QUOTE(The_FQ400 @ Sep 29 2016, 11:51 PM) yea i think got a bit acid... hmmm.. i'll try that then.. so far havent drain coolant since new.. Remember to bleed water bubble after refill coolant, the nut under air filter area. Check Google there are some procedure. No bleed will causes slight overheating, temp meter showing OK but radiator fan will always run after off engine

QUOTE(delaciox @ Sep 30 2016, 06:39 PM) how long time u reflush coolant??? 40k? Usually I follow 2 years or 30k-40k km. Car never use also the coolant properties will changed. Bought my car new when it left for 4 years, open radiator cap i noticed the coolant seems not good so change it. the above photo is when i bought the car, you see the coolant color seems faded (very light green), ignore the circle i think it just peel-off.

QUOTE(mingwei1992 @ Jan 7 2017, 07:22 AM) Its in penang. Autorised svc centre. Its called autobinee. Labour was charged for other services such as oil change and so. This is what they tell me when I ask last time if I don't want proton ori parts. The problem with this SC is spare parts availability. I got a defective blower fan need wait quite sometime before it arrives. Since under warranty and the defect is minor I have no complain. The blower fan produces metal screeches when turned on. blower fan with metal screeches noise is normal for gen2 and persona, many ppl including me got this. i already biasa with the noise and didn't realize much until new passenger sit my car and ask what noise is that.

QUOTE(diversity @ Feb 28 2017, 09:10 AM) original SE already very low as compared to many other cars https://www.google.com/search?q=proton+pers...EmWi0E6aDRTyOM:Normal roads wont calar or anything, but if you go into those rural areas / city slums without proper roads. CONFIRM will calar your front bumper skirts like shit. That's why wondering what can I do to make the front part of the car slightly higher Even my Iswara front part also higher than my persona SE. Wira still lower tho lol lower down the speed when going through those potholes helps. i usually going through bump <20kmph depending on the bump..

QUOTE(mingwei1992 @ Mar 3 2017, 09:10 AM) Still have sticker. not sure the damage will extend overtime or not I read somewhere. some say maybe due to heatgun some say due to bad solvent. SHIT happens !! DRL i saw before. taiwan made? Hehe prefer original design my lamp is only 2 years old Any idea ori price of headlamp per pair? OEM ones are around 200 a pair. not sure they are good or not I saw mudah less than 80 bucks a piece, you can bet on that while keeping your original lamp at store... Usually used car dealer always change those headlamp to cheap OEM, I think usable

QUOTE(mingwei1992 @ Mar 8 2017, 02:38 PM) Just went and service my car. Noticed that they no longer provide 5w40. They use 5w30 now. Is it OK? If not next time I get my own 5w40 for them to use They told me the engine noise might be louder but save fuel and more power I want to use 5w30 on my gen2 for next oil change... See whether it saves fuel..

QUOTE(kausar @ Mar 9 2017, 02:55 PM) nope the knob is at face mode, but air can still feels at legs, so damn cool. try using the obd tool but cannot find any code error. encountered this problem on my gen2 before... the aircond control's memory messed-up, so need to reset it. to do this, turn off your car with the aircond blower fan switching to off position (no fan out), ensure the aircond position is pointing to face only direction. Next, open front bonnet, locate the fuse box next to battery... after open the fuse box, you will notice there's one "special fuse" with fuse puller on it, that's the memory fuse... slightly pull it up (no need to pull out the whole fuse) for few seconds, then push it in (take the car key with you as afraid the alarm might trigger) . start the car, then switch on the aircond blower fan. QUOTE(mingwei1992 @ Mar 9 2017, 01:20 PM) how old is your car? you have been using fully sync since day 1? 65k km only, still healthy engine. using semi-syn 10w40 engine oil since day one, until last change only try fully-syn 5w40, but not much effect on fc. next will test fully-syn 5w30, see if the fc improve. as this car mostly driving on city traffic jam, i think should've no problem as seldom revving higher than 3,000rpm...

