QUOTE(mingwei1992 @ Jan 23 2018, 07:37 PM) Persona stock size supposed to be 195/60/R15, not profile 65. You using 65 so thick sidewall, no feel the steering response is very slow meh? I now using profile 60 already feel slower in attacking corner...

QUOTE(jasontantenghuat @ Jan 24 2018, 09:25 AM) Will be sending my car for 200,000km service. Any advice on what should be done / checked? Will be changing the timing belt cause it is starting to make noise. And hopefully my mechanic can fix my bumper The car is starting to feel underpower but don't know if it is because I switched from daily highway driving to being stuck on old klang road jam (changed jobs). Consumption definitely went up If possible try to do some combustion chamber and intake decarbonizing service. Although I never try before, but saw YouTube the camera showing the inside piston hole photo, what a massive difference.

QUOTE(powerwoot @ Jan 29 2018, 06:34 PM) My guess most of the persona owners have changed to other brands or models, very less discussions currently. 😅 still here, apa lu mau tanya? joking... btw, hankook v2 heard wet gripping not so good. You may try Kumho Ecsta PS31, good gripping but sidewall too soft, else it's great tyre otherwise. if you're hardcore go for hankook v12 evo 2.

QUOTE(inferno_17_85 @ Feb 1 2018, 10:47 AM) Since you sending her to paint already, you can check does the paint shop do headlamp polishing also. I got mine did for RM350 in Johor here. Like new. fuiyoo, RM350 to respray headlamp? I thought last time i saw Mudah new OEM headlamp only RM120-150/pc, might as well buy 2 pcs @ RM300 max... btw, i respray the headlamp myself, RM6.90 for clear lacquer, lasted 2 years already. only polished twice in between. Now starting to yellowing a bit due to non-UV protective lacquer used. Can respray again but nowadays I'm lazy.

QUOTE(fantasy1989 @ Feb 19 2018, 02:52 PM) i am using 195/55/R15 for my persona better handling but more bumpy compared to 60 profile Actually the differences is very very minimal. I'm changing from 195/55/R15 to 185/60/R15 on my gen2. Same still bumpy but maybe whacking corner a bit slower response from feel.. maybe 0.01sec slower? Haha

QUOTE(diversity @ Feb 22 2018, 11:00 AM) Hi all, Persona can use ATF TYPE 4 instead of 3? I asked several sellers in Lazada, some said yes some said no. Suppose it's ATF SP3, not the Dexron3. It has some differences in Friction Modifier between these 2. I guess the Type 4 you mentioned is for Toyota T-IV? Definitely not worth to try, we dunno the long term side effect. If the ATF is Universal Synthetic/Multi Vehicle type, with SP3 stated in compatibility table, then can try.

QUOTE(diversity @ Feb 22 2018, 11:29 AM) 1 thing about gearbox and engine: if you use the not-compliant fluid/oil, it won't show instant bad effect, it's not like human showing instant diarrhea effect if ate bad food. things might be some effect after few years or several thousands of km. by the time your gearbox kaput, you also uncertain "if i use correct atf, will it lasts longer?" maybe it will lasts a few months more but eventually breakdown due to wear and tear, we can't tell... of coz not to say pouring atf into engine and no trouble.

QUOTE(Effy92 @ Mar 25 2018, 03:53 PM) Jus sharing. This is how look like when persona using 185/65 conti cc6. Comfort level improve and lesser noise compare to AdvanDB. Circumference increase 1% compared to 195/60. Same tyre size as nissan almera. [attachmentid=9688434] [attachmentid=9688444] That is way so thick, would it feels floating on highway? I'm using 185/60 on my gen2, didn't feel much difference compare original size 195/55. Maybe time attack indoor roller coaster car park increase a few seconds.

QUOTE(delsoo @ Apr 21 2018, 11:35 PM) I don't have brand preference, like inferno said, just get genuine branded oil will do. Modern engine like persona are more forgiving on engine oil as long as genuine oil used and follow service interval. I have used Castrol Magnatec 10W40, Shell HX7, now testing Bosch fully synthetic 5W30 less viscous oil to reduce fuel consumption. You can get cheaper oil such as Bosch from authorized Bosch dealer; TopValu from Aeon. These oil are API certified so at least the "minimum quality requirement" were fulfilled.

QUOTE(delsoo @ Apr 22 2018, 01:50 PM) Unbelievable..... I have seen a 30 year old Mercedes taxi clocking 800k km so far..... It's the highest.... ya.. but if u join Gen2 facebook club, quite often can seen member's car clocking 450-500k km mileage. usually they no intend to post mileage but posted the meter cluster photo asking for help coz of engine malfunction light or overheating.. gen2 launched 2004 so the guess those cars only 14 years old max.

QUOTE(caesarx @ Apr 30 2018, 11:07 AM) I wonder what is the cause, i suspect the disc and the brake pad are not aligned, cos I just replaced my rear disc brake and brake pad together, but the brake still make loud "wong wong" sound when reverse, same problem since the car was bought, it seem like the disc or the pad vibrate when braking. what brand of brake pad you using now? I'm using the mintye proton original on rear it gives the same wong wong sound when reverse after some rain. previously it came with bosch proton original, no sound but the brake dust is very massive, every 3 days my rim colored black.
