QUOTE(pokmaster @ Feb 14 2008, 10:17 AM) Paradise stress easily and can die due to stress if handled to often and even with constant handling, most of the time they can't be tamed. Once they are established, they will learn that you are not going to harm them when handled(this takes awhile and does not always happen as some snakes can never be "tamed"). On a side note, you should always be prepared to get bitten if you keep snakes. Babies are small, juvies are slightly bigger, sub-adults are even bigger and adults get a little bigger than the sub adults and can mateUhmm.... so what is a 1 feet Pueblan milk? Baby or juvi?

I would say juvie....though one feet is still quite small....why does it matter so much?

A. He's used to human contact until he's comfortable with it.
B. He's too stressed out and jaded that he doesn't bother.
If I were you I would take choice B for now because it's the safer choice to have in mind. Wild caught PTS specimens are usually a bit flighty and nervous, but don't really bite for no reason. I agree that they are not like ballies and Kings as they can't be handled that often. Handling any snake actually stresses them anyhow but we do it so they can get used to us. Even for this reason, handling should be minimal with any snake.
There have been cases of snakes dying from over handling, but handling them for about 5 - 10 minutes twice a week is not so bad, just not everyday.

I'm thinking of offering my service here.... I own 2 corn snakes and breed my own feeder mice.... The problem is I've got 25 new pinkies the last 3 days.... 9 hoppers.... 8 hoppers were killed by stray cats.... I was so happy that they were killed So, anybody who got 3~6 month old corn snake can let me take care as an adopted pet... just to take care my mice population lah.....

Make sure the food is throughly thawed or may cause some digestion problems. Warm it up with your hands before feeding. Good that it's eating.

Hi there austinlai... i told u it takes 2 lizards per feeding...one week b4 i sold to u i fed it with 2 lizards n after that it just shed 3 days b4 i sold to u... i told u that it just shedded n most snakes wont eat just after shedding..moreover the change of environment again causes it not to eat so thats why i guarantee u that the copperhead will eat except that u gotta wait for it to settle down in the new environment first...Plz bear in mind that i don sell sick or unhealthy snnakes....Normally when i get a snake i wont sell it immediately cos i gotta see the snake eat in front of my eyes b4 i sell...then only i dare to guarantee the snake eats...As for the agressiveness that u ask me i think i have shown n proven to u liao right ? double ss so i think u should be satisfied n very happy now austinlai but ur mangroove is still not eating he he,, i think ur mangroove is about to shed cos i see it in the water bowl always n thats why i m not worried about it eating or not ...most snakes wont eat when its about to shed..If u find that the copperhead is too agressive try not to give it the hide n leave it open otherwise go ahead with the hide if its not too agressive ...Take good care of the copperhead cos i know u r gonna enjoy urself with it....

I left the frozen pinky in the room temperature for approximately 2 hours, then pour warm water over the pinky to warm it up a bit. Boleh?

i tried before, leaving your snakes without a hide will only stress it, so much so that they wont eat their next meal.. so for safety reasons, i think a hide should be provided at all times.. juz my 2 cents

I don't think it is fair to stress your snake by not providing a hide. It is just like forcing you to leave all your doors and windows in your home opened at all times. I also can reason that when you have no choice, over time , you also can get used to the situation and live normally. Right?

Ya, copperhead is a very shy snake. I should know because I am also a copperhead keeper. I have raised this one from cacing size and this guy can take down adult size mouse now, Among all the snake I kept, this one does not allow me to watch him eat.