QUOTE(kausar @ Mar 10 2017, 10:51 AM) any other side effect if pull the fuse? like invecs have to learn again / radio memory lost? Not that i aware of... so far observed alarm reset (yes, my gen2 alarm hang no response a few time need reset), and aircond reset (you will hear blower flap direction motor swapping when first key on). also the digitial trip meter and fc calculator, digital clock. QUOTE(mingwei1992 @ Mar 9 2017, 01:20 PM) how old is your car? you have been using fully sync since day 1? Thx for the feedback. Proton svc centre no longer carries 5w40 petronas synitium 3000. they got 0w40 syntium 7000 but i feel its too expensive to be used for a persona. Well ill monitor see if its very loud and check on the claims on fuel and power. If not next time ill buy my own lubricant to be used during service so how's your car FC with 5w30 oil? got 50km more travel distance compare last time or not? i gonna try soon if really save fuel so much...

QUOTE(Xefron @ Mar 25 2017, 07:09 AM) correct.wanna save fuel go buy Honda with L engine.500km ++ sap sap sui. I replace my valve gasket cover then use 0W-20 on campro ,hahaha guess what not so much on fuel saving but the engine feel lighter coz low viscosity. anyway back to 5W-30 right now. Walao Xw20 weight oil on campro? Any bad effect? Mine nowadays pure city driving, if this oil weight works fine I might give a try... What engine oil is that btw?

QUOTE(mingwei1992 @ Mar 25 2017, 11:37 PM) Wow my full tank 480? Approx 40 litres Lately I speed and brake alot. Not sure is the new oil more powerful or placebo effect hahah My best so far is around 15km/litre when driving back KL from Ipoh.. drive very slow below 110km/h. Another way to gauge your driving condition is using the elapsed time. Usually I would reset it together with the mileage, record the elapsed driving time and km traveled on next refuel, then can calculate the average speed

QUOTE(mingyuyu @ Jun 9 2017, 02:59 PM) Finally got my Persona, it was a 2008 M-line Auto with around 50k millage. First thing i notice is that the stock head unit can't connect AUX/ USB/ Bluetooth, making me unable to play my own music at all. Don't want to use CD since I cant pick my desired song. Any suggestion? EDIT: Also the engine fan will keep running after the car is shut down, I only saw the same thing on Exora CFE before. Is it normal for NA Persona to do the same? when the engine and water coolant is cold, try to open up the radiator cap, pour in distilled/RO water. I managed to fill-up at least 300ml. The spare water tank might showing water is Full, but inside radiator there's air bubble causing the radiator not really full (maybe only 3/4 filled with water).

QUOTE(ask_dino @ Jul 17 2017, 11:20 AM) I also have the same problem, the radiator fan keep spinning for more than 5 minutes after engine turn off. I already did the following 1. change Thermostat 2. change radiator as my previous one already rusty due to bad repair 3. change waterpump also rusty 4. filled with Toyota red coolant, anyhow when check this morning the level seem decreasing? Is it due to evaporation? Need advise, do I need to top-up water every week? or something wrong somewhere My Persona Elegance is 7 years already You top up on spare tank of radiator cap? Initial first 2 days top up is normal, after that "breathing" period you don't need to top up anymore, maybe 4 - 6 months a little bit due to evaporation... If weekly or daily top up, definitely something wrong. Need to check where was the leakage. I used to have very tiny minor leakage on the thermostat hose "above gearbox" as the clamp not tight.

QUOTE(Loi88 @ Aug 12 2017, 04:30 PM) Hi all.. I have been searching every info/problems regarding my Persona here for years but today finally decided to register as a member. I'm proud owner of Persona Elegance High-Line T.Black (2010) and recently bought a new Civic TC-P Orchid Pearl. But that doesn't mean I'm selling off my P.E as it is such a reliable workhorse with low cost ownership. Just passby to say hello and thanks to all brothers in this forum whom had helped me solved all the funny problem of P.E. same, i bought a vw polo sedan as family car, persona hatch aka gen2 still serve as my workhorse, it was quite reliable car i would say. compare to the german national car, which gave me headache since day 1 and i had some heated argument with SC and their CS in solving the issue I'm facing. end up gave up with them, totally useless (my car overnight 2 occasion total 4 nights for them to fix steering column noise and bad fm radio), 1 problem solved but another not as they claimed my car installed reverse camera voiding warranty. now servicing the car outside and trying to repair the problem since new car.. btw, gen2 genuine absorbers 4 pcs i got less than 600 bucks with installation. very affordable pricing i must say and the rear original already served me for 5 years.
