Reckon there's only one type of UD Clapton. 26/32 Kanthal inner/Nichrome outer.
6wrap 2.5id 0.76ohm.
Its in TC mode. Ni mode 32.5J, 470F.
I'm baffled but its really not burning the cotton.

Actually I have it on my D2 since this morning and I have a dual claptop on my Velocity that's edging on .3 but never had that problem and it's like a week old.
Have you tried manually changing the setting back to VW mode? It should be kanthal both inner and the outer wire.

Try firing the Claptons in Joule mode. I had been experimenting about a week - firing Kanthal coil in my D2 on Joule mode. The vape is slightly wetter than Kanthal in Power mode.

In case you didn't know, the D2 will fire on any wire in Joule mode.

Its not a problem. Its an effing breakthrough!! Temp control on Kanthal Clapton.

What's the best tank for D2? Vape shop had accidentally switch my subtank with sum1 else tank and feels like the subtank is clone version..lazy to argue with the worker..

Since price is not much difference thinking of buying other brand tank.

And is there a way to make sure my cotton last longer? My cotton will get burn within a day..so lazy wanna change cotton twice daily just to vape..

The work around have been around since D2 first came out so I do know that. But that does not mean it could read and regulate the temp of your build as good as it was intended, with nickel. Never tried that so while it's a new discovery to me, it's not something I'd say 'practical'. But here's hoping TC in kanthal soon.

Ni80 fused right? Yes it works with temperature control. Ive tried it for fun before on 0.8x build and tc works but not as good as ni200 or titanium. I recon the inner core makes it possible as the electric jolt will always go on the least resistance first so the kanthal build receives the heat through conduction (im not physcist so that what my brain making things up ) whatever man i using terms i studied in highschool science

Haha.... My bad. Got happy too soon. Had forgotten to reset resistance. The moment I reset it, the Clapton glowed. But I still feel the vape is wetter when firing Kanthal in Joule mode.
I'm not really happy with Ni or Ti wires and remember I had been experimenting with 316L wires. AndyK, a FT regular has a video on the D2. Using 317L SS wires he vaped till the cotton was pretty dry. It shows that the D2 has some form of Temp protect with SS wire.

Yeah, 316L/317L SS is worth messing around with. Was wondering why I got such a huge difference in my Crown then my other attys and after a lil Google-fu, bam, SS is superior in every way. But this dude in the vid is just shooting around in the dark right now. D2 can't or rather does not have SS support, yet. Only X Cube II does for now but it's shitty. There's a hype going on Reddit that SS is gonna be the next thing in TC but until then I'd stick with VW mode for now.

Well you've said it yourself that D2 could fire up anything and even better demonstrated it for us so it's not really surprising to see him do it too. But ircc 145f in SS is equivalent to 400f in ni200 so that's a huge gap that our D2's chip still can't handle.

Is it wicking issue? I just stuff cotton on top site of the juice channel on my RBA. When I don't cover it, I get leaks.

I've never experienced any leaks from my TFV4 when I don't get greedy with the efficiency.
