As a matter of fact yes I do have a sound card already. Essence STX II which I plan to use. If I were to go mATX, what would your recommendation be then? Thanks.
*
Do you plan to get an overclockable rig? Or non-overclockable will do?

hey guys.. im looking for a rig... i'll spend 5k on rig and 1.5k on peripherals (mouse,monitor,keyboard).. what can i get.. budget rm6500
*
QUOTE(universalayam @ Jan 25 2016, 01:32 PM)
guys.. is it possible to get gtx 980ti with monitor, kb mouse ?  rm6500 ?
*
I already quoted you earlier with GTX980Ti build, please check.

QUOTE(terence_nwb @ Jan 23 2016, 03:08 PM)
6.5k is a large budget and you didn't give more information on what build you are looking for, especially monitor/peripherals requirements, so I will just focus on CPU and GPU more.

Intel Core i7 6700 - RM 1384
Gigabyte H170-HD3 - RM 488
Corsair 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 200
Zotac GTX980Ti 6GB GDDR5 AMP - RM 2899
Kingston HyperX Fury 120GB SSD - RM 229
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215
Seasonic M12II EVO 620W - RM 409
Corsair Carbide Spec-01 - RM 240
Logitech MK200 Wired Combo - RM 65
Acer S230H FHD - RM 399

Total: RM 6528 (Techview price inclusive of GST)

GTX980Ti might be a little bit overkill for 1080p gaming but it will last you for quite a while before you need to upgrade again, if you want a better monitor/keyboard/mouse/case then you can downgrade it to either GTX970/GTX980/R9 390/R9 390X etc to cover up the cost.
*
If you want to allocate 1.5k alone for monitor, keyboard and mouse then have to adjust the build (downgrade to i5, mATX mobo, no SSD etc).

Salam and good day. I need some suggestion from you guys.

I'm building a small rig, using some parts i already have. My purpose is to have some gaming (mostly dota2 & csgo).

Here are the parts that i already have:

1. Case : Bitfenix Prodigy ITX (Orange)
2. CPU Cooler : Phanteks TC14PE
3. Storage : 256gb SSD & 1TB 2.5' HDD
4. Monitor : Dell 19.5"

What i need:
1. Proc
2. Mobo (prefer black or orange color)
3. Ram (prefer orange color)
4. PSU
5. GPU

and my budget is limited to RM1700.00 only. Appreciated if u guys could suggest the hardware. thanks
*
Intel Core i3 6100 - RM 517
Gigabyte H170N-WiFi - RM 569
Corsair 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 200
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 189

Total: RM 1475 (Techview price inclusive of GST)

Skylake ITX board is expensive because we got no choice here, only H170 chipset is available at the moment, if you can accept last gen (Haswell) build then it will be cheaper and can fit a dedicated GPU.

If you are going for Skylake, then use the iGPU first, save more money and get a better GPU next time, the iGPU of Skylake is pretty strong (equivalent to R7 250) which is able to yield a playable frame rate at medium settings in Dota 2 and CS:GO.

Skylake Xeon requires Intel C232 chipset mobo to run and this will increase the total cost.

Intel Xeon E3-1230 v5 - RM 1209
Asus E3 Pro Gaming V5 - RM 726
Corsair 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 200
Zotac GTX980Ti 6GB GDDR5 AMP - RM 2899

Last gen and current gen hardware price is almost similar, you won't see much difference unless you go for low end chipset mobo (H81/B85).

Intel Core i7 4790 - RM 1383
Gigabyte H97-HD3 - RM 455
Corsair 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Value RAM - RM 169
Zotac GTX980Ti 6GB GDDR5 AMP - RM 2899
Kingston HyperX Fury 120GB SSD - RM 229
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215

That's why I don't recommend Malaysian to use PCPartPicker, the price is in USD and you cannot direct convert to RM due to different price (import duty/tax/GST etc.) and some items aren't available in local market here.

I added the market price to the items listed for your convenience.

