You got your orijen already?

The best for hedgies is the biggest you can find. Babymoli's tank is ok. Anyway, got a wheel so it is fine. Hedgies love to walk and roam. I let my Sparky and Donut out everynight, sometimes I a bit lazy so not every night lah but I try to do it everynight, let them walk around the house for a few hours heheheh.... they will only walk around when house has no lights.... so only late at night.

This is why if let it walk around the house, you must do it when nobody is around and all lights are off.

My hedgies also pee and poo around the food bowl hahaha.... well, it makes cleaning easier in a way.

My new hedgie ah, same seller as Mr.Z got Mika but then not sure related or not.... I think high chance lah. But the breeder I think breeds a lot of hedgehogs coz got mites....

Nah, they don't fight. Just move around as they like.... Hedgehogs don't fight, normally if they see each other, just more away.... coz in nature, hedgehogs also do that, move away unless breeding season. I only let them out for 2 to 3 hours.... normally around 10pm when my family go upstairs, nobody down stairs so I just let them out to roam... later about 12 or 1am I go downstairs to look for them, easy to find also since Sparky will roam about, can spot him but Donut will be around the corners or under the sofa... so just walk near the hiding space, if hissing means she under there hahahah.

In the end didn't bring for jab coz the vet at Anicare advised me better not since so small... risky coz the jab, if wrong dosage can cause death. So she said better stick to Frontline. The Frontline and bathing treatment will take some time.... You saw mine was badly infected? You mean my hedgie that looks like your Mika?

AHahah... just some eye infection lah, happened on Monday till now.... but now my eye getting better.

Ohh... you noticed from my pics hahha. Yah, some fur came off around the ears coz most of the mites were inside the left year.... now applied Frontline, tomorrow a bath and another spray of Frontline as well.

Haha... my eye blue black? I said my eye red and swollen ahhaha... no see doctor but now getting better so ok lah.

Yah.... actually the seller also didn't know till I mentioned it... the seller also being responsible lah, he is treating all the hedgehogs he have now. What you can get just in case the hoglet still has mites is Frontline Spray... you can get at any vet or certain petshops.... Rm33 for small bottle and RM45 for bigger one. Don't get the Spot On drops, I think the spray works better.

Housing, just get a large storage box. Toyogo or Felton brand also can, both are similar but can say Toyogo got better quality plastic. Anyway, just get the biggest you can find, normally around Rm27 to Rm30. As for bedding, the best so far is a mixture of wood pellets or wood shavings with Breeder's Celect cat litter. The cat litter is made of Recycled newspaper so it's very safe. If wood pellets, the best is either Woody Pet or Careline Wood pellet cat litter. Both are similar. As for woodshavings, the safest would be Delikate, Chipsi Super, Chipsi Extra and Chipsi Classic.... Avoid the ones like Apple or Lemon. Do not use other brands... only the mentioned ones here.

Dogfood.... no.... it cannot be a staple coz dogfood does not contain enough protein. Hedgehogs prefer a diet higher in protein, so catfood is the best. Dogfood is also a bit too big to chew and catfood is just the right size. Also, hedgehogs cannot tolerate a lot of corn and garlic, which a majority of the dogfood has in the market so catfood is the safest. The quality brands to feed would be:
Orijen Catfood, Royal Canin Kitten and Royal Canin Fit32, Go Natural catfood, Evolve catfood.... Do not give Iams or Science Plan, these 2 brands contain a lot of corn and Iams catfood is known to cause fatty liver disease in hedgehogs.

Sigh, I still haven't come up with a name yet hahah.... pity the Nameless Hedgie. Right now he tends to sleep alot.

Setapak easy lah.... You can get from a vet at genting kelang.... there is a vet next to a restaurant called The Pit which sells malay food now... used to be a bar hahaha.... or wangsa Maju, carrefour there got a vet called Anicare, I bought mine from there. I think the petshop at Genting Kelang got sell.... I think lah.

Hahah... yah... but that time really no car... but I usually get this infection, got the meds but then expired and when go pharmacy, they don't sell the meds pulak... so... have to suffer LOL. But ok lah now.

Name after favourite artist? Hehehe.... not my way.... Last time named my 1st one Sparky coz I just looked out the car window and say the ad with the word Sparks.... so Sparky hahaha.... Donut pulak, saw her so round and fat, call her Donut loh.... right now... my brain go no names hahahah....

Hahaha... you are right. I think I have named more than 100 pets already... but I don't have 100 pets now lah... so for me, naming is like headache liao, sometimes must view those baby name website LOL.

Hahah... Starpak is unique... but...doesn't suit hehehe.... but I got this feeling of naming it after a cactus... coz this boy is quite prickly compared to my other 2 hahhaah.

Hahah... yah.... wanna search later for cactus names.... maybe can find 1 that suits hahaha. Sounds weird.

Ceramic bowls are the best. Stay away from plastic coz it is too light, can topple over and then plastic can have bacteria build up since the food particles left in scratches are great for bacteria growth. Ceramic is heavy and easy to wash. Hygienic too.

Hahaha... have you ever heard a hedgie hiss and vibrate? My Donut does.... funny....

Hedgies will always curl when see us.... it's normal. Tame hedgies should uncurl after a few moments and their quills won't be so tensed up. You will get used to the pain hahahah.... to me, I dare to hold hedgie but I don't dare hold durian....

Hahah.... hissing normal with all hedgehogs.... but the vibrating was really weird... I laughed till almost drop Donut coz so funny. Vibrate a bit like handphone style hahah.

Ah, new hedgie I decided to name Crinkle... hahaha....

Yah, durians not as spiky but i still dun dare to hold a durian in my palm like how i hold hedgehogs LOL

Yellow stains ah? You can get those stain removers or use whitening shampoo.

True, hedgehogs are much better for working people than sugar gliders.... coz gliders needs a lot of time and attention.
