Guys, this is a community service notice, a simple heads up message. I have managed to secure the Auditorium at Mediaplex KLCC, for tomorrow's HD-DVD playtest .But this also presents a chance for those with Xbox 360s to try out your games(imagine Gears or War on 1080p via VGA, or 1080i via Component on 100in screen) on 1080p 100inch screen, at this Auditorium, and play your games at this resolution as well. The initial plan was to just try out HD-DVD playback , but with this opportunity, you , the Xbox 360 owners, have the chance to see how the games awould look and play like on this state of the art facility. The only task need to be done is to bring along your 360 for this, as well as any other titles needed to play/watch on your 360. I. The decision is yours, i hope to see you guys tomorrow at Mediaplex KLCC. PM me if there are any queries. Thanks for reading.

Gears of War is a must for testing. The textures and details just begs to be seen on big screen. Others that I can think of maybe Viva Pinata (for color testing).

SEGA ANNOUNCES VIRTUA FIGHTER 5 FOR XBOX 360
Premiere Fighting Game Franchise Makes First Appearance on Microsoft's Next Generation Videogame Console
STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN (December 21, 2006) - SEGA of America, Inc. and SEGA Europe Ltd. today announced that the highly anticipated arcade fighting game, Virtua Fighter(tm) 5, will make its way onto the Xbox 360(tm) video game and entertainment system. Virtua Fighter(tm) 5 is scheduled for release on Xbox 360(tm) in North America and in Europe during late summer 2007. The game will also be available for the PLAYSTATION(R)3 computer entertainment system on February 20th, 2007 in North America and will be available in Europe simultaneously with the system's launch in March 2007 Woohoo!!! Now my only reason for getting a PS3 is gone. I wonder if that's good or bad.

QUOTE(silencer @ Dec 20 2006, 06:29 AM) Just my 2 cent...i guess this problem can be solved by using the vga connection instead of the component input. As I read somewhere in the forum, eventhough the 1080p is supported by the component input, but it has been disable due to the licensing factor. ..N00b about this technology..and I might be wrong here..jst dont flame me.... I guess..maybe this is only applicable for xbox 360 HD-DVD player and not for the dedicated HD-DVD player with the HDMI connection...there are several models of HD DVD players in the market currently. All without 1080p buit in decoding. Only the HD XA2 will have the capability to decode 1080p. XA2 should be already in its way to retailers. The schedule date for the player to be on retailer's shelf is 27 Dec 2006. You are correct that Component cables do support 720p or 1080p but it is disabled with regards to Movies. That is why, component can do 1080p for games but not movies on XBox 360. This post has been edited by g5sim: Dec 22 2006, 01:50 AM
