As an auditor, preferably you gotta have your own transport as you'll need to travel to client's office often.
However, in small firm, you may not need it because you can sit senior's car.
An ordinary Axia Automatic is around 300+ monthly, definitely affordable, my 2 cents.

Was planning to own a car after few months of working as currently I just graduated. Need sometime to save for downpayment .
Anyway, thank you so much for the advise biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Plan things ahead is my habit, I can't resist.

Also I'm confident I can go in, priority is pwc, but will apply all 4 anyway, I'm sure 1 of them is going to accept me.

What are the 3 stages of interview anyway? You make it sound like very difficult.

confident is good. But never over-confident. Everytime they invited 20-30+ candidate for interview, all of them are well-qualified. However, more than half of the candidates fail during their interview. Not going to share their interview stages. If you can pass the interview, meaning that you are capable to work for them. bruce.gif bruce.gif bruce.gif

Wow even well qualified still can fail to go in, I've heard of cases like this too, my friend 3.9 and got rejected.

I hope i don't fck up the interview, any tips?
I already know basic interview techniques, just need interview techniques specifically for big 4.
Also, in case if i failed, can i shamelessly try again in next round?

Hi guys, I am a fresh graduate looking for audit associate position in Big4s as well as Medium size firm.

May I know what is the processing time for Application for most of the mid-term firm like Mazars, Bakertilly or Crowe Horwath ?

Besides, Is it possible for me to apply for audit associate position if I don't possessed my own transport? I am staying far away from the big firms and it takes me approximately 1 hour to work if happens that they recruit me.

Really need some advice on this. Much appreciate if you can give some feedback on this thumbsup.gif

Why Not ?
Most of the people probably reach office around 9am+-, so discipline yourself and manage the time nicely.

I used to tavel to work by public transport (LRT) when i was with one of the medium size firm in KL.

Fyi,
CH located at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng which is accessible from KLCC LRT station
Mazars located at Wisma Selangor Dredging, which is accesible from KLCC LRT station
Bakertilly located at Bangsar South which is accessible from Kerinchi LRT station
EY, KP, Deloitte are accessible from new MRT.
PWC located KL sentral

Actually EY, Deloitte and KPMG are reachable by MRT; but as auditors you won't be spending a lot of time in office. As to where you are going to work depends on what clients you are assigned to.

If you have access to public transport and do not want to rely on carpool with senior or uber/grab, you can apply to work for banking/insurance industries. Most of the financial institution offices are located in central KL and would be accessible by public transport

But I think the previous advice is true, focus on getting a job first, the transport issue can be sorted out later.

Why PwC?
I don't think there's specific interview techniques for big 4. Just be genuinely enthusiastic about working in audit instead of asking too much of those questions you asked here

The car pool or claims arrangement differ by firm and client, some more stingy than others. I don't know the latest trend though

Thanks for the comment guys.

Earlier due to transportation problem I have applied analyst account receivables position in a MNC and they have arrange an interview with me on next Monday. Salary offered is 2.45k and is located nearer to my house as compared to KL. This is the only pros if I happens to be recruited by them.

Now my main concern is I am afraid that this position would not beneficial for my future career as the company do not prepare full sets of account by their own, which means I will be only focus on doing Account Receivables part only. Besides, if I work in commercial company, the exposure is much narrow as compare to an auditor.

I have sent my application earlier this week to mid-size audit firm in KL which can be reached by taking public transport and is currently waiting for their reply.

I am now in dilemma of choosing commercial firm and audit firm. If the interview on next Monday go smooth and they decided to hire me, should I accept the offer? or I should wait for the career opportunity to be an auditor. Really need some advice on this.

Hey there,

May I know how long is your travelling time to office? Is an hour of travelling time to KL using LRT is consider long for you?
And do you encounter any problem when you work overtime (e.g: OT until mid night, LRT has closed)?

This is my main concern regarding working in KL. I don't mind working long hour, just that if I was to OT until midnight, how am I going back home?

Ya I have done my research on the company location before I sent I application as I don't possess my own transport.

Thank you for the information btw biggrin.gif

1 hour is still consider normal for some of the working people.

Sleep at your office. Auditor often do so. nod.gif nod.gif nod.gif

Don't pick your career just because your career is near to your current place. You will regret later. IF you really WANT to become auditor, go for audit firm, aim for the highest. At least next time your resume is LOT better than others.

Then should I wait for the reply from the application I sent to medium firm and reject the interview at MNC? I personally have strong passion in audit and the obstacles is that I don't own a car.

You should go and take this opportunity to familiar yourself with interview. Take this interview as your practice and You might actually understand which part of your interview need to improve.

Give yourself a range of period (6 month/ 9 month / 1 year).Within these period, apply only the audit firm that you keen to work with and wait for their reply. If you don't get it, then only consider to enter other company. Don't keep throwing your resume everywhere because you will often face this kind of dilemma. FYI, big firm like big4, their whole process of intake can last up to 3 month (screening 1 month, 1st interview 1 month, 2nd interview 1 month). ohmy.gif ohmy.gif ohmy.gif

So unless you got financial problem that you need to work ASAP, if not better wait for the best option. ~ CHEER ~
