QUOTE(Crystal2 @ Mar 26 2016, 09:28 PM) Thank you, I think I will hold on to B170 for another few days. I always charge my phone while using any GPS app as is a great battery drainerBetter now, thank you. However I found the battery depletes very fast when using Waze. It went down by 65% when I drove for 4 hours. |

QUOTE(petrofsky77 @ Mar 27 2016, 07:55 AM) Okay, one burning question: how come there is no option to set Malaysia as a country in region settings? I only have option to set Philippines as the nearest country in the SEA region. Not even Singapore is to be found ... Strange ! I even had it on my China set |

QUOTE(i am number 2 @ Mar 27 2016, 07:42 PM) I have both phonesOverall S7E strengths - better camera only. Display is higher quality but I do not quite like Amoled colors - I find them to be too bright and over saturated. The Mate even though at only 1080p doesn't lose out much to the naked eye. Gamers will prefer the S7e due to its more powerful chipset Other features Mate8 can match it This post has been edited by benny888: Mar 27 2016, 08:45 PM |

QUOTE(SouzaDE @ Mar 27 2016, 11:55 PM) Very sharp picture. Could you pls also share some daytime and mixed lighting condition shot. I always find Huawei camera having weird white balance in mixed lighting condition. The Mate8 camera I deemed is decently good enough. It isn't in the class of my other LG V10 n S7E. For camera enthusiasts get these 2 phones instead |

QUOTE(tvcat @ Mar 28 2016, 10:29 AM) how is the battery life of LG V10? comaparable to Mate 8? LG V10 is renown for poor battery life. Mate8 easily more than double it. V10 however had advantage of replaceable batteryIt mean that u r connect to the telco as 4G. i do agree that it is confuse for ppl who coming from other brand |

QUOTE(bearbear @ Mar 28 2016, 10:40 AM) Coming from a phone with poor batt life and replaceable batt, you will be lazy especially with casing and etc. End up using powerbank and probbly like me swapping to mate 8 eventually lol No issue at all with me...most change battery only once a day. Is better n more convenient than carrying a powerbank along |

QUOTE(mffa @ Mar 29 2016, 06:04 AM) To date..mate 8 got software issue or not?..I heard update quite slow..I dont really care about software update if phone dont have any problem..will suggest this or note 5 for my father..but, this mate 8 battery life really insane..haha Msian set this time very good n had their first update within 2 weeks after launchHM software is very stable ...is either you love or hate its UI. This you can easily replace with 3rd party launcher New users might need to get used to its strict implementation of permission grants but is only a one time affair. Notifications is flexible too with many notions in its detailed settings - need to explore it yourself This Mate8 is now my second favorite phablet after LG V10. In third place is S7e Get the 4gb ram version as is more future proof n the extra 1gb ram does help greatly in multi tasking Mine is original China set This post has been edited by benny888: Mar 29 2016, 06:51 AM |

Huawei branding is not well received as many thinks is some cheap China ripoff. They are now world third largest smartphone manufacturer after Apple n Samsung
One doesn't reach such a status making mediocre products Infact amongst all phones I had used none can match HW wireless/lte strengths. This Mate8 is only phone that carries widest range of GSM /LTE bands - a really world phone I was sceptical too buying my first Mate 6.1 but was impressed within a day with it. Thereafter I had move on to X1, Mate7, p8max n now Mate8 To sceptics I always said try it first before discounting it as a worser phone vs Sony, HTC, Samsung, LG |

Since Mate 7, HW M'sia service center will offer a free one to one replacement for problematic phones. They will not repair it. If any of the service center tell you otherwise, just ask them to refer to the HQ for instructions. Several Mate7 users had got their phone replaced and most in same day
I am not sure whether this applies to other models but Mate S is included too |
