QUOTE(king99 @ May 11 2018, 09:48 PM) Added a fan to my GIGABYTE Ultra-Gaming 2.0 VRM, temps went from 90c to 75++c. Now only dare to push it up. Can you tell me how did you 'attach' that fan? I want to do the same thing Now 4.5 GHZ with max load temp of 84c during prime small FFT. This temp should be ok right ? Resit and repaste the Masterair 4 with multiple diff thermal paste also this temp, now on Kyronaught. I guess this cooler cannot <80 oc haha. |

I have some weird issue now.
1) Gigabyte Ultra Gaming 2.0 + Corsair PSU, whenever I stress Prime 95 randomly it will cause a coil whine near the top vrm area. Other then Prime 95, didn't heard it. 2) Maybe my Motherboard have not good components, sold it to a friend who building a new PC. Got a Z370 Gaming 7 and guess what, the Coil Whine is still there ! 3) Maybe its' PSU, got an EVGA PSU and still coil whine is there. Both PSU tested are 750W. Tried different power cable as well... 4) Maybe its GPU, so I removed my GPU and use the intel HD and still its there. I can live with it as it only appear during Prime 95 as far as I know. Just annoying when I am stress testing. Wonder what could be causing this ? Do you think it's the motherboard problem ? Bad luck 2 in a row ? Both are new btw. Even at stock speed the whine is there...I tried Real Bench and Prime without AVX and there is no audible whine. I guess the trigger is AVX ? |

Coil whine is usually not affecting stability, just might be annoying. There have been some complaints about the Gaming 7 having a coil whine issue, most probably coming from the chokes they used. |

QUOTE(hazard_puppet @ Jun 9 2018, 06:05 AM) hi, need help My 8700K (non-delid) run at 70C at stock clocks @ 1.125v with a 240mm AIO cooler.i juz bought i7 8700k + asrock z370 exteme4, cooled by h100i v2 even at stock, prime95 will give me 80+c temp, vcore around 1.15v, wtf is this is this normal? if i tried to bump up vcore to 1.2v, tem0 will reach 90+ is tis normal or something is wrong, i already tried to reapplied thermal paste twice, same result Monitor your vCore etc with HWiNFO64 software and post the screenshot over here. Check your pump and fan speeds are ramping up to max when it gets hot. AFAIK by default Corsair's CUE software will ask the AIO cooler operating at "Silent Mode" rather than the more powerful "Performance Mode". Update the mobo BIOS to make sure that the settings are optimized ones. Check the Multicore Enhancement (MCE), disabling it will keep the temps low. Check the CPU Loadline Calibration (LLC) setting, for ASRock Level 1 means the minimum vDroop (vCore decreases at load) or might be vDrop (vCore increases at load) a little bit. You may try Level 2. |
