And what's the function of this hold button? It can only help to unlock the boot, that's it right? Seems useless... Thought it was gonna slide the boos all the way up or something? Hahaha
*
again, I asked same thing like you 1-2 months ago tongue.gif *new owner curiosity huh icon_rolleyes.gif *

and yeah, quite useless function. Not practical at all..

Ok, i just have this weirdest experience of my life, u know the little compartment under the right side of the steering where u could put ur smart tag or something, it just ATE my smart tag... shocking.gif
I put my smart tag in, close it, then some how it got stucked inside, the compartment can open full, but smart tag got stucked, so the i tried to take out the cover without success, then i tried to push it back to see if i can somehow get it out in diff direction, then i manage to pushed into the cut hole, it dropped, BUT it didn't drop to the carpet, apparently it dropped into another space behind doh.gif So i'm not stucked, how am i gonna rescue my smart tag? icon_question.gif

P/s: dun ask me how it got stucked inside, just closed it, and it just got stucked.. sweat.gif
*
no worries. First time I put my smart tag in also it got stuck a while. Just fiddle here and there and can open back. Oh and you say it dropped into the drive-side compartment hole? Try take out the tray and search for your smart tag then?

anyway, now I put the black-side of smart tag facing outwards (meaning the white part/card side) facing flat/downwards towards the plastic tray.. No more stuck problems for Smart tag.

So i'm not the first 1 got this really weird incident, trying to take out the cover 2molo, too dark, cannot c already.
Can treat it as a design fault?both the compartment & the smart tag..LOL sweat.gif
*
No la, nothing faulty. It's just the smart tag at certain angles make it bigger and thus cant properly fit in the small drive-side tray (because of the battery compartment that is bulging out instead of a straight slim design).. Ok maybe smart tag design fault la. Plus the button to check balance so damn hard to press vmad.gif

Just collected my car today. Door rattle has been solved. Steering havent tested yet. Air cond now have some fragrance coming out when I off the compresser but blower/fan is on. Rest of the details are in the image below. Reverse sensor so far no problem. Total cost, RM141.25.
[attachmentid=5292424]
If you have to remove the small glove box, I have a tutorial here.
Isnt that normal for all banks to ask for that?
*
bruh. I tried to call COE at 8am in the morning to inform them wanna cancel appointment. but it goes to voicemail straight. "The extension 9333 is not available bla bla bla.." ? Was this what you saying that need multiple calls only able to get through them? Anyway whole day I tried calling COE, and keep getting that message. Sometimes when call straight voicemail, sometimes call will ring a while then go to voicemail.. doh.gif

So in the end whole day of me trying to get in contact with them still couldn't contact them. Then I tried to call Setapak branch as well cause need to send car for service, whole day also nobody pick up, keep ringing ringing mad.gif

Anyway, tomorrow (Saturday) or Sunday I will just straight send the car in for service. Hopefully they will service it. Will try to go at 8am to be the first customer so that dont affect so much on others who might have booked.

Yeah I went today to try my luck but it was fully booked . So I booked on Wednesday @ 2pm at Setapak SC..

and I guess i will only be doing routine service. Cause I'm only free on Weds after 12pm. So I guess my dashboard rattle and odometer will have to come back another day to solve them.. sad.gif

Dear all
I collected my Iriz today, noticed few things below which i am not sure if these are defects

1. Headlamp cannot turn on without starting up engine?
2. Just now first ride, i feel some weird smell which i dont know how to describe. Something like steel. Anyone experience this before?
*
for 1. i never tried before so dont know

for weird smells, let your car air for few days like maybe wind down windows when driving or put fragrance, etc.

Can be many causes: 1) new car smell 2) those carpet/plastics smell 3) air-cond smell

But after few days of driving the car and still got the "steel" smell then go complaint.

Anyway, did you experienced any rattling noise or suspension noise, etc??

day 1 just ended for me, today ride is good except the 2 mentioned above.

Rattling, i am not sure it was rattling or my house key is shacking. But i guess generally it is minimal, if not non rattling as of now

Suspension is fine for me too

engine/cvt noise is too much, do you know if we can do any insulation?
*
I honestly dont know how to tell the difference between engine/cvt noise.

