If you're wondering what those numbers are, they are actually sizes for hex screws. I bought this at a local hardware shop for about RM9. Then bough some screws because the provided screws are too big.
Do you EDC?

QUOTE(Armata @ Jan 22 2016, 02:44 PM) lol..this is exactly why i guess some local outdoor shop arent very friend friend with me... yeah as if like they did no market research at allkept asking for price of maybe 10 items..but end up only get 2 or 3.... sometimes, they really never check price with competitor... like some knife, shop A sell RM180...another Shop B sells for RM350...dafok who wanna buy from Shop B la...they never do market survey on price izzit? or thought all consumer richfag like bijan? and even if busy, then check lelong/lowyat also la....like my multitool..Lowyat ppl sell for RM180 (eventho i got mine for less than RM100) and some shops here sell it for RM250....i really dont understand how they make business.. nowadays everyone also have smart phone...jst go click few times can chck right on the spot how much website ppl are selling... if they get their stock alot more expensive than internet based seller, those who doesnt have a physical shop, then those shop owner really waiting to close shop liao... maybe they think that this is a niche market so they dont expect much sales |

QUOTE(tescogot @ Jan 22 2016, 02:46 PM) yeah as if like they did no market research at all but then still, those who are into this kinda stuffs, usually surf the web for new tools and review...then for sure we know how to check prices on ebay and compare them as well, among other sites. maybe they think that this is a niche market so they dont expect much sales It's time they price their items more competitively...and we dont have to buuy from overseas and risk : 1) kastam tax 2) local hobby shop closing due to lack of sales This post has been edited by Armata: Jan 22 2016, 02:50 PM |

I bought this one Gundam tool kit when I was still making Gundam : ![]() The grind(not sure the name) at he far back is only 5mm wide, so I could use it to grind a bit more hole in my keys to fit the screw. There's this Keysmart that ran a Kickstarter before. it starts at $20 for an aluminium build and goes up to $45 for titanium. Oh and mine is prett heavy though. The same, if not a bit more than my iPod touch |

That's a good idea, bt even with only 6 keys, the final weight isn't something i would call light.Mix and and match and you have a key holder with some additional tools. And the phillips/slot tool is much more useful than any found on those mini multitools. The only problem with mixing in tools is the possibility it'll disrupt the thickness. And unless you plan well, it'll look weird with one side being thicker while the other thinner or one side has ore stuff while the other has less stuff. (I'm very anal about having my stuff symmetrical, so either of those problems will surely irritate me) I guess it depends on your personal needs. For me, it would be cool to add more, but the stupidly thick "grip" and weight of it is a turnoff for me to add any more. Interesting that the have the other screws. My place only had the torx set. Bummer. On the topic of key holder/organizer, I found this the other day : ![]() http://superclassic.jp/?pid=51202 It can't hold any extra tools or a lot of keys, but for the essential ones, it'll work. Plus there's a coin pouch. Very useful for us Malaysians where we are still very reliant on coins but use a slim wallet with no place to put your coins. Too bad the price is kill. Just sharing Here are my Mr.DIY budget specials. 1) Folding knife 2) Mini multitool 3) Customized Folding tool (2 Philips, 1 slot, 2 Allen), made by combining 2 different sets) 4) AAA LED flashlight. Prob spent less than rm45 for everything...and very light and compact (the longest is the flashlight at 10cm, rest don't exceed 8cm when folded) EDC don't have to expensive as long as it serves the purpose. An expensive Leatherman might give you a better blade and pliers but nothing beats dedicated screw bits...especially M5 and M6 Allen bits. QUOTE(graphidz @ Jan 24 2016, 07:37 PM) Whut. That kind of curing doesn't come cheap liao. Will keep an eye out alright. Oh didn't notice it, but nice color theme. I just mix any color as long as it serves its purpose LOL. Dont expect some exotic metallurgy for 8.50. The blade has what looks to be some printing on the surface.Blade is soft and don't hold its edge for very long, but it is easy to sharpen quickly, and quite sharp when freshly sharpened. Serves its purpose of occasional use. The only thing out of the colour theme is the metal flashlight. I do have other coloured anodized single AA sized LED flashlights that also does a reasonable job for the price. Just waiting for them to sell one in red. Well, it's at that price anyway so yeah Blade is soft and don't hold its edge for very long, but it is easy to sharpen quickly, and quite sharp when freshly sharpened. I do have other coloured anodized single AA sized LED flashlights that also does a reasonable job for the price. Oh i think it actually fits pretty well in fact. since the color theme is red + silver. It's not too out of coordination really. |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Jan 26 2016, 06:03 PM) just bought 2 new toys. nice!! But where's the glass breaker? cant see in the photo...sanrenmu 7045 blade that comes with seat belt cutter and glass breaker, and a olight i3e...single mode at 90 lumens. the i3e is in the middle of the SAK 58mm and fenix LD01...its so nice and small and the i3e..AAA cell? I used to EDC AAA due to it's slim size...but cant last long in term of lighting..so decided to go for CR123/RCR123 instead....so any chance of jumping over to RCR123 cell? |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Jan 26 2016, 06:12 PM) glass breaker is behind the seat belt cutter at the butt end. ahh..i zoom in and can see abit..its blocked by the seat belt cutter right?speaking of CR123, i tried the new 2016 fenix E15...much much better than previous version...too bad price also very nice...rm135...zzz. i just dont feel like carrying CR123 anymore cos run time not much difference and have to travel abit to get good CR123...while AAA the energizer lithium ones very easy to find. the E15...is it twisty like old model? i have a twisty CR123..but i find twisty, albeit it's safe to put in pocket, is quite hassle to turn on with 1 hand..... and i think pretty standard liao. In fact might be cheaper d..last time i got a nitecore twisty on CR123 at RM140..and that's like 2-3 yrs ago..so even with MYR going down, i guess RM135 is pretty good price liao. Aiks..cr123 run time short? Hmm..maybe i always go for low/med mode, hahaa.. but get recharfgeable ones la..Olight's RCR123 very good price at around RM20+ a pc only...can tahan high draw also unlike AW's brand. Oops..i dont go for primary cells..too expensive liao...only rechargeable for me..except my AAA lights..seldom use now..and after my friend lost the 3pcs of AAA eneloppies..decided to jst buy those Zinc Cloride from Tesco..cheap and seldom use. so a pack of 4 at RM3.20 can last me a yr or more.. Still...nice haul bro!! |
