after set DNS try restart phone.. if macbook or iMac just flush dns should be good imho.. if not try the VPN solution like others suggested.. so far I'm getting good result with DNS setting.. I'm using the google DNS.. both for macbook and ip6+.. before this i want to download updates seem like ages to complete.. I'm on unifi VIP10.. Mavik so far how is VIP50? drool.gif

the thing is we shouldn't even go through the extra hassle of using a VPN, it should work right of the bat. and it doesn't help that the good VPNs have to be paid, then got quota lah.. and yes, restarting the phone after changing the DNS still does not work.

uhh i need help for those who are familiar with Twitter. i tried logging in just now and a message came out asking for my phone number and it would not proceed to my account until i keyed in my number. so i keyed in my phone number and asked for the verification code but the sms never came, even after a couple of hours. after a while i tried again and now it says this:

QUOTE
Due to a technical issue, we couldn't complete this request. Please try again.

what do i do? what is stopping me from receiving my verification code via sms? i'm pretty sure i keyed in the right number (1X-XXXXXXX = +601X-XXXXXXX)

TM called me and confirmed there is some software update required their side with Apple. Now they already updated and the download for App Store resume normal. For my case, I have tried on my iPhone, iPad, and MacBook. All seem normal now. Hopefully this time they really resolve it.
*
Why didn't they just announce on Twitter? I'm still out so can other users test it? If more are getting their original speed then no need to harass TM anymore

i called 100 just, needed to verify something with Unifi. while i was waiting for my call to be transferred, an automated message said that Unifi is experiencing issues with App Store downloads and they are currently investigating it. so yeah issue is still ongoing unfortunately and they've acknowledged it to be from their side..

previously i was using a DNS from Japan, not blazing fast but enough to get the job done though. btw i already Tweeted @TMConnects, here's the usual response;

Hi. Fyi, our team still diagnose on the issue. We unable to provide the time frame. Sorry for the inconvenience.

guys check your downloads. i got a few updates just now so i just thought of leaving to update at its usual slow pace. but all of the sudden the downloads blazed through and was done in seconds. i tried downloading a random app and again it downloaded really fast for me. please check guys and report your findings. thanks.

The problem comes and goes. Sometimes it crawls and sometimes it blazes. To add to that, Apple seem to be having some issues of their own. There have been (afaik) two documented outages for iTunes and/or the App Store in the past 7 days, and in between that people from all over the world have had issues with downloads stopping midway, apps not updating properly, etc. Yesterday while I was in Singapore, there were a couple of instances where downloading an app wouldn't start, so I had to stop the download and start it again, and then it blazed through. Also one app update completely downloaded (the circle filled completely) but than just stayed like that forever without changing to the "Open" icon like usual. Had to completely delete the app and install it again. Now back in JB and had 1GB worth of updates (Pages + Numbers + Keybnote) in the morning and the speed was normal, but just now I needed to update a 50MB app and it started crawling again. At this point, I'm not even sure if it's a TM caching/throttling problem or some issue on Apple's side. Also experienced this same slow download or stuck at waiting issue with my Singapore ISP (MyRepublic Internet) a few days ago, but they managed to resolve it in two days.
*
Dang just read your post, tried it out and yeah, back to crawling speed. I read somewhere online about ISP providers needing to download a firmware or something from Apple, so they should communicate with each other. Don't know whether it's true or not though

Slightly improve only manage upgrade iOS9 in 20mins non-peak hrs morning, but at night you will get mad with 14.4kb modem speed yours apps forever download

Unifi 30mbps user here

Ugh you're right. Tried downloading an app i downloaded earlier; Wake Alarm Clock. Was way slower compared to just now. At least we roughly know the 'normal speed' window, which is around 3-5pm. I'll try to download around that time again tomorrow to test it out.

Okay i tried downloading the same app earlier and the speed is back. Will have to test in the coming days to determine whether these supposed windows are consistent and realible or just plain random. So far it's;

3pm-5pm
3.30am-?

Just changed the dns to usa dns...not that fast but still faster than not changing

http://public-dns.tk/nameserver/us.html

this solve my problem
*
yes changing the DNS is the temporary solution for now, no doubt about it. but for some weird reason it's quite exciting seeing the speed resume back to normal, like a seeing a shooting star haha despite the fact that the speed is what we paid for.

by the way i tested the same app again at 3.02pm, the speed is back to normal. i'll try again tomorrow to conclude whether or not 3pm-5pm is the window for our normal download speed.

Yeah i can confirm this morning (5am - 10am) was really fast. Barely a few seconds and the app finished downloading. As soon as it reached 11am (if i'm not mistaken but was about to reach noon) the speed dropped back.. Managed to download almost everything back though except for 2-3 apps (i restored this morning)

I found out the download speed will be normal after 3am. I got no idea why...
*
yeah for me it's 3am-10am and 3pm-5pm the speed is normal. and the weird part for me is downloading an app is a lot faster than updating an app.

Ya around tis time speed is ok
But weird thing is even at tis time some apps upgrade very fast some very slow

Call TM technician ask me contact apple told me is their problem not TM apa la
*
hmm mine is the opposite though. if you call the normal technician, i highly doubt they know what's going on. try calling 100, choose the language, choose Unifi and then press 2 if i recall correctly (the option where you have technical difficulties and you need to speak to the operator). before my call was forwarded, an automated message played saying that they are having technical problems with App Store downloads and are currently investigating. even their official Twitter channel are saying the same thing. the damn problem is they have been investigating for how long already..

Yes very inconsistent symptoms. When slow, I turn on free vpn also slow. So I am starting to think it is really App Store issue...
But cannot explain why if via mobile data no issue???
*
aik VPN also slow? i thought VPN has been the most helpful so far (i don't use it personally though)

Something I've noticed for the last 4 or 5 days on both my Singapore ISP and TM UniFi;
When the update starts downloading and it crawls very very slowly, stop the update and start again. Usually the second or third time I restart, it'll fly like normal. Weird, but that’s what's been happening for me.
*
yeah that's what would happen sometimes, really slow updates compared to downloads. for me when the update is slow, i'll delete the app and download again (during the fast time slots though). if i'm not going out or anything i'll just leave it to update at its slow speed.

there's this weird bug that i'm facing where when i tap to pause an update or download, it'll grey out and pause like usual. then it'll suddenly resume to 'Loading' and the progress bar would just zoom all the way to the end, as if the download is finished. i would have to tap on it again just to pause it for good. when i tap to resume the update and download, it'll be stuck there for quite a while before returning back to its original progress.

QUOTE(666devil @ Oct 25 2015, 10:59 PM)
Random. Depends on luck. Turn off and on wifi in the phone might also help.
More and more pointing to App Store issue.
*
yeah something tells me Apple has a part of this as well.
