YES - the taxation initiatives in yesterday's budget is definitely beneficial to investors. Across the board, taxes have been lowered. Companies will have more money to invest, individuals will have more disposable income for investment purposes. This will make the SGX more vibrant, which in turn , benefit foreign investors further.

Secondly, some taxes which were 'brought-up for discussion' by some opposition members earlier were not implemented - okay.

Top holdings :-

1) Parkway Life REIT.
2) First REIT.
3) Singpost.
4) Starhub.
5) Fraser Centrepoint Trust.

Please check the yield before replicating the holdings into our portfolio, because my Buy Prices are very low, though I have averaged-UP over the years.

KepCorp - can BUY,...   ohmy.gif  I really shouldn't be 'giving stock tips' like this. It's against the rules of MAS and the SGX and we have to follow these rules...

Well,... my banking stocks, eg OCBC do not form my top holdings because the stock does not constitute a very large percentage of my stocks portfolio. That's why I did not list it down. I wanted OCBC to 'punt' only,... I'm afraid at the end of the day, a yield of 4.65% does not appeal that much to me.

I'm waiting a bit longer till OCBC is 'high' enough, or another instrument has a good entry price, then I'll sell it off,.... and 'rebalance' the funds over to the more worthy instrument, in turn making more income after that.

My style of capital-recycling into higher-yielding assets. biggrin.gif Investing into REITs has made me behave like a REIT too. biggrin.gif

In theory, I don't need to keep ploughing-in fresh funds to generate higher returns. Whatever I have available SHOULD BE ABLE TO ACHIEVE THAT OBJECTIVE for me. But I'm still testing-out this theory. Don't have a very good handle on it yet,... can't prove it mathematically yet,...

Elea,

you have so many penny stocks. Let me read through these stocks first. smile.gif

no wonder your list of stocks almost comprising of 30 counters.

and my focus is same as you - growth (preferably) plus yield.

and also i m still new in this. not sure is right or not.

I m reading the page you shared out, kindly interesting too.

By constructing a 30-stock portfolio of the shares with the lowest scores and back-testing the results from 1988 to 2004, Greenblatt showed that his Magic Formula approach generated annualised returns of 30.8% compared to the S&P 500’s 12.4% annual gain. The S&P 500 is a broad market index in the U.S. which is akin to the Straits Times Index (SGX: ^STI) here in Singapore.” thumbup.gif

ROTARY is one of the region’s leading oil and gas infrastructure services companies with extensive international experience offering fully integrated engineering design, procurement, and construction (EPC) services to the oil and gas, petroleum, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries.

Headquartered in Singapore, Rotary has established a strong presence in the Asia-Pacific region and continues to make its mark as a global player. Established in 1972, Rotary has forged a reputation built on its hallmark traits of providing quality services, within budget, safely and on-time delivery. Today, Rotary boasts a total strength of over 7,000 employees which include a highly and multi-skilled workforce that forms the mainstay of its core EPC services.

Singapore remains a key market for Rotary while it actively seeks business opportunities overseas. Rotary has subsidiaries and associate companies in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Oman, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Can still go for Rotary Engineering counter at these times? Oil and gas is not doing well since last year.

Keppel Corp is having problems with Sete Brazil and Petrobras,... but it is certainly doing very well with Mexico. The second and third rigs have been delivered to Grupo R, a Mexican firm.

Keppel FELS delivers another two rigs to Mexico.

Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has delivered two jackup rigs to Mexican company, Grupo R.

Built to Keppel's proprietary KFELS B Class design, the rigs, CANTARELL I and CANTARELL II, will be chartered to PEMEX, Mexico's national oil company, for operations in the Cantarell oil field in offshore Mexico. They are the first two of five jackup rigs that Keppel FELS is building for Grupo R.

Mr Wong Kok Seng, Managing Director of Keppel O&M (Offshore) and Keppel FELS, said, "We are pleased to deliver another two rigs in 2016 to our quality client Grupo R. Despite the current low oil price environment, the market continues to prefer safe and efficient rigs with a proven track record like our KFELS B Class. We have built strong relationships with our customers and continue to engage them in developing win-win solutions."

With the two rigs delivered, there will be 10 KFELS B Class rigs working in Mexico, two of which are directly owned by PEMEX. It is the dominant rig design in the region, with those already in operation turning out robust, efficient and economical, performances for Mexico.

The KFELS B Class jackup is designed to operate in water depths of up to 400 feet and drill to depths of 30,000 feet. Developed by Keppel's Offshore Technology Development (OTD), the KFELS B Class jackup is equipped with an advanced and fully-automated high capacity rack and pinion jacking system, and Self-Positioning Fixation System. It has accommodation with full amenities for 150 persons.

