Anyway, what is the colour of the quills? Banded or non-banded? Eye colour leh?

For me, Sparky now doesn't looks like a salt and pepper. In fact, he looks more like an Algerian Grey/Chocolate snowflake since he has more white quills. I'm still not sure grey or chocolate, so need to look under sun light.

Do check out this website for colours as well. Yours could be a Sepia.

Well, you can't change straight away coz will cause green poo.... what you can do is mix... 1st day give 20% Kitten and 80% babycat.... then increase the kitten everyday while lessen the babycat. In a week, you can already give almost 100% kitten. But just mix it for now lah.

To make sure your hedgie has blunt nails, you must let your hedgie walk on rough floors.... putting a stone will not help because a hedgehog is not a cat, it won't know how to scratch its nails on a stone but more likely to try and bite and chew it.

Just bring your hedgie to a place with stone ground and let it walk around.

Oh yah, just to update you about Orijen.... I'm trying the dog orijen on my Sparky and Donut, seems Donut eats it but Sparky doesn't like it.... haven't gone to get the cat orijen yet.... you still want to share rite?

Hehehe... I went to see Mr.Z's hedgie this morning.... very small but super adorable... I don't think it's a cinnamon, could be another colour but we can only tell when it turns about 4 months old onwards.

Yups, a 2ft aquarium is ok.... it is good for a single hedgehog. Is it the normal 2ft standard glass aquariums? Or the plastic kind?

Hedgehogs don't really smell... unless you never clean their tank properly and water always gets onto the wood shavings then it will be smelly loh.

But so far ok. I have 2... the smell is mild... not that bad... if compare to hamster, hedgehog less smell.

Towel of course lah smell... it cannot absorb all the odour and moisture.... the best is a mixture of Woody Pet and Breeder's Celect.... that's what I like to use but I substitue Woody Pet with Careline. So this is why I saw, the smell can be less than hamster....

I keep my hedgehogs in my dining room.... if smelly, i think people will vomit while eating LOL.... but then when I place hamsters there, everyone complain of smell.... so.... it is actually the bedding that works coz my hamsters use woodshavings while my hedgehogs uses a different bedding.

Well, towels is actually the best but then I'm lazy to wash towels every day.... even weekly also I lazy coz I got many other pets to clean. Hedgehogs are sensitive to Cedar and Pine... so never use bedding that is made of that. Woody Pet is a pellet that is good for both reptiles and small animals, it is not made of Pine or Cedar but it has a very strong wood smell, which covers up urine smell pretty well. Breeder's Celect is made of recycled newspaper, absorb water and moisture very well. So a combination can lessen the smell. This is similar for hamsters too.

also very funny thing is when a hog poo poo u can hear the sound same like u poo.. lol!
u CANNOT use those wire-based.. it will hurt its tiny winy legs.. also provide it with a wheel, so it wont feel bored.

Hahaha.... can say the rooms with no pets are the bathrooms, storeroom and all the bedrooms but mine.... my bedroom also got pets LOL.

Hedgehogs should not be kept in cages.... it will hurt their feet and genitals, can cause infection if too long.

If you mind smell, poo size and all, maybe hedgehog is not the pet for you lah.... get something else loh. A Hedgehog also needs to eat mealworms and crickets, coz they are insectivorous by nature. Also, you can only feed Holistic cat food and Royal Canin catfood, other brands should not be fed....

Since when hedgehogs chew plastic? We all use plastic toyogo box... so it means our hedgehogs gonna chew on it and die soon?
