Uncle Benny , Can You Do Me A Flavor ?
Can U Try Charge Your Mate8 With Aukey QC2.0 3 Pin See Does It Support Quick Charge Function ? if Not Quick Charge How Long It Take To Charge Full.. Cause I Wanna Get ONe as well
Cause I Read AT XDA Forum , Someone Said That QC 2.0 Charger Dont Works On Mate8 , Only Stock Charger Is The Best..
*
Will do that but i needed the phone to drain down to at least 5% first . That could take 2 or more days as i rarely use the phone much daily

I choose phone memory...Im actually not sure what the default storage meant.. Does it mean the app will be installed on memory card if we set memory card as default storage?
*
If you choose ext sdcard as default storage most app will auto install onto ext sdcard including its data files. Great for gaming app. Even whatsapp n all its data goes to ext sdcard. You need to try to see which app will not installed onto ext sdcard

Just play the phone. The build quality is damn solid and nice! Performance is extremely smooth! For the price of RM 2,099 for 32GB, 3 GB RAM and RM 2,399 for 64GB, 4 GB is a great price for such quality build phone.

1st impression I really like it! and finally Huawei remove the top black shadow effect at main home screen.
+1. Very true. Sadly HW is still a not well accepted brand here. Most users are more comfortable with Apple, Samsung, HTC or Sony
This Mate8 is now my second favorite phablet after LG V10. The S7e is in 3rd place.

Will it damaged my phone if I use oppo fast charger to charge my mate 8?

Oppo vooc charger
Input 100-240v~ 50-60hz 0.7A
Output 5v=5A

As compared to mate 8 fast charger
Input 100-240v~ 50-60hz 0.5A
Output 5v=2A or 9v=2A

I seriously donno what those numbers mean...
*
You will not get any fast charging from the Oppo charger. Their fast charging ONLY works on Oppo phones whose battery is 6 pin vs 4 pins of other smartphone batteries
No, it will not spoil your phone. You will just get normal slow charging

waiting for ur test result on Aukey Qc2. 0 for mate8
*
Mate8 level still high at 40% now
I had never tested charging to full from low yet
But I estimate it will take more than 2+ hours
Definately unable to match HW supplied fast charger which I also had never bother to use too

I can only tell bottom one more on warmer color. Both had no issue to me just white balance slight different.

Wanna know got pink tint issue or not, snap on white paper then you will know.
*
Right ! Do a snap on a piece of white paper
HW will replace free a new sealed set if they accept it as a defect. It is their policy - no repair but a new replacement for problematic phones
No harm trying.

This is a quick simple guide on how to unlock the phone bootloader

Make sure you had register a Huawei ID first. You can do it from the phone or at its website at : https://uniportal.huawei.com/accounts/regis...Register&nls=en
For phone number - just put in any 8 digit fictitious number ( I use 12345678)

After ONLY 14 days than go to :

Log in your HW ID and go to this site :
http://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin.php?id=hw...ad&mod=list#_=_

Choose unlock bootloader tab at top right
You will than be guided how to get your unlock code
For Product ID, use dialpad and dial *#*#1357946#*#*
You will get a 8 digit Product ID

Follow the steps thereafter and you will get a 16 digit number UNLOCK CODE

Switch off phone
On PC, go to folder where you had install the SDK/Fastboot commands : browse to the folder android-sdk-windows/platform-tools : on notebook press shift and right bottom of touchpad and select Open command window here
You will go straight to ms dos mode directly to the folder

Switch off phone. Connect it to PC. Press vol down n power simultaneously and phone will boot to Fastboot/Bootloader mode
Type in following commands :

fastboot devices ( you will see phone detected with a series of numbers)
fastboot oem unlock xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ( xx...xxx is your 16 digit unlock code)

Reboot phone and your phone will be 100% wipe clean and bootloader is unlock
Be WARNED you will see an annoying message about bootloader being unlock and phone is now unsecure before the actual HW boot splash screen. This warning message I noted crops out only on Marshmallow phones ( Nexus 6P too) and never in Jellybean or Lollipop firmware

Download the slim version of Android SDK here :
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9a0ULZKQL...DNtS3gzMFk/view

More info here on how to install TWRP and root your phone if needed :

http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/gen...nstall-t3301371

If you wish to remove the annoying warning message :
MUST Factory reset phone first
Boot phone into fastboot/bootloader mode

Type :
fastboot devices
fastboot oem relock xxxxx..xxxx (xx.xxx is your unlock code)

I've read about Android root. But different phone give different purpose for rooting. Is there any features locked that can be enable by root?
*
Is essentially the same on all android phones
I had rooted before many Samsung, Sony, HTC, LG, Nexus etc
What you read can easily be applicable on all android
phones
I root mainly to:
Install anti adware, full backup of app n its data, tweak phone to have better battery life, full backup of phone n easy restore, install xposed mod n custom rom flash when available
You can check XDA to read some specific stuffs applicable to Mate8 only

Both my China (b168) n Msian (b170) had zero issues on WA notifications. This problem was an intermittent issue on earlier firmwares. Did you set WA as a protected app in settings/.../battery manager?
Anyway most users at XDA had positively reported WA is no longer a problem on latest firmware. However they are still a minority group such as you reporting problems on notification

I am a gadget enthusiast. I had any one time several smartphones with me. As of now - Nexus 6P, LG V10, Mate 8, iphone 6s +, Lumia 950XL. Just sold off my S7E few days back
Is my only expensive hobby. I will buy/test and sell off these phones usually within 3-6 months and go for newer models
As of now my favorite top 3 are : LG V10, Mate 8, Nexus 6P
