lol... dont feel sorry at all...

met some nice people and got good advice in the process =P

i come back from school.. i saw one plant uprooted...then i look at him..

then he look back at me like damn innocent only =.=

EDIT : Oh yeah and I got question.. I fed him yesterday and he ate.... then.. is it okay for me to handle him today?
I read on some websites saying I cannot handle them for 2 days after feeding and then some say it is good to handle them for 5 minutes daily to
get them accustomed to handling.. .I'm confused... =.=

There are some snakes that cannot tolerate handling, some that can tolerate occasional handling, and some that can be handled almost everyday.

PTS should not be handled daily. Occasional handling would be better. For now better don't handle it for the next few days. It's probably adapting to the new environment and handling it will only stress it.

Fren my advise will be that u handle the snake 24hours after feeding....U should try handling it often so that it wil be accustomed to handling n it wont be sliding away from u when u handle it....snakes that r not used to handling will try to flick ur hands away from them n slide very fast trying to get out of ur grip....I handle my snakes everyday for about 10 to 15mins...Sometimes i even take my snakes out for shower after feeding them then wipe them dry n put them back into the toyogo....its healthier n cleaner but be careful of the handling cos they r still full...its advisable to handle ur snakes if they can be handled for about 5 to 10 mins daily to get them accustomed to u ... but i don know if the rest of u snake lovers agree with me or not....thats what i do with all my 11 snakes....even my 5ft rectic ....not every snake likes the same way of handling so u must learn how to handle different snakes n especially when u have a few different types of snake at home...e.g. handling a ball python n a burmese is totally different cos burmese tends to hiss at u when u open the toyogo...handling a copperhead n a mangroove is also different cos copperheads are very fast n ur action must be similar to theirs too...one wrong move n u see a double SS he he he..Well unfazedgamer u gotta try handling ur paradise n learn how to handle it so much so that it wont feel stressed n rest on ur hand or fingers...never use force but handle ur snake with smooth action so that it wont be stressed.. U can see those snakes on show.. how relaxed n tame they r ? their handlers play with them everyday n also learn how to handle them without the snakes getting stressed n u see how the snakes canlepak on ur shoulder n body ? So my advise is u can handle ur snake everyday but minimize the time to about 10 to 15 mins thats all.....Different ppl got different points of view n i cant say that i m right so if i m wrong i hope u all can correct me......Thats the main purpose of a forum .... he he he have a nice day

its normal for snake to be tired and sleepy after eating, similar to humans. hehe.. and thats why you dont have to feed snakes so often, cos they take time to digest their food.

and the yellow and watery stuff you see is not poop, but urate. its actually the snake's pee, and after leaving for awhile, they will dry up smile.gif
so, there's nothing wrong with your snake

oh!! the yellow stuff was pee... .i see... okay okay..

cool... haha..

oh and by the way, had a stupid idea...

since feeders sometimes are powdered with calcium.. i was wondering if powdering a lizard with milo will provide extra nutrients?

or are some of the ingredients bad for the snake... just a newbie asking newb question... blush.gif

Milo shouldn't be simply fed to animals. Cocoa is toxic to a majority of animals, so better not risk it. They don't need supplements as long as you keep the feeders healthy and on a good diet.

handled the snake just now for 3 minutes...

he was pretty calm... just staying still wrapped around my hand....

when i reached in for him slowly..., he just let me pick him up and he slowly uncoiled from the bamboo...

so cute hehe...

That's a pretty calm snake for a supposedly quite aggressive species. A wild caught some more!

Very sooon i willl hear that u r getting another snake ha ha ha...U will definitely be poisoned later...

I would highly disagree against that. paradise are usually very flighty, active snakes by nature and most would not hesitate to bite(and they are very fast bitters). I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with this snake but a usually active snake that is acting very calm can mean a few problems. They shouldn't be handled as often as other snakes(ball pythons, corn snakes ect.....) and handling should be minimized as much as possible and only when needed(e.g. cleaning enclosure, administering medication...). They are a great show snake as they have one of the most beautiful colouration in the reptile kingdom but I wouldn't recommend them as pets to be handled. If you must handle them though I would advice handing them about once a week.

But won't the snake be unfamiliar with us and be more likely to bite if we don't handle them often? Does that means we should be prepared to get bitten during maintenance?

Oh by the way, how do we categorize between a baby, juvenile, sub-adult and adult snake?

Paradise stress easily and can die due to stress if handled to often and even with constant handling, most of the time they can't be tamed. Once they are established, they will learn that you are not going to harm them when handled(this takes awhile and does not always happen as some snakes can never be "tamed"). On a side note, you should always be prepared to get bitten if you keep snakes.

Babies are small, juvies are slightly bigger, sub-adults are even bigger and adults get a little bigger than the sub adults and can mate
