i lost my cc once and only realised around 1 week later. when checked saw 3 petrol transactions on the day i lost. luckily he didn't continue to use it on the following days.

I never expect the currency exchange rate to be so high using Maybank VISA. I saw that VISA was having a promotion in Japan and giving 6% discount, so I chose to use VISA instead of cash. It turned out their currency rate is nearly 30% higher than normal money changer rate.

Oh gosh, I lost about rm1k for this mistake. I checked VISA website and their rate was normal too, ie similar to nornal money changer. So my guest is, maybank charged additional % into it while converting the currency.

This is too much, I was expecting 10% difference at most. Sigh.

I noticed that in my card statement under Treatpoints section, it is written "MAYBANKARD 2 AMEX 4X"....how come I am getting 4x points instead of 5x? Or is this 4x referring to something else??
