I used quite a number of MTK base phone like mx4, m1 note, sony c5 ultra, n recently the RN2, all of them are auto detect by my laptop running windows 8, no drivers need to install... so i think is something wrong with the rom install on his RN3...

I thought I've made it clear that my pc is running XP?

Hi guys. Just bought my RN3 last Saturday.

I'm having few minor problems that I realized so far. But since Ive been read all the problems you guys had in this thread, it looks like the problems we're facing right now are alike. (of course since the phone is an AP set from China)

Here are my list of problems so far:

1) So frustrated with all the unusable apps (bloatwares), with all the Chinese languages installed with the custom ROM.
2) All the MI apps (store, theme, video etc etc... you name it ) again all in Chinese language
3) When my device is getting hot (turned on the data for long period), the fingerprint scanner started to malfunction. (i've to reboot the phone to make it function, but then when the device getting hot again, same thing happened) - THE MAJOR PROBLEM SO FAR. HATE IT!
4) The notification seems so weird. My whatsapp notification does not give any notification at all. Need to open the app then the messages start to enter. Plus, when it give noti, only once (for many messages without open the app)
5) For sure, again the weird custom ROM made by the seller.
6) The bootloader is locked.

Somehow with all the problems/complains stated above, other than that my RN3 just working fine once I get used to it.

PS: Daymnn its to long to wait for the global ROM!!!

Where did you buy your phone from? Btw I have notification problem too but only for Facebook, sometimes I get it sometimes I don't.

hi guys, recent owner of the magnificent RN3 here. do I need to grant permission and autostart under "Security" before I am able to receive notifications from whatsapp, facebook, instagram etc? thanks in advance.

So far it heats up just a bit which is the normal for me. Overheating is not a problem.

Spec wise, it's actually quite great running with snapdragon 801. But if you prefer larger battery capacity (4000mah vs 2300mah) and fingerprint sensor + extra 5 mp front camera you should go for redmi note 3.
I'd recommend to get the 3gb/32gb storage since there's no expandable storage.

It should perform as nicely as snapdragon 801 (based on the benchmark anyway)
If you don't care much for extra storage, you could grab the 16gb version at lazada for less than rm700 (with discounts coupon applied)