But the exhaust noise also contribute to it being "noisy". Sometimes we think that it's the engine/cvt that is noisy but in actual fact it's the exhaust..

hope so too. But if anything, at least there's warranty to cover.

Here at Setapak SC for first service.
Btw, at waiting area they provided milo drink and those vege-biscuits in packets.

Told the SA 6 complaints:
1) dashboard rattle
2) door rattle (happened only few times but just let them check)
3) wiper hose
4) odometer display + the service reminder days not reducing
5) fluctuating radio volume
6) check for tcu/ecu updates.

Will update later how it goes. Btw, SA told me engine oil is petronas syntium 10-40. That's the standard semi-syn oil they recommend/use right??

Update:
3) wiper hose mechanic fixed it back. But he just put the hose back in, didn't see him use tapes or any wiring. Don't know if in future it will loosen and come out again or not..
6) no tcu/ecu updates. Mechanic said for 1.3 there's no updates. Is it true? yawn.gif
4) odometer mechanic said he will order the parts, so have to come back when parts arrived.
5) and for this, he told me the radio got something wrong and they have to remove it and send it to Penang (I guess they will send it back to Blaupunkt's factory..) to fix.. takes 2-3 weeks. I told him I will see how and come back another day if I decide to go radioless for 1 month...
6) dashboard now he currently fixing. Saw him remove the a-pillars cover and taped up some wires. And also he doing a lot of testing. Fix/tape/tighten something then he drive the car around and come back and repeat.he did that quite a few times already. .

hopefully with all the testing, the rattling will be resolved...

hahah then what to do? Live with fluctuating radio volume? dry.gif

Actually, I don't really plan to send it to Penang too.. It doesn't bother me enough to go radioless for 1 month... Haiz.

Just done first service at Setapak SC. Paid RM 141.80

Here's my review:

-Sent in for service at 1.30pm (2pm appointment) @ 12xx km on odometer.
-Told SA my problems.
-Waited at the lounge and had some milo and biscuits.
-They only started work on the car at around 2.30pm.

-Cleaned the air filter with compressed air, filled up washer tank with water.
-Drained engine oil and oil filter
-Put in new oil filter, poured in new engine oil (Syntium 800)

-fixed back the front-right wiper hose. (worried in the future it might loosen and get detached again as there was no taping/wiring done)
-checked with laptop for tcu/ecu updates. No updates and mechanic said Iriz 1.3 doesn't have updates.

-odometer replacement, parts ordered. As for the service reminder on odometer no. of days not reducing, mechanic said for 1st service it's like that. It doesn't reduce. After 1st service onward it should reduce the days as normal. adijb
-fluctuating radio volume, mechanic said he have to take out the whole radio unit and send it to Penang for fixing, it will take about 2-3 weeks.
^problem not solved, KIV.

-dashboard rattling, mechanic tightened some screws/taped some wiring.
-after service, drove on some bumpy roads without the radio turned on to listen for any sounds, and the "main" culprit of rattling was solved. No more like loose parts inside the dashboard making sounds.
-but i could hear some faint noise of something, not sure what it is. Don't think I can hear it if the radio is turned on.
^So will update any changes over the next few days and see if it is truly resolved. *praying hard*

Overall, was an okay experience. The SC was very clean, even at the workstations. The SC staffs were friendly enough. Oh and also, as someone mentioned before, their phone system is down. They cannot receive any calls. I guess almost all the SC having this problem.. Next service in 5 months 2x days or 87xx km.

My only complaints towards the mechanic tending my car:

-there's some oil smudge on my windscreen after service the car shakehead.gif

Oh and some observation of other cars at the SC: There were 2 other Iriz doing service as well. 1 of it was a 1.6 premium, car totally cannot start at all. push start button not working. They tried changing batteries but doesn't work. Then some Preve with overheating/sensor problem.

I'm guessing it's a Blaupunkt problem and not Proton problem.

If Proton problem they can fix it themselves or straight give a replacement unit.
