Nope, physical store is the only way to go unless you trust resellers.

The wax holding the wallet together is falling apart. Gonna give it another 1 year or so before it completely dies.

Hi, i'm wondering how good is a "custom" leather wallet made by a local maker? Been looking around and wondering why is it so much cheaper comparing to designer brands. Is the leather quality really not as good as those?

Leather quality, generally speaking I would say almost none of the local makers I have seen use crap leather. Most of them use veg tan or crazy horse, which is very different from the heavily finished leathers used by the likes of Coach or Braun Buffel. Not better or worse, just different.

Build quality wise, that will vary wildly from maker to maker.

Why is it cheaper? Well because these are mostly unknown independent makers, with no brand power to demand high prices. Plus, you are generally not paying any markups for retail staff, shop rental, advertising, middle-men, etc.

If you see something you like, then I would say they deserve your support!
