afaik, xiaomi can't use mediatek proc for their phone in india due to legal issues, so fingers crossed.

India can't use MTK SoC and use SD SoC is because of some legal issues in their country. So Malaysia might stick with MTK SoC instead.

Still no one sifus here reply me..haizza...forever alone leh I'm having the issue..thanks by the way

You might need to revert back to MIUI 7.1.6.0(LHNCNCK) because as you said, the problem only occurred after you update to 7.1.8. I am still using 7.1.6 and no problem at all with fingerprint sensor

V7.1.8.0.LHNCNCK here, no issue with fingerprint sensor work like charm

yup..looks like it will be the MTK redmi note 3 we are getting. Cause based on past history, Malaysia is a place for xiaomi to dump their "leftover" models. Most malaysians are non tech savvy so they just buy new model from xiaomi not knowing there are already a replacement model.

Look at all the past models they sell here.
mi4i (not selling well model as spec worst than 4c)
mi3 (selling here when already launch mi4 in china and selling hot there)
redmi2 (1gb model launch here when 2gb already being sold)
redmi note 2 (note 3 already sold in china)
redmi note 3 (note 3 pro already selling in china/india)

so, currently what;s the lastest Redmi note 3 in china? the note 3 pro?

Just got my gold Redmi note 3 second hand bought from facbook kang tao page. It is a helios X10 16gb 2GB ram for RM530.Lady Seller say is Direct D set. Upon reseting the phone Immediately i understand why this lady want to sell the 1 month old phone : nobody can stand the bloatware that comes with the 7.1.1.1 vendor rom; notification from apps every other minit and browser full of ads and antivirus things. First time have to peruse the instructions and advice posted here and MIUI forum to flash the rom to China official rom 7.0.16 or something. After that install Google play. Now very useable and smooth already .
Using celcom 4G prepaid magic sim smooth sailing .
Upside: Very fast fingerprint unlock (fastr than note 5 i feel), beautiful themes , few bloatware , dont feel laggy at all for a MTK chip at 2GB ram. Reasonable priced. Useful tools and very good for facebooking /whatsapping phone.
Downside : the Helios X10 running a bit warm after 5 mins of Subway Surfer . No SD card slot.
Other than that it is a very good First Xiaomi phone for me ! Love the price and the features we are getting.

I also noticed the stock launcher is quite heavy. I just switched to my Nova Prime (I got 4 widgets running: calender,whatsapp,clock,power menu)

I managed to get back around 100-200mb worth of RAM with basic apps such as whatsapp and FB running in the background.

Currently on 7.1.8.0.

Hi, just got my phone. Now currently running 7.0.22.0. Saw update got 7.1.8.0, downloaded it, n click update. Phone restart, but no install the update, the phone still in 7.0.22.0. Can click the update again, restart again, no install the update again. Why huh?? Pls help!
