Hey guys, just wondering if 408 also has the engine oil level indicator? Because as I see in the 308, it has the "oil ok" wording every time the car starts up where as our 408 does not. Since there's some owners here reporting their car having to consume engine oil, What are the indicators of knowing actually the car is consuming engine oil other than the dip stick which is also quite different than Japanese cars==. My car is 2 years old, no major problems so far and hope it will not have for the coming years lol…

408 does have detector too.
Press the engine check button on ur speedometer there, system will run a check. "Oil OK" will be shown
*
I tried mine, it doesn't have that wording. Also I realized that the audio display, scrolling through the "mode" button, I should arrive at a page showing the car's data such as the trip meter as per the instrument cluster, however, there's none except for the usual radio display, clock and the Bluetooth display, do you know what's the problem?

Yours is Turbo right, Turbo version's trip details only show on the meter cluster there.
NA display on the audio display

Ooh is it? Ok, ya, mine is the turbo model. So for the "oil ok" wording should be in the instrument cluster display right? I'll ask the service center regarding this later. Thanks

Ok, thanks a lot. But then our car had the engine oil detector just that it doesn't show every time like the 308?

Seems like the expansion valve is about to pack up, also known as condenser. SC will be able to diagnose the fault. Can claim on warranty.
*
Thank you for the respond...at least know that it can be detected...haha...will try to see what SC says

I've went to the SC last week, they say they've checked and there's nothing wrong. Any advise on how to go around this problem with the SC since its not happening all the time?

have u check the gas if need to fill or not?maybe u can try  that first. if after a month still the same, then must be leaking.
do you hear any noise when u turn on aircond? like leaking wind sound liddat..?
alternatively u can go to aircond shop ask them to check.
u may need to pay abit cos sometimes when checking they need to dismantle the bumper. manpower cost that is.
but when they find the culprit, just say youll do it at the end of the month when salary come in.
or juat say car is under warranty maybe can still claim.
*
The sc checked the gas, they say no leak and gas still enough. Actually the car got this problem since new just that it happens once like half a year..very rare. so i decided not to bother with it. Just that recently, it happens quite a number of times which prompted me to call the SC. It happens mostly on hot days. I did went to outside workshop, they say need to dismantle the dashboard bla bla bla... when i asked about cost, they say need to do a check first... money is one thing, i just scared that when they dismantle but they could not put back properly then other problems starts to crop out, since the car is still under warranty i don't want these things to happen and then when things happen i go back to SC they push here and there. Anyway, i've made another appointment with the SC and see what they can find. Too bad i live in JB, if not i saw there's so many peugeot workshops in KL....haha

Just few weeks back my car also had similar problem...took like 15 minutes of driving or longer only the air-cond starts to cool. Took the car to SC, first diagnostic they say no problem, then the 2nd diagnostic finally they say compressor broken. At the end compressor changed under warranty, the service took around half day.

Hey guys, just wanted to ask regarding the fuel consumption for the 1.6 turbo. I'm getting 100~120km for a quarter of full tank. It's 90% town driving. Not driving aggressively. Is this normal? To me it seems to be a little high? Any idea? The car has done 48k mileage for a little bit over 2 years.

What is the average FC indicated at your instrument panel, this may be easier to compare. Mine is 8.8/100km.
*
It's 10.7 Litre/100km Approx. quite a big gap compared to yours. What's your driving conditions for that FC?

Funny thing is mine seems to be sticking to 8.8/100, city drive or out station runs. On out station runs I usually do between 130 -150kmh. speeds. I'm not an overly aggressive drive, but do like a brisk overtake.  Beginning to suspect my indication may be erroneous.

FC used to be 9.7/100km, drop to 8.6/100km after enhancement package last May, now has settled at 8.8/100km.
*
ahh ok.. mine also done the enhancement package but didn't notice any difference. i thought the concept of downsizing should decrease fuel consumption, but in my case the engine seems to be a little bit thirsty hmm.gif . Hope after 50k service could see some improvements on it...lol

pug 10.73L/100km & myvi at 7.88 = house to office using NKVE. approx 52km/working day - normal jams on return journey & outstation travel once in 1-2 mths.
vios at 8.89 = about 10-12km/college day; sometimes outstation travel.
alza at 9.40 & wira at 8.56 = nearby journeys - abt 3-10km/day; hardly any outstation travel.
hope this helps.  smile.gif

okok...in that case my car seems normal...lol....thanks.

Hi all, I'm just curious, whether changing the car's spark plugs affects the car's fuel consumption?
