QUOTE(Xypheria @ Nov 21 2015, 05:44 PM)
Hi guys! It's me again asking for another insights before finalize my shopping-trip

This was the RM3,500 gaming build that I asked the other day..

p/s : I only play MMORPG  like Dragon Nest and TERA online (hoping to play in high settings with good FPS. I have motion sickness when playing AAA games)

Zotac GTX960 2GB GDDR5 Dual fan - RM 849
Intel Core i5 6500 - RM 875
MSI B150M Bazooka D4 - RM 409
Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR4 2400MHz RAM - RM 289
Liteon S900 256GB SSD - RM 409
Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD - RM 349
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 189
Thermaltake Versa H25 - RM 139

(Price from techview)

And I would like to ask for suggestions about monitor, router and mouse.
(I hope i can find any suggestion here to prevent new thread)

For monitor, I am currently using BenQ GL2460HM.
So far I am using it as external to my laptop.
Will give out this monitor to someone as soon i get the new rig so I want to chip in for a new monitor.
Any suggestion for good monitor that can give me 60fps gaming experience? (with better color too but don't need IPS?) - Budget preferably below 700 but any monitor below RM1,000 can be considered.
Is there any monitor that the same as good ol' Dell U2312HM?

As for router, I  have been curious about this..How is it fare in improving the speed? Currently using 30mbps subscription Unifi and stock router.
We use HyppTV though..compatible with HyppTV is good (No astro in our condo) - Budget RM400 and below

Mouse..Any recommendation for Palm grip user? Budget RM250 and below.
Was aiming Logitech G502 the other month but..so far no review in Malaysia yet?

Thank you guys  blush.gif

There is a pretty cheap IPS monitor from AOC, I2360SD, RM 499 from Techview.

You can also look for Dell U2414H, my personal recommendation, nice color and freaking thin bezel, it is around 1k, under same UltraSharp series with U2312HM.

"improving the speed" <--- can you get full 30mbps on WiFi? If can then I don't think you need to change so soon unless you are sick of the crappy WiFi signal of the stock router.

As for palm grip mouse, you can look for Logitech G502 or Razor Deathadder, there is a video review by Linus on Youtube.

Thanks for the reply terence!

Are there any other options aside for  the U2414H monitor? Like how about BenQ Gaming series monitor?

As for the router, our router position is a bit isolated (like in the corner) maybe the signal is a bit off? Mine sometimes got cut off whenever i am playing..
which is really annoying. Not sure if change the router can also improve a bit speed? or it will remain the same?

I just read about that mouse..It seems like G502 is a claw grip mouse? Maybe Razer DeathAdder suits me more but I  got tired with Razer branding...
Also bad experience with Logitech too  rclxub.gif
But DeathAdder seems like is a top-notch mouse regardless being a Razer..
*
Some say G502 is palm grip, some say claw grip, well you have to try the demo yourself only know which to pick laugh.gif

Gaming monitor? Normally they come with TN panel which I don't like, maybe I am get used to IPS so couldn't go back to TN.

144Hz - XL2411Z (RM 1199)
60Hz - RL2460HT (RM 999, not worth the money since it is still 60Hz and TN panel)

If WiFi signal is weak, speed will become slower and latency will increase, try to use LAN cable if you can, if cannot then you can get a better router with strong antenna like Asus RT-N18U/RT-N14UHP/RT-12HP.

last time did selling liteon, it is from plextor, Liteon made Plextor.
for those who still using liteon, beware ! and please make a backup for ur data.
I am sure the SSD will kong within 1 year.
*
Any reliable source or claim that can support your statement? hmm.gif

QUOTE(Xypheria @ Nov 21 2015, 10:50 PM)
True that. I need to test it by myself. At least I have the final two options to choose biggrin.gif

I like IPS too as TN panel is a bit..annoying? biggrin.gif

How about the other IPS monitor?
I am not sure about IPS monitor that much since first will be using it (soon)

Dell S2316H RM749
Dell S2216H RM619

LG 23"IPS (23MP75H) RM680
Asus RT-N14UHP is compatible with Unifi? As in can use hypptv as usual?
*
Take note on the screen type, cheap IPS normally comes with glossy screen type, which mean you will see your reflection on the screen if you are under bright light source.

RT-N14UHP is compatible with UniFi and HyppTV.

I see.. Guess I will settle with the U2414H then!  biggrin.gif

Thanks for the clarification. Will get that too.

Another one, seeing that the post above saying Liteon is like that..
What are the alternatives to get for 256gb SSD yeah?
*
A lot, like Kingston HyperX Fury, Transcend 370, Kingston HyperX Savage, they are around RM 400+/- range.

Samsung 850 EVO and Intel 535 > RM 500.

Savage is a bit faster than Fury in terms of read/write performance.