Intel Core i7 4790K - RM 1549
Corsair Hydro H60 - RM 349
Gigabyte Z97X-SLI - RM 649
GSKill Ripjaws 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM - RM 319
Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB SSD - RM 199
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215
Zotac GTX980Ti 6GB GDDR5 Reference - RM 2899
Corsair Carbide Spec-01 - RM 240
Corsair RM 650 - RM 569
Asus DVD ROM - RM 59
Asus VX238H - RM 799
CM Storm Devastator - RM 149

Total: RM 7995

jus wondering.. if i want to go 2nd hand.. can i get it around rm6500 ? and what parts should i get 2nd hand ?
*
Nah, 6.5k is a huge budget, you don't need to spend your money on 2nd hand item, your budget can buy you a very good rig already, but don't be too ambitious with your budget though, just get whatever you can with your money, it's like you only have 100k but you keep dreaming to buy a Ferrari, that's impossible and unrealistic.

Hello guys, please suggest a rig for 3d making, autocad and all. A workstation like that.

Budget : RM3500 ( including monitor, kb and mouse )

Prefer i7 if the budget allows. Oh, and original windows.

Thanks in advance.

Some software use GPU technology (i.e. CUDA) as hardware acceleration during operation, but not all, you will only benefit from it if it utilizes it.

Intel Core i7 6700 - RM 1384
Gigabyte H110M-DS2 - RM 290
Corsair 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 400
Gigabyte GT730 2GB GDDR5 - RM 305
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215
FSP Hexa 400W - RM 145
Bitfenix Nova - RM 149
Acer S230H FHD - RM 399
Logitech MK200 Wired Combo - RM 65

Total: RM 3352 (Techview price inclusive of GST)

Left around RM 150 for Windows OS, price is different for each version so you can make your own choice.

Guys, if i want buy PC just for watching at least full HD movie,
not much of any other activity besides do internet stuff
(basically i just want to turn my Led TV into smart tv biggrin.gif)

so for that kind of requirement, if i built using Intel G4400, 8GB ddr4, Mobo with ddr4 support and HDMI, and NO Graphic card, would it be sufficient? and should i buy a new PSU coz i believe most of casing has built in PSU
*
Branded casing doesn't come with PSU nowadays, only cap ayam casing comes with cap ayam PSU, not recommended to use it.

If you have budget, go for branded PSU instead.

iGPU of Skylake is quite powerful and no need to get dedicated GPU just for movie.

If you want SSD to be included, downgrade the mobo to Gigabyte H110M-DS2 (RM 290) and GPU to Zotac GTX960 2GB GDDR5 ITX (RM 849), then you can buy a Kingston HyperX Fury 120GB SSD (RM 229).

Can someone help me build a rig for aroud RM2000-RM2300? It will be mostly be for work and light gaming. Thanks in advance!

- No monitor, keyboard or mouse required.
- Preferably just an SSD for OS. I have extra HDDs around.
*
If your gaming is really light, mostly casual and not graphic demanding, then no need to spend money on dedicated GPU, the iGPU of Skylake CPU is enough.

Intel Core i5 6400 - RM 828
Gigabyte H110M-DS2 - RM 290
Corsair 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 200

What if I bump the CPU to the last gen CPU and get a dedicated GPU as well? I'd like to know my options, thanks.

Also, the SSD can be 120gb if needed to cut some cost since it will be for OS only. I'm using my own HDD for it.
*
Last gen CPU price is almost similar with current gen, so not worth to downgrade, some minor adjustments to the build will do.

Intel Core i5 6400 - RM 828
Gigabyte H110M-DS2 - RM 289
Kingston 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 196
Zotac GTX750Ti 2GB GDDR5 ZT-70605-10M - RM 509
Kingston HyperX Fury 120GB SSD - RM 209
FSP Hexa+ 400W - RM 145
Bitfenix Nova - RM 149

Total: RM 2325 (Techview price inclusive of GST)

Swap the PSU to 550W (RM 188) one if you are going to upgrade or add more hardware to the rig in the future so you don't have to change PSU next time.

Edit: GTX560 and 750Ti is very close in performance, if you can reuse then it would be great and save a lot of money.

I wonder if two Radeon R9 270 crossfire are better than a single GTX 960 for multiple monitors? Looking if possible to have crossfire with low cost. Can recommend what good mobo? Not gonna oc. Socket 1550.
*
You need a CF ready PSU and mobo before you can CF and after CF you still stuck at 2GB only, which means it doesn't bring any enhancement apart from increased processing power, it doesn't benefit multi monitors setup either.

Go for GTX960 is a better choice, less hassle on PSU and mobo selection and you don't have to rely on CF ready driver too to play latest games.
