i just had a look at H8 1+8.
if i just want to watch online tv & movie, watch many of my offline movies (in external hdd), is H8 1+8 enough? i understand (may be wrong) that even the 2+16 has a bigger storage (16gb), it has been partitioned in such that user partition is quite small to install a lot of other apps. Not sure if pay more for 16gb is worth or not.

The 2GB RAM and 1GB RAM have significant different when you interact with the Android OS, Apps loading, file copy and etc. The 16GB flash is partitioned into 3 : OS, Apps(2GB) and Data(11GB). The 2GB Apps partition will limit the number of apps install, around 40 apps. The data partition is the user partition to store downloaded movies or staging space. The staging space is important for torrent base streaming application. For 8GB flash, the partition will be : OS, Apps(2GB) and Data(3GB).

My advice is to get the 2+16 version. I was thinking of getting the 1+8 version first as a test, add memory if needed. Checked with Nicety on whether I could add the memory later if I needed it.

Answer is, no, cannot add memory. Like your mobile phone. You are stuck with what you purchased.

I am already facing memory problem even with 2+16 version. Wish that they have a 4+32 version! Ha.

Enjoy your new toy!

Give me a shout if you see some good movies/documentaries in Netflix! Thanks.

after 3 days of local netflix, i will say...

... it is easy to use, smooth and reliable.

... himedia and many other androids are not netflix certified, so cannot get 4k uhd videos even if yr tv is 4k.

... content is VERY limited, e.g. only 40 tv shows.

... those like me who watch a good no. movies and tv shows will find little to watch.

... i only found ONE to watch - NARCOS, a 10-episode tv show.

... so, i will give it up soon.

Thanks.

The GOOD
Easier to use. Starts streaming without any problem (unlike Kodi where luck plays a part).

The BAD
Not much choice after watching a few of what you fancy. Watched the one about the internet boy (Aaron S) yesterday. Pity him at what happened to him.

The DECISION
I don't think I will continue with it after my free 1 month! Ha.

And Kodi & apk are better in choice and variety.

Yes, some apps are designed for Mobile Phone which is not Remote Control friendly, just plug in any USB mouse will help you navigate better.

Reversely, some apps are not touch screen friendly such as MangGoTV and MoreTV, use Remote Controller will be better then mouse.

Thank you for acknowledge receipt bro. Our box is not to replace Astro as Astro still have service guaranty. But the Android Box will change typical Malaysian watching TV behavior. With the iflix and Netflix entering Malaysia market, there will be more challenging for Astro if they do not change.

P/S : any Astro C level read this, pls feel free to pm me. Astro still has it own potential if the company operate towards right direction.

Thank you for inquiry, just pmed the order process.

Would like to clarify that Himedia is merely selling hardware, please don't confuse with those iptv service. We do not sell live tv channels. But there are many free streaming apps which could watch China, HK, TW, KR and English movies and dramas. Free sport live is difficult to find, you need to put some effort to search in the forum. Below thread you could find people share the live sport channels.

Hi Nicety,

Is there any way to disable the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen?
I know we can use mouse to hide it, but that is not permanent. It will re-appear after reboot.

EDIT: my current H8 firmware is 1.0.8. Should I upgrade to 1.0.9 (available in your one drive)?

Firmware 109 will be the same, the button bar will appear when the box is boot up. I will feedback to Himedia about this, hopefully they could have the option to hide the buttom bar permanently in the future firmware.

Hi Nicety

Is it all the latest movie/drama apps will be installed? Any recommendations for the live sports channel or can you help to pre-installed?

If the apps no longer valid, where will you provide the latest links for us to update?

Thanks.

Yes, the preinstalled free streaming apps included latest dramas and new movies(but not the movies current show in cinema).

Free Live sport are limited, you need some effort to search.

We have customer repo which store the latest firmware and latest free streaming apps available for customers only.
