Car keys will never can scratch your display . Only materials harder than glass will, such as sand or diamond. If you don't believe me, try scratching it by dragging across display ...you can even try coins or even a blade. I had demo such action infront of my friends too n they were amazed.

Personally I rate Note5 much better phone than Find7...the oppo phone battery life is simply terrible . Its software colorOS is simply the worst OEM firmware. I switched over to CM instead.
Anyway different user had different expectation from their phones. I never speak badly about any brand just based on one or two poor experiences
My bad experience with Find7 did not deter me to try out the R7+ n this is indeed a very good 6 incher n than I rate it above Mate7.

The extra 1 GB makes a lot of difference in multitasking

Biggest risk you are unable to take out the sim slot if poorly done.

What browser are you using ? If is Chrome - is well known to be a battery guzzler
I only use either Next or Boat in ALL my androids

Usually:
From 6am till 6pm LG V10
From 7pm till 11pm - Mate 8 or S7edge
Others just random use : ip6s+, 950xl

I am a retiree ( past 60 already) n this is simply my hobby testing out different phones at same time
It is quite an expensive hobby!!!
I will sell them off usually 3-6 months and changed to newer ones
Poorer phones I usually disposed off in 2 weeks to a month eg recent Xperia Z5 premium, one plus two, mi note pro

2 celcom postpaid n 1 Maxis postpaid

My place best reception is always Celcom w stronger LTE about 20-70Mbps. Maxis LTE is weak n rarely I can get it
Both Digi n U Mobile even 3g is hopeless
Celcom is good enough for me even in Spore, Taiwan, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, UK, France etc

Latest firmware b170 shouldn't had such issues already based on what I had read at XDA?
My b168 China set has no more notification problems

I rarely use phone supplied chargers
I usually use either my Aukey or Tronsmart quick charger with a generic cable
Full charging should be around 2+ hours

There is Only one type qualcomm 2.0 quick charge. Mine is those 3 port type. Easily found at lazada , lelong, garage sales these days. I bought mine 2 years ago from ebay
Your Samsung charger something defective...is crazy that you need such a long time

However after you unlock bootloader there is an irritating warning message about phone unsecured during bootup
You can only remove it by locking back but phone must be reset first
Unlock BL will hard reset your phone too

Of course it can. Ipad n iphone generally draw in lower Amp vs most other high end Androids

I had used so many type of Android n yet to find my perfect 10/10 phone
Every phone will have pro n cons
Just don't expect what is best in your current phone be in the Mate8. Look at the other strengths of the Mate8 vs your current phone
Just make a decision based on what features are more important to you
