Shoppe app is problematic n doesn't work properly even on MM on Nexus 6 too. It works fine on Lollipop
I had never tried it on Mate8

I can confidently tell you all.those issues you had reported on Note5 you will not face at all on Mate8
I had used the N5 before too and I rarely even faced those issues - definitely no data disconnect, signals had always been good ( on Celcom ), sudden freeze from idle never , n only very minor problems eg slight freeze while on some app but isn't critical
I don't install any system utility app, memory or battery managers, auto task killers n all my app from playstore. I rooted the phone n had installed xposed mod but uninstall as it only create some irritating issues

Relocking bootloader is easy but you must factory reset phone first
Just a simple command : fastboot oem relock xxx...xxx ( where xx..xxx) is your unlock code
Warning : you will get a nasty warning message of phone being insecure during bootup if you had unlock bootloader. Such warning had been so since Marshmallow ( see it too on Nexus6)
This is not Samsung phone n no such counter displayed with bl unlock or rooted done

The warning will always appear each time you reboot the phone. Non experienced users will get frightened by the warning!! Unlocking bootloader will not affect the phone in any way unlike say Sony ( the only brand I knows of it affect the phone graphics performance). You unlock BL only if you wish to root the phone
It CANNOT be disabled unless you lock back the bootloader

The Mate8 battery life is already so good that any effect of ext SDcard if there are will be so minimal that no normal user can even detect it !! Seriously my answer is no idea how ext Sdcard will affect the battery life

This WARNING I said again CANNOT be disabled at all even with root. It is part and parcel of Marshmallow firmware.
Unless some guy could do it first on MM on Nexus6 first?

4:3 if you choose 16M or 8MP. 16:9 if you choose 12M or 6MP
I always choose 16MP ( 4:3)

Is the Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch compatible with the Mate8? Phone is still new and I could only see Mate7 in their supported list
I will go to Samsung center one of these days to test it out

When you register the HW ID did you get any confirmation back??

Try re register your ID again. Looks like your first attempt is unsuccessful. You will get a confirmation of your registration from HW

No idea on BL relock back...unless HW themselves has the tools or software to detect that it was relock back
One Mate7 user had got his set even exchanged when he relock back the BL - maybe he was lucky?

Isn't there a service booklet that comes with the phone
It has a list of all service n collection centers in the country
It has been there for all my previous Msian HW phones

I always only use Smart Keyboard Pro in ALL my Androids
It is my personal favorite. I had tested all phone stock keyboard, SwiftKey, Flexkey, Google etc but none of these can ever match SKP. It might not be the best but I really feel great using it in all my Androids

Sure and any such dual sim phone that support ext SDcard can be modded
But it is at your risk - most worrisome the sim tray gets stuck and you cannot eject it out. And your sim tray is basically "changed" and that might affect your resale value ??

Go and claim a new set as is problematic
