QUOTE(doremon @ Mar 24 2009, 09:06 AM)
Morning to all you fine people. Just wanna ask something. I am a Michelin fan. Planning to change my tire next year 2010. Currently a bit confuse on selecting tires. They have Michelin Pilot Sport Tire or Michelin Pilot Perada2 (the one I am using now).

Should i stick with PP2 or get the new Michelin type?

195/55/R15

Also is there any black lugnut that can't tarnish or shade off color each time we wash our car (carwash shop) and do balancing?

Thankz in advance you guyz

QUOTE(azbro @ Mar 25 2009, 10:57 AM)
err..I used to lepak with Michelin fanz...I can tell you they are really single minded stuckup batch of ppl...haha..

For the 195/55/15....get the PP2...

XM1 for Mileage
MXV8 so call comfort
PP2,,high performance series
PS2..ultra high performance
PSCup....Extreme..

PS2 and PScup dun come in 15 inch bro...if got I oledi fitted..

Btw...what Michelin Sport Tire are you talking abt here...they have got a few..if go to Michelin tire shop...sometimes can see imported unknown models that is meant for other markets...so, I'm not so sure which one you mention.
*
Mostly the market here is for PP2...

Compare 2 Michellin Pilot Tires...
there are only 2 types BTW... what i got from the website...
and it have Ultra High Performance and High Performance...

BTW if you wanna know the local name...
print out from the webpage then go and compare...
that is what i do...

BTW... latest... i survey back at my hometown... Ipoh

Michellin PP2 195/55/R15 RM270/tire 4 pcs... for Vios

Michellin XM1 185/70/R14 RM220/tire 4 pcs... for Avanza

Bridgestone ??? 185/70/R14 RM210/tire 4 pcs... for Avanza

Ipoh...
sorry correction done...
eh... i asked at Klang last year only cost around RM210 without Alignment...
Another is PJ Kelana Jaya around RM250 if not mistaken everything include...

I bought my PP2 185/55 R15 for my Vios at RM175 at Klang March last year...

BTW any Yokohama/Bridgestone user here which are using 195/55 R15 or 195/50 R15 user...

please comment on your tires... i need to change mine... travel a lot... when to SG 2 times and Ipoh every 4~5 weeks...

as a PP2 user here i can say Good at all round... good traction at wet and good hydroplaning...
seldom need to hold the steering hard even raining like cats and dogs... I'm driving 130~140km/h tat time

I hate michellin Pilot Tires, they got bad review for sound, can you guys just tell me which of the two listed is better>??
*
what do you mean of the 2 listed???
sound.. you have to bear a bit on that as for the performance tires...

QUOTE(cheeann @ Mar 25 2009, 11:40 PM)
wear n tear for yokohama will not b suitable for u~
if u're from sales line then u might wanna try Bfgoodrich but bear wit da noise a bit cuz it's slightly noisier than PP2 but mileage certainly better is than PP2~
jus my 2 cent~
depending on wat car r u driving also~
performance tires neva come silent/quite but have u tried compare old tires like pirelli, falken ziex or silverstone FTZ b4??  wink.gif
*
Yes you said are rite... sound is not really low for these tires...

QUOTE(azbro @ Mar 26 2009, 10:36 AM)
I do agree..good all rounder...the first time I used I was surprised old fashion thread design can cut water that good...Michelin really did their homework....but I didn't like it so much because the tires didn't feel 'sport' enough...response time was slow (like grandpa tires), dry grip can still break traction (lucky still controllable), there is some resonance coming it to the cabin due to the variable side pitch, bumpiness was OTT ...what I really respect PP2 is the built quality even if its thailand, easy maintenance and good wet performance....its a very good OEM replacement...but I wanted more...so I went for extreme category instead.
*
what do you bought??? mind to share???

at this moment (11 yrs) of dirving... michellin never disappointed me...
i used stock tires of Vios... it sucks... 30% left... start the skid when i going down hill and brake...
Hydroplaning sucks also... thats y i never use that brand...
and seldom i drive car with other brands of tires... coz my dad is a michellin supporter...
as it serve us well and never fail to impress...

I prefer a little sporty, with good wet condition... tear and wear... er... not that much of a problem..
my PP2 can last me around 1.5 years... happy enough...
BTW i'm using PP2 at Vios and SEG also... both R15...
I wanna try Yokohama or Bridgestone for me SEG... for Vios i think i still stick at PP2...
coz good good wet test result... looking at the website for update of result...
unless there is any brand of tires have better test results... smile.gif

if you wan sportier... you can try Yokohama Parada... RM160 if not mistaken...

QUOTE(amduser @ Mar 27 2009, 05:22 PM)

*

or they will say, F1 cars all no thread, still can go 300km/h, y we cannot? icon_rolleyes.gif

haha ok ok...
they have thread... but only linear (direntional) not pattern like us...

QUOTE(ceo684 @ Mar 30 2009, 08:06 PM)
Raining time then accident/lose control, then only want to kan cheong change tyres  laugh.gif

For me, 195/50/15 Parada Spec 2 = soft sidewalls lah. Even at 38psi.

Loved the 185/55/15 PP2 hard sidewalls and sharp shoulder blocks (like "L" only).. but tramlining more noticeable for PP2 as compared to parada spec 2
*
well any place to change Parada cheap??? I heard Seri Kembangan have 1 shop... RM160 only...
my Vios and SEG tires not that well already... just changed Avanza... sad.gif

QUOTE(ralf @ Mar 31 2009, 08:47 AM)
38psi? overinflate the tyre to make sidewall harder is wrong. blink.gif

overinflate too much, that means the contact patch between road is less hence less traction...cannot even sapu Corner, less grip..skid like mad.. rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif
*
well hard tires does save more fuel... but also very bumpy... and not to say... sometime it may burst...
coz very pressure... they have spec.... careful...

mostly la... my cars... 34PSI front... 32PSI back... Michelin recommend ppl to add 2~4 PSI...
because of the tires will get hot after you drive a distance to the shop or petrol station...

but for PP2 i don recommend that hard... 34 PSI is the max...

when the tire is hot as per Michelin info it is around 4~6 PSI more...
no worries... if you did not over that

yes normally they charge 4~5 per tyres...

hmm you must know quiet does not means good wet condition tracking...
you have to compensate with some of the Pro and Cons of the tyre...

Look at the ranking of the all season passanger tyres

but never use NCT5 any more... scary... shakehead.gif
it wet condition performance sucks... remember not to drive fast when you are low on thread...

haha... for NCT5... with 20% left i suggest you have to drive becareful during rainy days...
especially at corners... i think drive 50km/h should be ok...

that tire only can drive if you have <30% or <5mmmore thread left... less then that dangerous...

Hi guys, i want to double confirm whether there is 205/55/16 for michelin mxv8? The michelin site is down. I was quoted Rm370 in sunway. Ok?

I also found out that Continental CC is not available for 205/55/16. Only CS1 is available.

i duno... don feel comfort with Conti any more...
the choice for me is Michellin, Bridgestone and Yokohama... Toyo of course la... but expensive...
i think Bridgestone and Yokohama good choice if you want cheaper than Michelin
