Nowadays this thread kind of slow after Maybank revoked the 5% Cash back for all transactions with the AMEX.

But did you know that the Maybank 2 Cards Gold/Platinum is pretty good for accumulating AirAsia Big Points? Actually the Maybank 2 Cards AMEX Gold/Plat it is one of the best credit card (exclude Mayabnk 2 Cards Premier) to use to purchase AirAsia tickets!

was called up by maybank and said that they're giving me this two cards without applying... I think because my salary account is with maybank.

After looking at their credit card, doesn't seems to me like it is really unique with lots of features... only dining on weekend.

I never expect the currency exchange rate to be so high using Maybank VISA. I saw that VISA was having a promotion in Japan and giving 6% discount, so I chose to use VISA instead of cash. It turned out their currency rate is nearly 30% higher than normal money changer rate.

Oh gosh, I lost about rm1k for this mistake. I checked VISA website and their rate was normal too, ie similar to nornal money changer. So my guest is, maybank charged additional % into it while converting the currency.

This is too much, I was expecting 10% difference at most. Sigh.

Currency exchange rate differs from day to day.
Were you using it when the Ringgit was busy plunging to the deep?

Already called, they said temporarily increase credit limit will not eligible for EPP, unless you increase permanently, but need to submit form for approval, so troublesome. mad.gif
