Remember to bleed water bubble after refill coolant, the nut under air filter area. Check Google there are some procedure. No bleed will causes slight overheating, temp meter showing OK but radiator fan will always run after off engine

Usually I follow 2 years or 30k-40k km. Car never use also the coolant properties will changed. Bought my car new when it left for 4 years, open radiator cap i noticed the coolant seems not good so change it.


the above photo is when i bought the car, you see the coolant color seems faded (very light green), ignore the circle i think it just peel-off.

kasi share your secret recipe for keeping the battery long lasting? you got put into refrigerator keeping it freeze once a while?

too bad not holding for 20 years, else proton might compensate another new "Ramcar" battery for you, just like the old proton saga pak cik...

of coz mar, have to give way to persona2.. just like the old proton iswara, wira, slowly fading...

blower fan with metal screeches noise is normal for gen2 and persona, many ppl including me got this. i already biasa with the noise and didn't realize much until new passenger sit my car and ask what noise is that.

lower down the speed when going through those potholes helps. i usually going through bump <20kmph depending on the bump..

I saw mudah less than 80 bucks a piece, you can bet on that while keeping your original lamp at store...
Usually used car dealer always change those headlamp to cheap OEM, I think usable

I want to use 5w30 on my gen2 for next oil change... See whether it saves fuel..

encountered this problem on my gen2 before... the aircond control's memory messed-up, so need to reset it.
to do this, turn off your car with the aircond blower fan switching to off position (no fan out), ensure the aircond position is pointing to face only direction. Next, open front bonnet, locate the fuse box next to battery... after open the fuse box, you will notice there's one "special fuse" with fuse puller on it, that's the memory fuse... slightly pull it up (no need to pull out the whole fuse) for few seconds, then push it in (take the car key with you as afraid the alarm might trigger) . start the car, then switch on the aircond blower fan.

65k km only, still healthy engine.
using semi-syn 10w40 engine oil since day one, until last change only try fully-syn 5w40, but not much effect on fc.
next will test fully-syn 5w30, see if the fc improve. as this car mostly driving on city traffic jam, i think should've no problem as seldom revving higher than 3,000rpm...

Not that i aware of...
so far observed alarm reset (yes, my gen2 alarm hang no response a few time need reset), and aircond reset (you will hear blower flap direction motor swapping when first key on).
also the digitial trip meter and fc calculator, digital clock.

so how's your car FC with 5w30 oil? got 50km more travel distance compare last time or not? i gonna try soon if really save fuel so much...

Walao Xw20 weight oil on campro? Any bad effect? Mine nowadays pure city driving, if this oil weight works fine I might give a try... What engine oil is that btw?

My best so far is around 15km/litre when driving back KL from Ipoh.. drive very slow below 110km/h.
Another way to gauge your driving condition is using the elapsed time. Usually I would reset it together with the mileage, record the elapsed driving time and km traveled on next refuel, then can calculate the average speed

when the engine and water coolant is cold, try to open up the radiator cap, pour in distilled/RO water. I managed to fill-up at least 300ml.
The spare water tank might showing water is Full, but inside radiator there's air bubble causing the radiator not really full (maybe only 3/4 filled with water).

You top up on spare tank of radiator cap? Initial first 2 days top up is normal, after that "breathing" period you don't need to top up anymore, maybe 4 - 6 months a little bit due to evaporation...

If weekly or daily top up, definitely something wrong. Need to check where was the leakage. I used to have very tiny minor leakage on the thermostat hose "above gearbox" as the clamp not tight.

That day help my colleague parking his persona elegance, almost hit the car in front due to very poor brake biting. It was day night different braking compare to my Gen2... I thought his brake got problem, but now seems normal to all of you?

same, i bought a vw polo sedan as family car, persona hatch aka gen2 still serve as my workhorse, it was quite reliable car i would say.

compare to the german national car, which gave me headache since day 1 and i had some heated argument with SC and their CS in solving the issue I'm facing. end up gave up with them, totally useless (my car overnight 2 occasion total 4 nights for them to fix steering column noise and bad fm radio), 1 problem solved but another not as they claimed my car installed reverse camera voiding warranty. now servicing the car outside and trying to repair the problem since new car..

btw, gen2 genuine absorbers 4 pcs i got less than 600 bucks with installation. very affordable pricing i must say and the rear original already served me for 5 years.
