QUOTE(max_cavalera @ Jun 13 2007, 10:20 PM) anyone in some way involved with volunteering or doing charity work especially for PAWS animal welfare Subang? It's pretty simple, just go there, give them your money, write in their donation book your name and contact.... that's it.please pm me okay. Im interested to donate a part of a future hoglet i might sell to this organization for charity. Eventho i barely make ends meet sometimes, i feel like i need to play some small part towards helping others. |

Coughing and sneezing? Doesn't sound good at all.... Hedgehogs make a few sounds.... soft soft grunts, hissing and puffing(angry), whistling(happy), snuffling(curious), chirping(males when courting female)....
I think the sneezing could be a sign of respitory infection. QUOTE signs of respiratory disease include sneezing, coughing, and wheezing. Hedgehogs are susceptible to a number of respiratory bacteria and viruses, including Bordetella, Pasteurella, and cytomegalovirus, as well as respiratory parasites (Capillaria). A complete workup includes bloodwork, radiographs, and tracheal/nasal cytology and culture. Therapy includes treatment with the proper antibiotics and supportive care, including fluid and oxygen therapy. http://www.lakehowellanimalclinic.com/html/hedgehog.html You may need to bring your hedgehog for a check up. Go to Animal Medical Center. They have the proper equipment. Print out the quote for them so they can check for the bacteria and viruses. |

QUOTE(radical85 @ Jun 19 2007, 10:11 PM) aww i think most probably is respiratory problem. Now the hedgehog got running nose, the nose is very wet and he kept licking his own nose. Breath quite heavily, is it possible that he is allergy to my dog? i have 2 silky terrier running around in the house No, it is not your dog hat is causing such thing. The hedgie already got infection already. You better tell the seller about it. It is serious if breath heavily. Better bring to a vet tomorrow. Could be a lung infection already.QUOTE(broken_string @ Jun 19 2007, 10:16 PM) @crazymouse Yah, they roam. My Sparky will lick some dust. Donut likes to go under Sofas so she will be covered in dust and dog fur hahaha...u let ur hedge around ur house at night right? today after i bath my kat chai i let it roam my room for a while but it seems tat he smell and lick almost anything he can find is it ok ar? dun wan it to get any disease or infection leh Well, you must hedgehog proof your room first. Make sure anything that is harmful is swept away or blocked. If your room is clean with no rat poo or rat urine, should be fine lah. |

QUOTE(rumizu @ Jun 22 2007, 11:41 AM) he's 9 plus.. Mites can cause the quills to shed. This is coz the skin is irritated, the mites burrow into the skin and eating up the fleshy bits which makes the quills drop. If the skin is constantly flaky, means got mites so need to treat with Frontline.i took him quite late from the breeder since very bz to take him earlier.. emm.. mite can cause quills falling eh? emm haven't seen him scratching before even once... Now quilling stage loh.... it will last till they are about 3 to 4 months old... 10 quills a day is ok.... slowly it will lessen. As adults, dropping like 3 to 4 quills a day is normal. |
