDA
Flashing new firmware is easy. Just download the firmware file
Extract it till you see a dload folder. If you don't see it, just copy the extracted files into a folder named dload
Copy this dload folder onto ext SDcard
Boot the phone into flashing mode : switch off. Than press both vol up/vol down and power button simultaneously. Once you see the boot up, release the power button only. When you see the firmware being update than letgo the vol buttons
Normally all your data will remains . It would just take 2-3 minutes to complete flash/update the firmware

wow! actually that was not bad bro! not bad at all. on par with all other phones out there. how bout the bokeh / low-light / action photos? to me those 3 things is all i care about. especially action photos. i hate my note 5 because cant seem to capture action scene really well. always end up blurry.

Was disappointed while i was playing with the camera in my living hall yesterday night. Lightening was not as ideal. Had carry high hopes with the camera and when the pictures came out looking washed out I was not happy. Any way I will test more on that.

I tried but it will change the wallpaper of the lockscreen and not the wallpaper of the smart cover window...

Try putting your own images n delete those you don't need in the Magazine folder?

Firmware downloads - just find one that matches your phone model. If Msian set look for NXT-L29
Incompatible firmware will fail to install - don't worry about trying it

hmm, i downloaded from this xda page too. do you know what the different with the common/ eu/ normal ? Previously i downloaded the [NXT-L29C185B160] common link but incompatible.

I guess is different regions ? You had tested trying to flash that and failed ?
One very important thing this HW firmware you must be sure is a complete download - the update app itself should be in the region of 3.0+ GB. I had experienced before thinking my download was OK but was actually an incomplete download though I could extract the zip file - that was in previous Mate 7

yup, i download and extract the update.app which is 2.0gb + then put inside my dload folder in ext card. but failed when i flashed in fastboot mode.

2 GB only ?? My updateapp itself is 3.08 GB !! ( on firmware version b165).
I don't think the China set has so much difference vs international set. Try download it again as likely an incomplete download
