I owned this 408T since 2012, paid 120K for it with 3+2 Warranty. The current price with upgraded 5 years Warranty is a STEAL! However, there are things you need to consider before committing. Firstly, this ain't Jap and you can't expect the same level of reliability or cost of spares. While I certainly do not face as much problem as the dude in FB, my 408T was hospitalized 3 times over 4 years (1) ElectroValve sensor - 4 days, (2) Temperature sensor - 2 days and (3) Turbo Kit issues - 2 months. You do need a SPARE CAR at home unless you could negotiate a courtesy car from your SC. Fuel consumption for pure city commutes is about the same as your Persona.

The choices are between a reliable & boring car vs higher maintenance & exciting/spirited car.  Based on my ownership experience, with the deal you're getting (heavily discounted + 5 years) I would get TWO!  drool.gif

That's what I told others. Although it has relatively more downtime compared to Japs or Potongs, but the safety features and fun factors are much better, so one has to decide what one wants.

It was a much difficult decision to make when the price was 120k, now that the price is 86k.....well.

Another way to look at this: if you get to choose your birthday present - either city or 408T, which one would you take?

Guys, a new 408T is Rm86k now? Comes with 5 years warranty, 5 years free service?

My 408T is about > 2.5 years now, enjoy the driving very much. Is it worthwhile to trade it in for a new 408T? How much can I trade in for?

Any good brake pads and installers to recommend in kl/pj for 408T?

My stock brake pads give out black dust. Do good brake pads give out dust?

Thanks.

So to get your air-con fixed under warranty you have to leave your car in the SC for weeks? By the time it is repaired how long will it be, a month without your car? There is a saying to drive a Conti car you need to have a spare car. I thought it is an exaggeration but now....!
*
This is due to poor workshop/after sales mentality. Processes have so much more room to improve.

I recently replaced my windscreen and tinting at 3rd party. Glad to say that some activities were done without my car or myself at the workshop. I just whatsapp my car reg + insurance. a week before. Then they started to order the windscreen and got it tinted 1 day before i go to workshop. On the day at workshop, it took about 1hour+. I asked an authorised SC and they said make appointment first......so forget it. Windscreen is an easier job than a/c repair, yes, but even that, a/c or whatever repairs can use a bit of six sigma process improvement at SCs.

nonetheless, the car is great.

My a.c. produces knocking sound when turned on. I hv 2 more days to 3 years sad.gif. Any third party shops outside specializing in Peugeot a.c. in slang valley? I thought of getting a quick assessment first, if not.too expensive, I might just pay on my own. No time for sc.

Thanks.

Knocking sound while aircon on maybe due to ur compressor.
Total cost at SC could be above Rm3k.
Get it claim before end of 3rd year, if not you will have hard time with EWP
*
Thanks for the advise. I know someone had to leave his car for 1 month at SC due to ac claim, probably due to extended warranty. I am just going to pay for this myself, can't afford the downtime. I will get this checked outside, see how it goes.

I sent my car for enhancement package at CSL and they didnt change this for me.

I'm pretty sure it is the compressor problem.. And try to send it to SC soonest within the 3 yrs warranty.. The process should be quick as I've experienced it before.. If I remember correctly, it just take not more than 3 days..

Nevertheless, the repair duration is so much dependent on number of cars the SC hv in hands..

I just changed a new denso compressor and refill gas. 1.5 hour, friendly mechanic, no fuss. Just pay.

SC claimed the total cost Rm5k++ for the cooling coil

Btw, I had claimed compressor for 2 times last year
*
If u can tolerate the down time, then it's worth the wait.

Btw I was quoted decarbon about rm680++, might come up to 700++ plus Labour. It's this good price?

Why decarbo? What mileage are now? What about warranty void due to decarbo?
*
I just know it's to clean carbon build up in engine, I thought it's been discussed here before. According to das werkstat, Glenmarie sc even asked customers to do outside.

QUOTE(jiunkei_46 @ Aug 19 2016, 12:49 PM)
is this quotation from CLEARCarbon?
http://www.clearcarbon.com.my/

No. But I don't know the difference, really. Price looks cheap at clear carbon.

My question was directed towards if you have any performance issues or indication of carbon build up already. If you are thinking of doing it as preventive measure, that's excellent idea.

Will be good idea to email Clic and get in writing that this process done outside will not affect warranty.

What's your mileage?
*
56k, I don't feel performance lag, so I'm thinking wait for maybe 80k?

The buttons are all sticky especially under the hot sun in 408.
Even the dashboard (nearer to windscreen part) is sticky too

Yes the part near to windscreen is sticky, seems like it's a different material. Other parts of my 408t are ok although I always park under hot sun.
