Please, don't waste the money on whitefox.

Curious about this too.

Also, any news about your upcoming budget acrylic custom? I suspect you're still busy with your TGR Jane right now.

Yeah. Reds are nice, but I've always preferred the clicky sounds. I tried a few keyboards out, but I got the Razer Blackwidow with the green clicky switches. Honestly, I feel like they're a great feel for typing & gaming. They give you the satisfying clicky noise that blue switches does and it gives you responsive clicks like reds do.
*
Don't get confused with the actual Cherry MX Green switch, as they are in no way fun for gaming and is probably the heaviest switch out there. But it like them the most, and I use it for both gaming and typing.

The Green on the Blackwidow is a variant of the Cherry MX Blue, they should feel almost the same.

hmm... now im really interested in trying the Gateron blues... wanna know what is the magic behind it  laugh.gif
Agreed. Actua MX Green is definitely heavier than blues and i have to say it is not quite suitable for long term typing, but for gaming, i think it is kind of good as when you game, you use only a few particular keys (think WASD, QWER, or numpad) and since it is heavier, it would be less likely for misclicking.  hmm.gif
*
For MOBA or RTS, yes, it's pretty good. Prevents misclicking, but you're not gonna like if you play FPS games heavily, which you may prefer Reds over anything else. Besides, I think the Black is the better alternative to Greens for gaming, if you like the Greens but want to game heavily.

I'm interested in trying out a 60%, thinking of buying a POK3R. Do they really cost RM600+? If anybody can point in the direction of a better deal, I'd appreciate it.
*
Someone is selling his Poker II in the Facebook group. Not sure if he still wants to sell it or if it's already sold. POK3R is more expensive, and if you don't care about its aluminum case, then Poker II should suffice.

However, if you really want POK3R, then Ultimate.Zone is selling them for almost RM600, not over.

Do you think this keycap set would be able to fit every key on the Razer Blackwidow? (kailh switches version)

icon_question.gif
*
Probably not on some, like the bottom row? I use the Blackwidow quite frequently but I can't really remember.

That was my main concern as well. A lot of people said buttons like the CTRL, Windows, ALT, Spacebar and stuff are not matching for the Blackwidow and other Cherry MX compatible switches.  cry.gif

Or you can just find a set for only the characters and find other sets for the modifiers.

The one that is very active in this very own thread is StoreUni (@quovadis123). http://www.storeuni.com/collections/keycaps-set

There are also some others, but most of them are the usual Tai Hao keycaps. I believe Ultimate.Zone sells PBT keycaps too.

Just got myself the Razer Blackwidow Chroma Tournament Edition. My first mechanical keyboard. Haven't tried it yet, but fell in love when I tried the demo unit at the shop. Any recommended preset etc?
*
Use it however you like it. If you're talking about the LED, try checking out the cool Music Visualiser plugin. It's hella cool.

any recommended keycap for playing starcraft in poor lit environment? currently my key are all black and occasionally keep unable to different B and V key. my keyboard has no backlight either.

keyboard is gigabyte force k83

I think white on blacks or black on whites will do. I used to be able to see my non backlit keyboard just fine in the dark since they are white on blacks.

Else it's all muscle memories.

Life, man. Can't do anything. Just a few more days before I can enjoy my new set of keycaps.

Gonna try them with and without O-rings. How they feel and how they sound. Gonna have to memorise the layout of this keyboard first before then. Those are blank keycaps lol, the new ones.

I like linears only when playing rhythm games like O2Jam or osu!mania. Lol. I feel that the most important thing when it comes to linears is the chassis of the keyboard. Some produces really nice sound, and feel.

I particularly like the SteelSeries Apex M800. The switches are light like a feather, but is actually very nice to type on. Not to mention the godly LED. I played minesweeper and snake games on it lol.

i am actually not really liking the feels on these black switches. or maybe it was the low profile key caps on that WYSE keyboard. will try it on other types of keycaps.
*
Low profile keycaps are sometimes fun, but too low is very annoying and hard to type on IMO. I tend to hit the keys hard, pure satisfaction.