Keppel has delivered projects to Mexico since 2004 when it was awarded a contract to build two accommodation modules. Besides building new jackup rigs for Mexico, Keppel has also repaired and serviced a total of 18 rigs that have been deployed in Mexico.

With the deliveries, Keppel FELS has delivered three rigs in 2016 to-date.

Further infos :-

1) Mexico's Grupo R = Brazil's Sete.

2) Mexico's Pemex = Brazil's Petrobras.

Yap Ming Hui said to be careful when investing in Singapore. smile.gif http://www.thestar.com.my/business/busines...u-need-to-know/

Yap Ming Hui also used examples of the ASB and the EPF as examples.

Any opinions ?

Edited by adding : Ming Hui is not aware that the SGX follows fundamentals closely, and is not easily manipulated by some big sharks in a country, unlike the Bursa. He missed a very big point in the sense that an investor in Sgp just needs to understand mkt principles, then that investor will be quite successful, investing in Sgp.

ALL markets without exceptions are subject to manipulation.

In SGX, the most recent case involved these 3 companies :Blumont Group, LionGold Corp. and Asiasons Capital Ltd

Yes, I agree,... there will be slips,.. but we need to look at the percentage of slips against the overall mkt activities, and what actions that the Mkt Surveillance Team puts in-place to monitor such companies which are known to do these things, and how these companies are 'warned' and 'prevented' against doing such thing again in future. IR should be very low in the SGX.

Come to think of it,.....Perhaps our gov't entities themselves are the ones stoking the speculations,... biggrin.gif

For enthusiasts of Keppel Corp, here are the ann't dates for results :-

28-March-2016
Notice of Dates for Keppel Group's Financial Results

The Keppel Group of Companies is pleased to announce its financial results on the following dates:-

First Quarter 2016

•Keppel DC REIT on 13 April 2016
•Keppel Infrastructure Trust on 13 April 2016
•Keppel REIT on 14 April 2016
•Keppel Telecommunications & Transportation Ltd on 14 April 2016
•Keppel Corporation Limited on 18 April 2016

This notice will be updated should there be any amendments.

Good luck,....

One thing I noticed about KepCorp and the group is,.......if the first quarter results of any subsid is good and the outlook is promising,... it will churn out good results for the rest of the year, unless,...of course, war breaks out. BUt, that's just my observation,...hence, I always look at the first Q results very closely,....

Sabana REIT is one REIT that I ran away from two years ago. When I pulled-out from Sabana REIT, I recalled the price were,.. $1.110 and $1.040. Since then, I kept seeing the unit price dropping and dropping till now,.. I think $0.70+,...At the point that I was selling away Sabana REIT, I lost an overall amount of $1300.00, captured from my records.

The divdeind that I collected amounted to at least $3000, based on records. I held the REIT between 2012 and 2014.

I am still following the news of this REIT even after I divested my holdings totally. Today, I see that this REIT has sold-off another asset just to repay her debts. Less assets means less property income, means less divvy for unitholders.

Did I make the right choice to cutloss here ???????

COMPLETION OF DIVESTMENT OF 3 KALLANG WAY 2A FONG TAT BUILDING, SINGAPORE 347493

The Board of Directors of Sabana Real Estate Investment Management Pte. Ltd., as manager of Sabana Shari’ah Compliant Industrial Real Estate Investment Trust (“Sabana REIT”, and the manager of Sabana REIT, the “Manager”), wishes to announce that further to its announcement dated 18 November 2015 (the “18 November 2015 Announcement”), the divestment of the Property located at 3 Kallang Way 2A, Fong Tat Building, Singapore 347493 has been completed today. Unless otherwise defined herein, all capitalised terms used and not defined herein shall have the same meanings given to them in the 18 November 2015 Announcement.

The Property has been divested for S$16.6 million and the net proceeds (including the divestment gains), after taking into account all relevant costs and expenses including a divestment fee of 0.5% on the sale consideration (approximately S$83,000) which is payable to the Manager pursuant to Sabana REIT’s Trust Deed dated 29 October 2010 (as amended), will be fully used for repaying outstanding short-term borrowings in April 2016.

The application of the net proceeds (including the divestment gains) towards repaying outstanding borrowings would aid in reducing the overall debt liabilities of Sabana REIT, lowering its gearing to approximately 39.0% in April 2016. This divestment is in line with the Manager’s strategy to divest non-core assets with limited redevelopment potential and to recycle Sabana REIT’s capital to optimise portfolio returns for Unitholders.

Following this divestment, Sabana REIT owns 21 properties, all of which are located in Singapore.

By Order of the Board
