In the hundreds bro. Autodetecting switchers can go up to RM300-400. Simple toggle switch ones would be cheaper.

Im waiting for my optical switcher myself.

But finding one of these buggers here locally is next to impossible. Hardcore audiophile/videophiles depends on their HT receivers for this functions.

Yikes...so my Wii component cable will sit in the shelf rotting...

Maybe i should go check my TV has VGA slot, then I'll hook up the 360 using the VGA slot....yes! thats the plan!

Yeah , people here are more familiar with AV a.k.a compo"shit" switcher. Hard to find other types, although i've started to see S-Video switchers around.

Wow, that's the second time i get the model popped up when i ask for HT suggestion. Must be good. First time was by bro Silkworm when i SMSed him on my optical switching problems.

The problem is, my room is very small. sad.gif Wanna put a 7.1 system would be extreme overkill. 7.1 with satellites arent exactly nice to hear. Im poor in spatial assets. cry.gif

String, you don't need to utilize all 7.1 system.

Get 1st for the vast array of inputs then invest in more and better speakers later when you have bigger house.

I'm using 5 speakers without woofer already shaking my house already. Don't want to buy woofer coz i worry i will kacau my neighbour. I stay in apt btw.

eBay or DVDBoxoffice?

Goodspeed, King Kong HD-DVD bundle is limited, you might wanna try your luck. King Kong is THE reference material movie you can use to showcase HD-DVD.

Yup, i know. DVDBoxoffice used to be THE cheapest way to get NTSC/UC titles last time, until the CAnadian Dollar strengthened itself and it's getting as strong as the US Dollar. Now im very picky lah when it comes with them. Plus Amazon gives more dollar for value, i can now permanently order any HD-DVD titles for a year from the day i buy 3 or more HD-DVD titles, at 10% off! They have huge selections and great promotions, plus i can bundle together books with the DVDs if i need to.

But let me say this to you, since you loooooooooooooooove to say this to others, Alkt bro :-

erm, my small packets of games are still wrapped in bubblewrap even after an official kastam inspection. they most probably just take & look-see, i doubt they consciously mishandle the contents of packages. kastam doing a good job (for me at least) thumbup.gif

HD DVD GET! OMG I hit the motherlode with Kelvin DVD!

Upon arriving at Kelvin's place, only saw one HD DVD,and its opened. Kelvin is this very shy, soft spoken , nice chap whom i have known since my pirated DVD-buying days in Lowyat Plaza, apparently he had moved his base of operation to Cineleisure, and freed himself from selling filthy pirated DVDs to selling originals mostly. Good for you Kelvin!

But i was dismayed to find out that his open copy of The Last Samurai was not for sale, and i was faced with the prospect of returning empty-handed. Kelvin never like seeing his customers feeling dejected, so he made a few calls.

Voila! His supplier have kept stock of 21 HD DVD titles, stashed in a warehouse somewhere, and i eagerly(read:desperately) asked if i could get 3 of the titles i want. By the way, these are the titles available:-

Mission Impossible Trilogy 3HDDVD RM399

Superman Returns HDDVD/DVD combo disc RM179

The rest are RM139 HDDVDs which are :-
Last Samurai, V for Vendetta, Dirty Dozen, Van Helsing, Syriana, The Fugitive. Serenity, U-571, Seabiscuit, Unforgiven, Sahara, Constantine, Apollo13,Swordfish, Polar Express, View from Space, Grand Prix, Training Day, and Casablanca.

I told him i wanted the Mission Impossible Trilogy, Superman Returns, and Swordfish. Unfortunately he told me he can only get me these titles by Sunday.I begged for him if there is anyway i could get it by today, send someone to his distrbutor warehouse or something. He cant promise anything so i walked defeated to Djinn's place Gamer Hideout .

After spending some time at Djinn's , as i walked out, Kelvin dashed to see me, and brought me the good news, i can get the titles by today, but have to wait till 10pm! Woohoo! Rezalida and Arj was with me, and we shared drinks at the anime store, to pass time. Rezalida had to excuse himself, and even Arj bro as well.

At 930PM, got the sms from Kelvin, my HDDVDs are here! Rushed like a giddy schoolgirl from Djinn's place to Kelvin's and made my payment, and now on my way home. thumbup.gif

This is a good combo already, a game shop and DVD shop complementing each other. Operated by two great guys, Djinn and Kelvin, you can easily now get your HDVD addon at Djinn's and score your favourite HDDVDs from Kelvin. Winning combination indeed!

Impressions will come later once i pop these bad boys into the drive! Happy happy joy joy, Santa came very early this year! rclxm9.gif
