I just got a samsung 932b, but the problem is, the picture looks kinds of ugly in my windows. The icons are kinda blury as though the icons are stretched. The colour is really bright and the color doesn't seem very good.

I was wondering whether the problem is with my windows, GC, or lcd? Or maybe it is due to my surrounding? My house lighting is not very bright making viewing the lcd very straeneous.

Is there a program that I could use to set/optimise the setting? The default program that comes with the lcd doesn't seem to do much.

Maybe a 932b user could post their setting so I could try replicating it ans see if it helps?

Edit : I have set my resolution to the proposed resolution of 1280 x 1024 @ 60hz but still no difference.

i compared this monitor with dell ultrasharp 1907FP...
result is 932b kinda blury, no matter icon or text...

My screenshot

This is a "print screen" screenshot taken. Wonder whether you guys could see what I'm seeing over here.

Just notice the colour difference. And please advice whether should I send it back to the shop.

The actual site the screenshot is taken is http://www.northlight-images.co.uk/viewing.html

SkyDriver: Oh but it seems there is so many good reviews about 932b, it couldn't be that so many got it wrong and still give two thumbs up to it can it?

Are you using DVI connection? I am using the + version of this monitor and everything seems nice to me. Are you using ClearType font?

Added on June 4, 2007, 12:14 amAdd - I didn't bother to tune the settings. I just use Dynamic Contrast and Magic Tune + DVI. So there is basically nothing that I can configure when these 3 are put together

^Use both analog and dvi, makes no difference at all, still so ugly. I was wondering also could it be a faulty OS >.<, because when it display the windows xp startup screen, it is also very ugly, same goes to the bios screen, like 256 colour, could see clearly all the pixel.

I tried your setting previously, and it was really bright and the colour is terrible in desktop. Using standard font, ClearType font and standard doesn't seem to have any difference.

Also, I too am using the plus version, it seems that the plus and non plus is exactly the same, no difference at all. Specification mention says it all.

You could try looking at the screenshot I posted and tell me if you could see what I'm seeing. Please compare with the original by visiting the website that I've visited.

However, in games, it isn't that as bad as desktop. Some games that I could previously play very smooth however now appears laggy and tired. But it might have to do with the resolution setting as the game doesn't seem to support 1280 x 1024. So, it looks to be stretched to my 19".

Select Appearance Tab.
Click on Effects button.
Tick the checkbox "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts:"
And select ClearType.

Hello to everyone here. I wanna ask for advice from you guys.

My Dell 2007FP, which I bought last year, begin to show dead pixels at the upper right edge of the screen. I would like to call Dell to replace it. Mine is a S-PVA panel.
I would like to know whether Dell still uses S-PVA/S-IPS for 2007FP or they have changed to low grade TN panel? If it is TN panel, I would rather not changed it.

The difference is not alot like I've reported earlier sad.gif. The colour remains terrible, a bright colour will be very bright whilst a dark colour is too dark.

But well, after getting used to it, I don't think it's that terrible anymore but the sad part is it's me getting used to the LCD not the other way round. I simply had to bear with it.

Using magictune's dynamic contrast is still not feasible or for the matter any of magictune's setting, it's simply too bright unless I wish to wear specs very soon and I really mean real soon.

The trouble now is in order for me to use internet explorer, I need to customise the brightness and contrast to a very very low level, current setting is brightness on 18 contrast 38. Dynamic contrast default setting is 100 and 80. With that setting, all the white background will really simply just "blind" me. It's really taxing to use the LCD at the moment. It's suppose to be the other way round >.<.

A question, is your surrounding very bright when you use the LCD?

At that time, there's white bulbs above me. Still I find the LCD isn't what it supposed to be. MagicBright, yes, WAY to0 bright. The contrast level isn't good at all. The color isn't fresh as of what I seen in most LCD. Its like even Acer is better than 932B. BTW, tested over at my working place is PLUS revision.

931c have better response time compared to 932b
and of course 931c is more expensive than 932b

Base on user experience, I strongly advice against 932B, it's the worst LCD I've come across so far, even every single office LCD that I've been to beat this, it practically score a zero in my rating test.

I really have zero idea why people recommend 932b.

Most probably your screen is faulty or there is some problem with your GC. Give those 2 a check. Perhaps you need to RMA your screen

Because people who are using it such as me find it to be a great LCD monitor, worth every cent paid for.

Is your LCD sharp? Anyway, could you provide your settings for your LCD? Or you're using magic bright? Or simply at default setting?

Also, what about your GC? Is it at default setting?

the thing about 932B, from end-user perspective they always compared with similar screen size and different brand then they compare it price wise
i guess what appeals end-user is samsung boasting its 2000:1 dynamic contrast and not knowing it had 700:1 effective

Yes, tested with my secondary PC, looks just as bad. I am now only considering the fact that my monitor is not calibrated properly or that it's defective, gonna bring back to shop for checkup again.

Seriously, I kinda lost confidence on samsung, I actually didn't want to get a samsung lcd but due to quite a number of people recommending it, not forgetting websites as well, I decided to go for it, thinking it couldn't go any real bad considering so many people love it, but now, I'm stuck with a bad LCD IMO.

All my colour is jumble up, this is most apparent in desktop and internet explorer.

In desktop, my icons are blur. In internet explorer, the "background white" is blinding me.

So the only feasible option was for me to lower the brightness and contrast to a very very low level. And my gamma too.

So, I am trying to get people to tell their settings or at least how to calibrate this LCD monitor to display the colour it should be.

So far, seems that most use the settings at default or magicbright and all isn't feasible to me, it's to bright, light colours appear too bright/light and dark colour appear too dark.

When I visit sites that test your monitor by displaying a set of shades of colours, it look terribly ugly to me. I don't know whether those sites are accurate or not as I have yet to get a good LCD running at those sites.

All I can say is it's frustrating to pay more for this 19" LCD and yet to me it seems much more inferior to others. It post 5ms but to me, in some video, I could really feel there is ghosting effect.

But well, this is my experience with it but it seems there is tons of many others who are having good experience with it so I may be exceptional, I don't know.
