The SPB081 is only limited to 1000pcs right? Saw one with a serial number of xxxx/2018 at the caseback. Is that legit?

So the 1k limited version is the JDM sbdc059, whereas the spb081 is not correct. The photo of 081 i saw got limited edition engraved on the caseback

I'm going to Hokkaido next month, are seikos there much cheaper compared to here? Any recommended shops to go to? Thanks

I wanna ask all the sifu here, if there is any shop in the malls actually offers glass replacement for sapphire for brands like Seiko/Orient? As much as I know about the Hardlex glass or other mineral glass that are still scratch resistant I actually like the clarity of the sapphire and also its more resistance to scratches

Have a question to ask you guys, why do you people are only like to choose the watch with dark/black dial? So now I should prove that you are wrong. In fact, white dial is actually quite beautiful too. The watch that I am wearing is not a 100% white dial but it is actually a silver white dial.

I don't like the watch with tachymeter and chronograph looks. Even is a Rolex priced at RM1,000,000 with tachymeter also looks so ugly for me. I don't care about the watch hands whether is luminous or not. The most important is the watch looks clean, simple, beautiful and shiny. Also, I don't like the watches with ugly steel bracelet, so I should upgrade to leather straps if I bought a Seiko 5 watch. My requirement is quite simple, must be an automatic mechanical watch, at least has a date on the dial display (for best if can showing both day and date like the Seiko 5 watches). Shiny dial and not necessary need a skeleton dial. Case size should be around 38 - 40mm, I don't like the big 42mm case watches because my wrist is too small and skinny.

I was used to be a Casio G-Shock favorite user during I was a kid. However, I am now an adult and no more pursue that kind of ugly looks G-Shock watches. When we people grew up, the taste will change. Kids like G-Shock because the shape is beautiful but now I was felt that G-Shock watches are so ugly. Kids like digital watches but adults like automatic mechanical watches. It is same like I look at the tachymeter and chronograph watches. Especially is tachymeter watches, they looks so ugly for me because I don't like the watch got printed 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60 on the case. Too many numbers on the watch, makes the surface so dirty and complicated. Just simply I can describe a tachymeter watch as "ugly".

After some time of buying a few cheap mechanical seikos, i have finally decided that i would one day aim to keep only 3 watches in my box. still not doing anything about it yet but it is an end goal for future

1. a Diver for casual, most probably Seiko, with modded parts
2. a Digital for abuse, no better option than a Casio G-shock
3. a Dress for special occasions, still undecided on this but it should be a very special piece i can best afford.

so as much as i was mad at Casio for not storing replacement parts for >10 years old g-shocks despite advertising themselves to be rough tough watch, i have come to terms that digitals are meant to be disposable anyway, unlike mechanicals which we can service for as long as the parts are available.

One day. Future. not now mah...

now i am still enjoying seeing my watch box filled with un-worn watches while my wife bising that it act as dust magnet in the room.