Since it is a bit faster, is it advisable to go for Fury? Since it's not making an impact too..yes?
Fury +RM40 =  Savage... blush.gif
*
Up to you, if the RM 40 is not worth the extra speed then choose Fury tongue.gif

Also, I plan to get a router for my unifi and if possible hypptv. Do I need to buy a new modern too? My current router (tm default black box) range is so lousy,1 floor directly above also can't use. Also, the ping I get is shity, can't get a stable connection without restarting the router. Every game before CSGO I am forced to play on deathmatch just to test my ping. Whenever I skype with my friend together with CSGO = instant unplayable, Skype can't even get a stable connection and doesn't appear me as online...so need to restart it. Budget below 200 iF possible
*
Below RM 200, Asus RT-N12D1/N12HP (slightly above RM 200)

What about those from TP-Link? And actually what does it mean to be Unifi/HyppTV Compatible?
Thanks again !
*
UniFi/HyppTV compatible means no complicated steps or configurations needed during setup, it just works out of the box.

TL-WDR3600
TL-WR1043ND
TL-WR841HP

If the above TP-LINK router cannot work with UniFi, you need to disable Hardware NAT in settings, some may need to flash firmware to Malaysia version to run.

[Budget] you suggest price needed for best budget rig (of course cheaper better lol)

[Purpose] gaming/multimedia

[Hardwares that will be re-use] monitor

[Games & softwares that use frequently] dota 2 max setting and dramas tongue.gif

[Personal preferences] if possible suggest me a wireless adapter too because lan cable is ugly if gonna pull from router to my room, mouse keyboard for amateur(wireless). It's okay to use older generation rig if the performance is not significant..

[Location] KL/selangor

Need your suggestion sifusss!  icon_question.gif

Hey stalkerz, thanks for the previous upgrade recommendation. Parts I got now: MSI GTX970 gaming. May i know whats the cheapest possible CPU+MOBO+RAM combination so that it wont throttle my GPU?
*
Cheapest would be i5 4460 + H81 (lowest end of LGA1150 socket chipset) + 8GB RAM, total price will be around 1.2k.

I see, and about the case. What do you think about Aerocool? Aerocool 500 windowed white edition looks slick, but is it better/worse than the Thermaltake Versa H25(Functionality, Airflow, etc)?
-Edit
Found some monitors, realised yours is cheaper, remembered wrong  yawn.gif

Should be around the same.

Hi,

What is the cheapest mitx board for skylake that use DDR 4?

Thanks
*
Either ASRock H170M-ITX/ac or Giagbyte H170N-WiFi, both are around RM 580.

We are yet to see B150 DDR4 based mITX here.

Hi Terence, are you sure i3-4160 + gtx750 can get 60 fps even during intense teamfight? I want to suggest this rig to my friend too.

I'm asking cause my i3-4150 + r7 260x sometimes reach 45++ fps(No teamfight 90-110 fps). Bit stutter when WW cast Winters Curst + SF Requiem last night.  Ofcourse, I do max settings all tick, except only vsync not been tick.

GTX750 vs R7 260X I think R7 260X is much better right?  icon_question.gif
*
If possible please check the GPU and CPU usage during FPS drops then you will know which one is creating issue.

I tested i3 with GTX750 last month, was able to sustain 60 FPS all the time, but this is subject to change because we might face different scene.

Do you tick all of the settings in reborn? You going for best looking right? Except the vsync?

How to check? Cause now, with reborn hard to check. Before reborn I used 1 program and can interface with dota, right now I forgot the name of the program. Lol.

Any program that you can recommend to check the cpu usage in game?
*
Yes totally maxed out in 1080p. You can check using RivaTuner OSD, packed with MSI Afterburner.

Haaa. Now I remember. I am using this software previously. But, somehow in reborn, it doesn't appear in my dota2 reborn screen.

But, for previous dota it does show the cpu usage everything. Do I need to tweak something?  icon_question.gif
*
Try to set the detection mode to high in RivaTuner.

Hi, all sifu, can quote me with below requirements?

24 hours computing PC (cpu usage maintain 80% above), monitor not required, graphic card is not needed (but can added in future to support light gaming such as dota), need wifi adapter.

for processor taking xeon is good or skylake i5?
*
24 hours computing but what software is involved?

QUOTE(silentxoblivion @ Nov 23 2015, 04:01 PM)
Need monitor recommendation.

24" 1080p IPS panel preferably with hdmi port. Speaker doesn't matter.

In consideration:
Viewsonic VX2370SMH
Acer 24ghyl
AOC I2476VWM
Dell u2414h
*
I will pick U2414H, that thin bezel and color quality really attract my eye ball.

One will be BlueStack, another will be WorldCommunityGrid.
*
Checked the system requirements, both aren't CPU demanding, but Bluestacks might hold you back a little bit even on high end CPU because it has to convert the arm/arm64 app to x86 or run it in a virtual machine.

I will go for Xeon, more threads compared to i5.

I'm really considering the U2414H but the others are almost half the price. Is it really worth it? Can't find any reviews online comparing any of these monitors.
*
I'll say it worth, I bought mine at just RM 800 last year (Nov 14), now the price is reaching RM 1000 mark which makes it feels like a bit "overpriced" sweat.gif

Thanks to GST + weak RM doh.gif
