Went to TM center here.

They are offering Unifi 30 at Unifi 10 price. But 2 potential downgrades:
* no more free fixed line calls. True?
* limited upload bandwidth. For normal use, isn't 5 Mbps sufficient?  When will one needs high upload speed?

Thanks.
*
I got this offer. Free fixed line calls from the sales team.
I don't use the Unifi phone though. So no benefit for me.

True for both cases.

For free fixed line, some managed to get it from their sales team, that needs them to contact you via phone and you negotiate with them. You cannot get this offer if you walk-in to TM Point.

Will ask for free fixed line when the opportunity arises.

PAP stands for "Password Authentication Protocol".

"PAP authentication failed" means your login ID or password is incorrect.

It has nothing to do with IPv6.
*
i'm dialing true pppoe for ipv6 connection.
yes i understand the "PAP authentication failed" mean password incorrect but it's only for ipv6 connection which i double check it's same as ipv4 connection setting.
i confirm the password is correct as... "oh well, i'm connected to internet and i'm in /k now"
did u configure your modem to use ipv6 too? hmm.gif

I have absolutely no problems with OpenDNS since day one I used it.

Before that, Google DNS gave me some hiccups, but it is way better than TM's default DNS servers.

OpenDNS is a company and service which extends the Domain Name System (DNS) by adding features such as phishing protection and optional content filtering to traditional recursive DNS services.

I am a streamyx 4 Mbps user. I'm planning to take the 30 Mbps UniFi offer. The contractor in charge to install the equipment at my house doesn't recommend me of getting the new package (30 @ 50 mbps). He already come to my house and just before he began the process, he advice to take 5 @ 10 @ 20 Mbps the 'original' UniFi package as there already many complaint taken from user. After a while reading this thread, I think it is still not a good time to upgrade from streamyx to UniFi. The speed test seems promising. But many of the user experienced slow download speed (apps store & Google store) and streaming video from YouTube. We are talking about true speed here and I don't encounter any of this problem with streamyx.

Hi All
I have a question. TM called me ( the lady said she is calling from TM HQ). Asked i want to upgrade to unifi from my streamyx, i accepted.
I received email with this statement: -
*************************************************************
Customer contact details will be verified by customer or customer's authorized representative with our UniFi installers during installation. Please ensure customer or customer's authorized representative provide a copy of customer's and (or) customer's authorized representative's NRIC during installation for our verification and record purposes.

Does it mean i need to provide them a photo copy of my IC when the installer comes and install?

Thanks!

Actually it's depend on your place. I just recently upgrade from 20 to 50 and satisfied( since the price remain same). As for youtube, streaming 1080p during peak hour are smooth brows.gif
And I dont know whether my theory is right, but if you have chance to change to unifi, better do so before your port is running out as some of user suffer port full and crying sweat.gif

hi guys. i just bought a 2nd wireless extender. dual band wireless extender.

A=existing extender
B=new extender

the problem i had is, i cant connect 2.4ghz network on B. is it because i had connected 2.4ghz to A and thats why it cannot connect to B? just an assumption cuz i cant find any answers on the net.

can anyone please verify this? i already tried reset and set in different settings, still cant connect.

while you have a chance to upgrade, just do!

Fibre optic broadband is far superior than the old ADSL. It's the right move.

The complaints you heard from the internet come from a very small percentage of unhappy users where most of their problems are easily solved.

Just do it!

Yeah, correct.

Unifi had problem with google servers for a while which I'm pretty sure is fixed already, and google app/apple store issue will be fixed soon, even Time Fibre is having the same issue as well these days icon_rolleyes.gif

is the VIP30 upgrade @ RM169 from VIP10 available through phone call? i'm told in twitter to visit the nearest TM Point which is 30 minutes drive away.

what are the downsides of upgrading it other than limited upload speed?

if no free fixed line calls then cannot already since my mom calls a lot.
