Thanks!
Need to test drive first..i'm not a vroom2 guy haha but the fuel consumption do matters to me. But otr price, the IRIZ is much better atm..with a lot more safety features
*
Yeap do test drive both cars, to see which you prefer.

Hmm, fuel consumption matters as in how? Very strict budget?
Basically Axia real world FC is around 15~17km per liter of petrol while Iriz FC figures around 12~14km per liter.

Roughly, Axia full tank gives you around 600km. Iriz full tank gives you around 500km.
Which translates to around RM 15 more for petrol on the Iriz.

Yes bro, you're right. Unfortunately it just unlocks the boot, and will still have to be manually opened. I find the feature quite redundant for Premium spec owners because it's faster to just open it manually while the keyfob is in their pocket.

I dream of the day when Iriz boot lids open and close at the touch of a button like in more expensive cars tongue.gif
*
yeap, I don't think i've ever used that function other than to test it out.. Cause still have to press button at the boot to open it. So no difference using remote or not..

well, wonder if they could ever find a solution, but i think that's the risk
you need to bear when it comes to proton, notorious with its assembly quality.
wonder if perodua have these thousand years problems?
d*mn, that's making me have 2nd thought on iriz.. sweat.gif
*
bro you think Perodua godly quality control meh?

Go Axia thread, you will see ppl complaining about dashboard rattling too, and also some of them seats are rattling.
Go City thread, you will also see people complaining about dashboard rattling.

Most likely than not, any brand that is locally assembled will have some rattling issues.

If you have test driven the car and is satisfied with the Iriz, don't let this rattling issue deter you.

My 2cents, rattling issues can be solved, but once you chose a car that you don't like, you will be stuck with it for a very long time smile.gif

definitely a test drive would be important..by the way, during test drive, what aspect should I observe? handling, cornering, etc?
*
acceleration (traffic light), speed (highway), ride and handling, noise level, radio quality.

Don't know why they made the reverse sensor alerts so soft. After a year you'd think they'd make it louder for the later batches.
*
Now Iriz already 1 year old, new cars coming off production line still have the same issues as the day Iriz was launched.. doh.gif

:- Dashboard rattling
:- Door rattling
:- Rubber on top of roof still easily comes off.
:- Wiper hose still loose.
:- Radio volume fluctuates.

Test drove the 1.3mt executive today, njust some basic drive around, pretty ok, acceleration maybe
Felt abit heavy then my saga, maybe its the weight? Wind noise and all is manageable.
Overall felt ok, anything tat is better then my 10yo saga is gud  sweat.gif
I know, but most ppl criticized proton more than perodua, there must be a reason rite? Just
curious not complaining. I also drive a 10yo saga.
*
Don't forget that Perodua dont build their cars. It's taken from an already available platform + coupled with old age proven technology, so it's more stable and have less problems.

Yeah I know what you mean. My previous car before Iriz was a Saga LMST. It rattles like a real tin milo lol.

But between that Saga and this Iriz, totally opposite of each other.

and yes, Iriz is a very heavy car. Tbh, sometimes I miss driving my Saga manual, because that car is seriously a tin milo, it's damn light and acceleration in it was fun.

Well at least, Iriz punya rattle is some plastic parts (hopefully can be fixed when i do my first 1k km service). That Saga, it was metal type of rattling sound. Way way louder and worse, and no way to fix it..

Tak boleh solve one bro the rattling. Now door panel pun rattling. Lol. Just bear with it lo. 40k is quite worthy
*
some owners here managed to get their dashboard rattling solved. Like the other day, someone posted that he send the car to Mutiara Damansara SC, his rattling now solved.

Basically, leave the car overnight unless you manage to go at 8am and first customer of the day, it all depends. But yeah, the SC will remove and re-install/tighten the dashboard I think.. Don't know if they will put in any additional insulation/rubber/sponges to further help the rattling or not.

Btw guys, my car now is 600km...

I received my car on 30th September. So means my first month will be 30th October.

So 7 more days, I don't think I will travel 400km within this 7 days.

Do I still send in the car for first service on 30th. Or can delay till reach 1k km first? Further, in the service manual, the service schedule didn't state a time period for first service, only stated 1k km distance. Unlike 2nd service onward it gives a time period of 6months/10k km..

EDIT: And also, need to do booking before send for service right? Do I call Proton helpline or what to make the booking? and how many days prior to service must call to do booking?

