hydraulic engine mounts usually used only in high end cars such as Porsche and also certain cars with diesel engines such as the Honda Amaze. The main advantage of hydraulic mounts is it helps in reducing NVH. The fluid in the mounting chamber helps in absorbing the vibration and shock produced by the engine and as a result, the vehicle's NVH level can be reduced.
Cons? Cost and durability issues. It is expensive than a solid rubber mount and often the rubber which holds the hydraulic fluid chamber will develop cracks due to engine heat and this causes failure due to oil leakage. |
