Spec wise, it's actually quite great running with snapdragon 801. But if you prefer larger battery capacity (4000mah vs 2300mah) and fingerprint sensor + extra 5 mp front camera you should go for redmi note 3.
I'd recommend to get the 3gb/32gb storage since there's no expandable storage.

It should perform as nicely as snapdragon 801 (based on the benchmark anyway)
If you don't care much for extra storage, you could grab the 16gb version at lazada for less than rm700 (with discounts coupon applied)

Why choose padfone s? Other than the sd801 processor, everything else on padfone s is basically shit. From the bulky design to average display and shitty speaker with poor camera performance

Unless you want to use its docking, as former user of padfone s plus, i would recommend for RN3 for its finger print scanner, intelligent screen and big capacity battery

honestly I think it'll take a long time, at least 6 months onwards if we ever see the light of it. xiaomi has made it official this is a china-only phone availability and there is absolutely no word & plans to launch internationally for now. the phone is totally boot locked-down. meaning can't install any custom roms on it. this is the first ever xiaomi take things so seriously... so if you understand this, either you can proceed in buying a china phone OR get a RN2 from xiaomi malaysia which has a proper support for it...

No, i owed padfone s plus b4, and i bought due to 3GB/64GB for sure. But it was too bulky and heavy, some more battery is weak and no 2a charging even using SD801 processor

That's why i prefer to choose RN3 among both of them. However, i was waiting for my honor 7 arrived
