Just my 2 cent...i guess this problem can be solved by using the vga connection instead of the component input. As I read somewhere in the forum, eventhough the 1080p is supported by the component input, but it has been disable due to the licensing factor. ..N00b about this technology..and I might be wrong here..jst dont flame me....
I guess..maybe this is only applicable for xbox 360 HD-DVD player and not for the dedicated HD-DVD player with the HDMI connection...
there are several models of HD DVD players in the market currently. All without 1080p buit in decoding. Only the HD XA2 will have the capability to decode 1080p. XA2 should be already in its way to retailers. The schedule date for the player to be on retailer's shelf is 27 Dec 2006.I guess..maybe this is only applicable for xbox 360 HD-DVD player and not for the dedicated HD-DVD player with the HDMI connection...
You are correct that Component cables do support 720p or 1080p but it is disabled with regards to Movies. That is why, component can do 1080p for games but not movies on XBox 360.
