QUOTE(gxthelord @ Mar 22 2017, 01:08 AM) if done properly, 1 service could last you 10 years before needing the next service, if worn carefully. even then only some cleaning and re-oiling and then change the rubber gasket and nothing much to be done. shorter duration if your watch is dropped, or kena impact bad enough to affect the timekeeping. on average it costs about rm120+/- (depending on shops lah) for a single full service not inclusive of parts. |

QUOTE(DeepMemory @ Mar 28 2017, 01:52 PM) I am liking my Seiko Samurai very much so was planning getting another Seiko for my brother at around rm500-600 budget. Any models to recommend? He prefer none steel bands. Probably an srp mini monster or an snzh fff if you're looking for a diver style but they came stock with steel band.Snzg for mil style. Anyway bands is not an issue can always swap out |

QUOTE(unixcorp @ May 1 2017, 12:42 PM) Ohh.. So i can buy a Seiko watch and fit it with sapphire glass? And how much will it cost? Price depends on which kind of sapphire u want.Considering Seiko skx009 right now for daily usage.. Here's some https://crystaltimes.net/shop/popular-models/skx007-plus/ The labour cost to get it installed at a watch shop is usually a few tens of rm. |

Depends on how strong and duration it has been exposed. If just normal led torch nope it isnt strong enuf. If car headlamp for 30 seconds, it will bebright for a few mins and dims down but still retains a hint of glow for next half hour.

QUOTE(ZintanthraX @ May 8 2017, 10:26 AM) i don't know how true this is, but from what i read somewhere, UV light is also one of the best option. do you have access to a UV lamp? those that you use to check money notes also can be used. but u gotta expose it for at least a minute long and same thing, it is bright for only a while and only retains residual glow for the next half hour. u want long term glow in the dark, u get a microlight gas tube watch. or an indiglo watch that lights up using battery. |