No need to be exact. A service advisor once told me the 1st service should not exceed 3 month if car still not reach 1000km.

I am made to understand that you need to make a booking for your service appointment with the sc that you want to go to. No specific number of days prior. My mt service was booked 2 days ago. My other cars were booked over a week before.
*
Okay, so I can get to around 1k km only send for service then? Will definitely not be more than 3 months, most probably 1-2 weeks after my supposed first month.
Good for me then, don't have to send it in so fast.

So once i choose which SC I want to go to, then call them up to make appointment that's it?

I seriously doubt that. Can the forumer confirm? I replied him and asked him how did they solve the problem but no reply one. Lol.

They tighten my dashboard but still the same. Guess have to send there for few days?
*
Actually, can't really say. Some came back from SC with resolved rattling issue. Some came back from SC with unresolved rattling issue.

When you send it for service, how long did they took to service it?

BTW heavy rain today. Went over speed bump my rear suspension makes a loud groaning noise. Didn't happen before lol.
*
I had that sound on my first day of collecting the car. The road was wet, but didn't go over speed bump. Just normal road, but I was cornering.

Heard one loud "goong" sound from the left rear. Don't know it's suspension or whatever else.

Didn't think twice about it because it was a one time thing and I couldn't replicate it, tried going over multiple speed bumps at varying speeds, from medium speed 40km/h to low speed 20km/h. All no sound. So yeah.. But until this day, I'm still curious what sound is that lol.

Started my car to day today and realised there's a blacked out line. Display sudah mati ke? One whole line, no pixels. Can claim warranty? (if pic is blurry, pls click to enlarge)

Hi Marlick, I'm interested to get 1.6 Manual Premium also. But there is some concern in my mind.

1. What is your RPM in 5th gear during 80kmh, 100kmh, 110kmh and 120kmh?
2. Is there any rattling sound in your car so far?
3. How is your Iriz fuel consumption so far?

Also, please elaborate more on the power  brows.gif

I'm still undecided whether to wait for 1.3 Turbo 6 Speed manual or just get the 1.6 Manual will do  hmm.gif
*
I don't think 1.3 turbo 6speed MT is coming out anytime soon though....

From standstill and you wanna move the car fast, try pressing until over 2000rpm. Below 1400rpm, the car feels lazy to move. Above 2000 rpm, or at least above 1800 rpm, the cvt springs to life.

Do be careful of any cars or obstacles in front of you tho..
*
wanna ask, does the 1.6 too have this lazy to move feeling? Or just the 1.3? hmm.gif

Hey guys.. Dilemma choosing which SC to go to for my first 1k service..

I have these issues that needs attention:
1) Dashboard rattling.
2) Right wiper hose came out.
3) There's a line of dead pixels on my Odometer/Multi-info display.
4) Radio volume fluctuates. (say volume is set at 10, sometimes it will get softer then go back up to usual volume)

- Should I send it to COE, since it's their HQ and they may have relevant tools/knowledge to deal with the problems, or
- Try my luck at Mutiara Damansara SC since someone here managed to get dashboard rattling problem solved, or
- Setapak SC since I live in Sentul and it's the nearest to me.

Currently at 930km. Plan to send it for service on Monday/Wednesday next week. (Have to call the relevant SC up to do booking latest by tomorrow I guess..)

and also, what else will be done for 1k service other than changing engine oil and filter? What about tyre alignment/balancing all those? Do they check those stuff? (although I have no problems with them)

Oh and also, what engine oil do they have if i'm planning to go for semi-syn EO? Which EO & viscosity is recommended?

I go with the needed only for my service. Alignment & balancing will cost extra. I don't see the need at 1st service especially as you have no issue on that.

As for EO, just inform SC which type that you want such as semi. SC will know which semi and the suitable viscosity to use.
*
Oh they would charge for checking alignment/balancing? I thought they would like check it then if there is any adjustments that needs to be made only they would charge you for it..

Btw wanna ask, at the multi-info display where it shows Time period/KM remaining for next service. I know the KM will decrease as you drive the car, but does the Months decrease too?

Say for example 6 months/10k km after first service. If after 2 months and 2k km driven, would it show 4 months/8k km or 6months/8k km?

Cause right now my car shows 1 month and xx km remaining to service. When i got the car it was 1 month/1k km remaining for service. So the month thing didn't change to like say 10 days or 5 days, etc.
