QUOTE(sai2 @ Nov 2 2015, 09:05 PM) I'm existing old unifi vip10 customer. If they are going to reduce the price for old plan few months later, then maybe i wouldn't upgrade to new unifi advance since i'm pretty satisfy with the speed now, especially upload speed. Is there any new plan from maxis or new competitor like MyRepublic coming soon ? Should i upgrade now or wait longer to see what happen .... MyRepublic will probably take a long time to get their license approved.

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Nov 3 2015, 06:30 PM) They don't "select by random" lol. They have a list, a very long list to go through. The TM tele agents has zero reason not to call those who hasn't upgraded. Their pay is largely commission based on top of their bare minimum wage. Got money don't want to take? What kinda telemarketer is that dumb? Cannot wait then go TMpoint straight and do on the spot. Simple. I'm loyal customer with UniFi for 3 years++ but not a single call from telemarketer makes me wonder if the list is really random or not.

QUOTE(Zi-Tech @ Nov 4 2015, 10:33 PM) it will effect the ping and speed as you are using internet bandwidth.... hypptv is using another bandwidth which is different vlan tagging... As long as the router can handle that much amount of traffic or else it will start to affect the overall speed also just by using hypptv which rarely happen.

QUOTE(kianwee @ Nov 5 2015, 07:19 AM) Guys, Asus RT-N66U N900 router any good to replace my Asus RT-N12C1? I can get it at RM450, good price? Since you are upgrading from Asus RT-N12C1, you are better off getting a 802.11ac router no point buying 802.11n.

QUOTE(kianwee @ Nov 5 2015, 10:00 AM) Does the dual band makes whole lot of difference in term of signal penetration to upstairs? In terms of speed stability, yes. Penetration power, no.

QUOTE(hexogen @ Nov 7 2015, 12:43 PM) so intermittent and high latency is also part of "FAIR USAGE POLICY" ? TM's international routing is totally fucked up so fucking congested at peak hour.

QUOTE(hexogen @ Nov 7 2015, 12:53 PM) haha your statement remind me of this particular event "Earlier today a massive route leak initiated by Telekom Malaysia (AS4788) caused significant network problems for the global routing system. Primarily affected was Level3 (AS3549 – formerly known as Global Crossing) and their customers." TM's network engineer so clever . They managed to find a way to wreck global internet routing.

I don't understand why some guys keep ranting about slow buffering on YT but yet I can load 1080p @ 5Mbps at most 1 time rebuffer in 5 min.

QUOTE(ruffstuff @ Nov 8 2015, 08:24 AM) YT streaming is not about peak hours. It is about localization of the content to the nearest server. Google server will cache its videos to the location where there is lot of hits for load balancing. If the videos you are watching getting lots of hits from MY user, those video will be cache in Google singapore server. Most of the video I watched is South American music video, so that principle doesn't apply to me.

QUOTE(divo90 @ Nov 8 2015, 04:28 PM) Anyone know how to upgrade from 1mbps to 4mbps ? The answer from TM agent is that the port for 4mbps / 8mbps is full . The house is not in rural area but in the middle of Sungai Petani township . Already 3 times apply for upgrade , still same answer Anyone know or got inside man that have way to upgrade the internet speed . DM me * 1 mbps too slow for me . 2015 still 1mbps !! Malaysia ku . Unfortunately you will have to reserve 4Mbps plan so that when it's available, TM will upgrade for you immediately. If you really need something faster, consider wireless broadband.
