Hi guys, Not sure if its been discussed before but would like to clarify..

My credit card only allow cash back for merchant with MCC 5411, 5422 & 5451. I see under category 5411 there is 99 speed mart, Giant and etc..

Is it safe to assume that all 99 outlets, Giant and etc also falls under this MCC code?

And also for MCC 5541 (Service Stations (with/without ancillary services), if I were to purchase items from the station store i.e. Kedai Mesra or Shell Select, would the cash back be applicable too?

1) yes, generally giant, 99sm, kkmart are all using MCC5411 (grocery). be careful of Aeon Supermarket, sometimes they mixed up using terminals from their GMS section and your payment would be identified as Departmental category (MCC 5311) instead

2) generally yes for MCC 5541 service station. anything you purchase inside, are using MCC 5541. however, some caveats too. some stations doesnt use MCC 5541 too. some may be using different MCC.

all in all, you gotta do some trial and errors to find out your preferred locations are using which MCC.

99sm, kkmart -- safely to say, yes

others, no guarantee.

mart/grocers may seems like Grocery, but their banks may consider them as "misc stores".

Guys, if buy from Guardian/Watson's online store, do you qualify for "Pharmacy" MCC category?

Do online store transactions even have MCC? If yes, is it usually same as physical store MCC?