What can I do, I have big, fat, bony fingers.

Anyone kind enough to recommend me cheapest RGB mechanical keyboard available?

Any brand would do.

Its been long time since I've research on mech keyboards and with Malaysia currency, I got no idea of prices nowadays. The cheapest keyboard available I've seen is more than RM350, wondering if there are cheaper than this.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance.

I believe there are some E-Elements RGB that goes for pretty cheap.

Also, Granite DSA on Massdrop. Beautiful.

oh..cute cat you got there.. wanna ask, will the keycaps be compatible with all mechanical keyboards from all brand??

if I'm getting, I think i'll try out the LingYi Black Widow. Still researching.

If it's MX compatible switch, then you just need to check for the layout. But if you get a non-gaming keyboard, you most likely won't have any issues.

Well, since you don't care about the switches you might as well just lool for the one with the most customizable backlighting. That's what you want, but cheap ones probably can't.

I talked about the SteelSeries Apex M800 the other day, if any of you noticed (lol) but anyway, here's some pics. I tried my best to take some photos, I'm really bad at photography lol.

It's pretty cool.

Not mechanical. Get lost.
Then you don't know about this keyboard. I'm not talking about the lame SteelSeries Apex which is obviously a rubber dome or membrane (I can't remember), this is the Apex M800 which uses their own QS1 switch. The switch is light as a feather and really short in height too. It's so light that I can't almost feel what I'm typing, which is kinda annoying. And yup, not MX compatible. The spacebar freaked me out too when I first saw it.

Not mine, but my relative. He got it for free for reason unknowns lol.

Kennot change keekap. Get lost.

But in all seriousness, I hate SS as much as I hate Razer after my middle button broke on the mouse.

Most of my concern is that this is a bling bling board for "gamers" with a linear-like switch that's not really any special except for having the LEDs  in the middle.

If you look at the pictures online, first thing I noticed was fingerprints on the spacebar... which means the caps are probably POM with a paint coating on top.

And as justnits said, good luck with changing the keycaps a few years down the road. I estimate WASD to wear down in about 12 months.
p/s; Yes I know nothing about SS or Razer boards because the moment I see those brands I turn off completely ady. tongue.gif
*
Neither do I lol. The keycaps feels very thin and as expected, it's purely for bling-bling. They claimed it as the most programmable mechanical keyboard, maybe just the backlighting is the most programmable, I don't know. I didn't spend too much time on it, but yeah I can't play snake and minesweeper on the keyboard. So they weren't lying, perhaps?

What can I say though, it's a keyboard targeted for the "gaming" community. Most of them don't even care about the switches, how it feels and whether or not those keyboards have any impacts on their typing experience but just only for the bling-bling. When we talk about a keyboard, they all scream RGB and the software to modify the backlighting right now. It's sad lol, makes me wonder what does that have anything to do with gaming at all.

Is there a FAQ for keycaps somewhere? Just got myself my first mech (see siggy) and already tempted to change keycaps. Why are they so expensive? doh.gif Taobao and eBay pricing also so scary doh.gif
*
That's your first and you wrote there "reliable"? How are people gonna trust you lol?

Honestly, you're not gonna like the idea of switching keycaps unless you have the money. They're crazy expensive for some reasons.

There are some cheap sets, but it's not going to be better than your stock ones.

Hello guys.. I am new here.. Planning to get a mechanically keyboard for myself but I'm not sure which one to buy.. I stayed at johor.. Most of the shops only sell corsair and razor..but my burger is around 300 to 400.. Which one is the best mechanical keyboard for you all? I only play dota 2. Thanks for your suggestions! Appreciated
*
If you're only using it for Dota, then you don't need RM300-400. Check out @KuzumiTaiga signature, he's selling one that's cheap but pretty good. That could be good enough for you.
