they already have a layered defence placed there.. making any SEED operation super hard

now they only need eyes in the sky and that would complete their air defense system.. sadly the US have a better system in this section (E3) compared to the russian (A50)

But still the range of s-400 is pain in the ass to counter.
Signit and an aew and su35pakfa would complete it.

According to Marhalim's previous article the 6 helicopters will be jointly operated by RMAF & PUTD.

QUOTE
The helicopters to be operated jointly by the RMAF and the Army are expected to be deployed in ESSCOM once delivered.

According to Wiki the M109 weight is around 27.5 tons so I guess it is ok.

Anyway iinm the Indonesian Army decision to buy the Caesar 155mm SPH was that it can fit inside a C-130 Hercules.

Syrian Army Captures Final Village Along the Palmyra-Homs Highway

user posted image

Earlier this morning in the western countryside of Palmyra, the Syrian Arab Army’s 67th Brigade of the 18th Tank Brigade – in coordination with Hezbollah, Liwaa Imam ‘Ali (Iraqi paramilitary), and the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Homs City and Wadi Al-Nasara – have imposed full control over the strategic Palmyra-Homs Highway after intense clashes with the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS).

According to a battlefield journalist embedded with the Syrian Arab Army’s 67th Brigade, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies imposed full control over the Palmyra-Homs Highway after seizing the villages of Al-Bayarat and Marhatten in the western countryside of the ancient city of Palmyra over this past weekend.

With Al-Bayarat, Marhatten, and the Palmyra-Homs Highway under their control, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies are now positioned 4km away from the western walls of Palmyra; this is the closest the pro-government forces have been to the gates of this ancient city since their failed offensive in July.

Unfortunately for the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies, the route to the western gates of Palmyra will not be easy, as the Qassoun Mountains (Jabal Qassoun) are deeply entrenched with ISIS combatants that are overlooking the entire western countryside of the city.

Last time the SAA attempted to seize the Qassoun Mountains, they were forced to withdraw from this area after suffering two dozen casualties.

The Jacel Kiram is a convenient political assassination, not that Nurul Izzah isn't a complete ass for even allowing this kind of thing to happen. Other than that, Defence is a songlap sink except for anti-riot/insurgency and anti-ISIS because they're afraid for their own skins... pendatang kena penggal not their problem

Moving on to something nicer... rather than try to replicate old Cold War style US formations with the artillery and all, why don't we focus on genuine needs like helis, patrol boats and limit our armour to IFVs... not the Twardy isn't nice to have but only the top end tanks have a chance of surviving the ATGMs now available, just focus on ATGMs and don't try to go head to head with our neighbours.

Analogy is the Russians who develop SAMs and supersonic antiship missiles in response to NATO/US focus on air and carrier power.

6 choppas... usually 2-2-2 right? Three flights... 1 operational 1 maintenance 1 reserve/training...

Turkey decries sighting of Russian ‘soldier with manpad’ on ship passing Istanbul

user posted image

QUOTE
For a Russian soldier to display a rocket launcher or something similar while passing on a Russian warship is a provocation,” Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told reporters Sunday.

“If we perceive a threatening situation, we will give the necessary response,” he added, as cited by Hurriyet.

It is also unclear whether the ship really did cross the Bosporus in recent days, as the Bosphorus Naval News reported it had passed by Istanbul “on her way to Syria” in late October. In late November it was captured by a Reuters photographer on its way back to the Black Sea.

Is it really necessary for Russia to go to China for missile tech? I still have the impression Russia is king in all things related to ICBM.

Whatever is said about it, I'm somehow still not convinced an ICBM warhead from orbit has the necessary accuracy to hit a moving target.

They are standard antiship missile loadouts for their Backfire bombers. Mach 4+ both. Just not advertised.

As for P800, a quick wiki turned up something interesting...

Syria

In 2010 Sergei Prikhodko, senior adviser to the Russian President, has said that Russia intends to deliver P-800 to Syria based on the contracts signed in 2007.[4][5] Syria received 2 Bastion missile systems with 36 missiles each (72 in total).[6] The missiles' test was broadcast by Syrian state TV.[7]

In May 2013, Russia continued the contract delivery to the Syrian government of Bashar al-Assad supplying missiles with an advanced radar to make them more effective to counter any future foreign military invasion.[8][9] The warehouse containing the Bastion Missile was destroyed in an Israeli air strike on Latakia on 5 July 2013, but US intelligence analysts believe that some missiles had been removed before the attack.
Remember the recent airstrike? "Abandoned warehouse" my ass!
