I am a streamyx 4 Mbps user. I'm planning to take the 30 Mbps UniFi offer. The contractor in charge to install the equipment at my house doesn't recommend me of getting the new package (30 @ 50 mbps). He already come to my house and just before he began the process, he advice to take 5 @ 10 @ 20 Mbps the 'original' UniFi package as there already many complaint taken from user. After a while reading this thread, I think it is still not a good time to upgrade from streamyx to UniFi. The speed test seems promising. But many of the user experienced slow download speed (apps store & Google store) and streaming video from YouTube. We are talking about true speed here and I don't encounter any of this problem with streamyx.

Actually it's depend on your place. I just recently upgrade from 20 to 50 and satisfied( since the price remain same). As for youtube, streaming 1080p during peak hour are smooth brows.gif
And I dont know whether my theory is right, but if you have chance to change to unifi, better do so before your port is running out as some of user suffer port full and crying sweat.gif
*
I don't encounter any traffic during any hour including peak hour using streamyx. Stable speed all the way. Does UniFi has issue on Internet traffic?

QUOTE(nikrizal @ Oct 5 2015, 08:22 PM)
while you have a chance to upgrade, just do!

Fibre optic broadband is far superior than the old ADSL. It's the right move.

The complaints you heard from the internet come from a very small percentage of unhappy users where most of their problems are easily solved.

Just do it!
*
The complaint that I read is from this thread.. Haha.. I think this thread should be more balance on the good and the bad.. All I'm reading was only the bad. That affect my decision.. sad.gif sad.gif

Anybody from streamyx, have you ever tried to call TM for a better deal of UniFi before going directly to tm point to apply? I've been loyal to tm for nearly 6 years. I just wonder if I could get any special offer

anyone notice of tm announcement on 15th October? Any insider that can tell what they will be announced? I've already made my UniFi application and they want to come for installation this saturday. If it's an even better deal, I want to cancel this ones

not so sure but seeing from their twitter it more related to mobile phone...

my opinion, i do believe they will introduce mobile data plan or magic things, they might bundle plan with iphone????....
*
Speaking of this twitter status, I don't believed they will launched another price deal or new UniFi plan as they just announced 30 and 50 Mbps last August. I think they just improvised their current plan with new mobile phone related package

I never thought that they will announced another price revise as they just announced the 30 Mbps plan last August. And I would less hesitate if I already get my bill and if I already use UniFi for 3 to 6 months. Mine is Less than a week bro

Guys.. for those who just installed unifi at home for the package RM 210.94 please check with tm center your status. If in the system, your status is still pending @ process, U can still cancel your current subscription and subscribe the 179 package.

Just my 2 cent from a 5-days-unifi subscriber

User comment confirm it is asymmetrical speed  doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif

Also RM179 promo now only for 2 years ? After that back to RM199 ??

Anyone Lowyat member can confirm ? Please share  notworthy.gif

Based on previous experienced, tm would never change your monthly subscription. If it is RM 179 when you subscribe, then it will be RM 179 as long as you are not terminating your service.

After reading so many complaints here, always makes me wonder if I should make the jump to Unifi from Streamyx as it is so common for TM to under deliver. You also wont get the speeds you paid for except during the initial installation/ upgrade and speeds will drop after some time. Rm200 per month for broadband alone is really a lot of money.
*
Back in the day, I was same as you. This thread got so much negativity towards tm UniFi. After reading 20 pages of this thread, I also post something like yours. I'm former 4 Mbps streamyx user. The thing is, there are so many people Lodge here just to complain and finding people who have the same problem as them with hoping that can solve it together. Very few people post something as they're satisfied with their broadband. My advice (as being advice to me back then), higher speed is always better. Now I'm using 30 Mbps and very happy with it.

go to TM asked, they insist me to upgrade instead of cancel n subscribe,
saying new subscription will need to pay advance payment n installation fee (maybe).

Go back to nearest TM point and lodge a report aka laporan bertulis. Or lodge to SKMM or TM website to make a report. Voice out your complain in written form. Rather than just cakap-cakap. Make them know

Ok, so from what I've read here

1) Updating/download apps from appstore with unifi is slow for some reason

2) Only those who received calls from tm gets free call with the new unifi package.

3) The new pricing from 30mbps includes rm20 rebates for the next 2 years. So once that's over, the price reverts back to to rm199 then?
*
1) apparantly the appstore slow update is been experienced world wide. There are few article in a post before in this thread as prove. Just go through with it.

2) yes

3) no. The new pricing is a tm campaign for those who subscribe since the date they announce until end of this year. And the price will remain even after contract ended

Hi all. Quick question; does the new Unifi 50mbps supports users in high rise buildings? Last time I was informed that it does not.
*
Contractor who install UniFi on my building said High rise can only support for 30 Mbps. You better go to tm point for further info

Hi all,
i'm going to upgrade my streamyx to unifi.
but i got a question.
router and modem will be at the living room, but my tv is in room.
so can i put the set top box in my room? or it is a must to put near the router?
*
Just buy a longer LAN cable. That will solve the problem. How do i know? Coz ive done so.
