QUOTE(doremon @ Mar 24 2009, 09:06 AM)
Morning to all you fine people. Just wanna ask something. I am a Michelin fan. Planning to change my tire next year 2010. Currently a bit confuse on selecting tires. They have Michelin Pilot Sport Tire or Michelin Pilot Perada2 (the one I am using now).

Should i stick with PP2 or get the new Michelin type?

195/55/R15

Also is there any black lugnut that can't tarnish or shade off color each time we wash our car (carwash shop) and do balancing?

Thankz in advance you guyz

QUOTE(azbro @ Mar 25 2009, 10:57 AM)
err..I used to lepak with Michelin fanz...I can tell you they are really single minded stuckup batch of ppl...haha..

For the 195/55/15....get the PP2...

XM1 for Mileage
MXV8 so call comfort
PP2,,high performance series
PS2..ultra high performance
PSCup....Extreme..

PS2 and PScup dun come in 15 inch bro...if got I oledi fitted..

Btw...what Michelin Sport Tire are you talking abt here...they have got a few..if go to Michelin tire shop...sometimes can see imported unknown models that is meant for other markets...so, I'm not so sure which one you mention.
*
Mostly the market here is for PP2...

Compare 2 Michellin Pilot Tires...
there are only 2 types BTW... what i got from the website...
and it have Ultra High Performance and High Performance...

BTW if you wanna know the local name...
print out from the webpage then go and compare...
that is what i do...

BTW... latest... i survey back at my hometown... Ipoh

Michellin PP2 195/55/R15 RM270/tire 4 pcs... for Vios

Michellin XM1 185/70/R14 RM220/tire 4 pcs... for Avanza

Bridgestone ??? 185/70/R14 RM210/tire 4 pcs... for Avanza

Ipoh...
sorry correction done...
eh... i asked at Klang last year only cost around RM210 without Alignment...
Another is PJ Kelana Jaya around RM250 if not mistaken everything include...

I bought my PP2 185/55 R15 for my Vios at RM175 at Klang March last year...

BTW any Yokohama/Bridgestone user here which are using 195/55 R15 or 195/50 R15 user...

please comment on your tires... i need to change mine... travel a lot... when to SG 2 times and Ipoh every 4~5 weeks...

as a PP2 user here i can say Good at all round... good traction at wet and good hydroplaning...
seldom need to hold the steering hard even raining like cats and dogs... I'm driving 130~140km/h tat time

wear n tear for yokohama will not b suitable for u~
if u're from sales line then u might wanna try Bfgoodrich but bear wit da noise a bit cuz it's slightly noisier than PP2 but mileage certainly better is than PP2~
jus my 2 cent~

I do agree..good all rounder...the first time I used I was surprised old fashion thread design can cut water that good...Michelin really did their homework....but I didn't like it so much because the tires didn't feel 'sport' enough...response time was slow (like grandpa tires), dry grip can still break traction (lucky still controllable), there is some resonance coming it to the cabin due to the variable side pitch, bumpiness was OTT ...what I really respect PP2 is the built quality even if its thailand, easy maintenance and good wet performance....its a very good OEM replacement...but I wanted more...so I went for extreme category instead.

what do you bought??? mind to share???

at this moment (11 yrs) of dirving... michellin never disappointed me...
i used stock tires of Vios... it sucks... 30% left... start the skid when i going down hill and brake...
Hydroplaning sucks also... thats y i never use that brand...
and seldom i drive car with other brands of tires... coz my dad is a michellin supporter...
as it serve us well and never fail to impress...

I prefer a little sporty, with good wet condition... tear and wear... er... not that much of a problem..
my PP2 can last me around 1.5 years... happy enough...
BTW i'm using PP2 at Vios and SEG also... both R15...
I wanna try Yokohama or Bridgestone for me SEG... for Vios i think i still stick at PP2...
coz good good wet test result... looking at the website for update of result...
unless there is any brand of tires have better test results... smile.gif

I'm using Advan Neova AD07 for my Vios...will change to AD08 when it comes out...I love to corner really fast...so I expect the best grips in the dry..of course the stock Vios suspension has been upgraded abit....corners hard with totally no wobble...in heavy rain...AD07 is good until 80kmh only...so i drive sensibly. I change my tires yearly (or 30,000km)...so it will not wear down to more than 70%...still safe in the wets.
PP2 are good tires...but not exciting enough for me....response time felt slow (unlike the razor sharp F1 GSD3)...would make an awesome OEM replacement...i mark it down for its bumpiness and slight noise resonance.
AD07 is more bumpier...but more rewarding with crazy amounts of grip....of course cannot compare a high performer with a extreme performer. High performance are more all rounder...extreme more to dry.

Why V8RS?...that one is to finish the old stock....no kidding....now..its V12Evo all the way..looks like a copycat S Drive..but performance ppl. say it still above average..

Yokohama Parada Spec 2 = Best tire ever, cheap and good. Genting pek corner damn smooth and fast. My next tire change, I'm going for this again. Just used for 10,000km, freaking chunted.

I also wanted to get the Parada Spec2...but I get reviews the sidewall is softer than AD07...and the 'made in Philippines' just turn me off...if you like Parada, try its mama...the AD07...or AD08 when it comes out.
AD08 has steel reinforced sidewall inserts and better wet performance than the AD07.

It doesn't matter where the tires are made from. Last time I used ST115 made in Japan, expensive and lousier than Parada.
