received my unit yesterday afternoon (order #2034) in good condition, unit is basically plug and plag as nicety has already preinstalled many apps which is very useful for new android tv box user like me. however kodi looks complicated and will need more time to learn and explore. I find cloudtv is very stable (using Unifi 50 mbps) where I mostly watched their HD channels (switching channel is fast and picture quality is good), will consider subscribing to the package after the trial is over.

hi nicety, I have 2 questions :
a) how do I change/customise the layout of the initial screen i.e. the one after the hi-media logo disappears ?
b) I cannot access your one drive from your email. it shows the following error. any idea why ?

Thank you for your feedback:

a). I presumed you refer to Himedia Launcher. The square box in the upper part is not modifiable. The buttom 6 boxes is modifiable, you can add or remove the apps with the 6 boxes. Just click the plus sign icon to modify.

b). Have some problem with the skydrive, I have created new link and pmed to you.

Bro, minix do not have U8+ model. I believe you refer to Neo U1.

In term of hardware spec, both are very similar except the chipset in H8 is Octa core and U1 is quad core.

I was reading the thread from the 1st page to find some discussion about sports streaming.

But your above comment broke my heart cry.gif cry.gif

Do you mean we cant stream live sports at all ? in my case EPL

my intention was to cancel my Assteruk sports package so i can stream HD Sports with my unify..

movies and series mostly i just download so dont really need movie steaming

But the comments and reviews about H8 looks awesome and its is a must get device to stream movies and series.

i will definitely get one if really can stream live football without any issues.

To be honest I do not want to give empty promise to my customers. You could find some sports but there is no guarantee of service and sport channel could be easily being blocked. However, when one is blocked, new source will be created. You need effort to search, you could find more sport channels from the below link :

if u MUST have EPL, stick with astro which owns supersports.

astro does a good job blocking anyone who tries to hack into it.

can get a bit here and there with diff apps but not reliable, don't count on it.

live sports and live sports telecast is big money - you will not get them for free for long.

Android Smart TV Box is not mean to replace Astro but additional entertainment equipment which could more then Astro :
1). Play media files MP4, MKV, RMVB and etc with full HD resolution and high quality audio codec, 5.1 or 7.1 channel.
2). Transform your TV became Smart TV to browse Internet or email.
3). Works seamlessly as Android phone, down load and play Android Apps or Android Games.
4). Airplay the music from iPhone or iPad to your sound system(Hifi/AV receiver)
5). Share files with PC or vice versa.
6). Online streaming movies and dramas such as PPS & PPTV. P/S: to be noted the available of the free streaming apps is beyond our control, we are unable to guarantee the availability

Yes, our boxes are flash with latest firmware and preinstalled with free streaming apps.

However, to be noted that Netflix is working well with Hinedia but iflix is not compatible with the chipset.

My friend just bought one Ac Ryan Veelo 4k with air mouse today from Lowyat. From the demo it seems it is an essential tool to fully enjoy the tv box experience, although I read in review Veelo having top notch remote control design. So is it highly recommended to get one air mouse to use with H8? Could it be more user friendly than a wireless mouse?

To be more precise, majority of Android apps are designed base on smart phone with touch screen, to optimize the navigation of Android apps, wireless or wired mouse would very much helpful. However, some TV set top box apps are designed for iR remote control via cursor key.

The air mouse combine the function of mouse and cursor plus the keyboard which give the advantages.

However to operate air mouse, you need some time to adapt as to operate gyroscope air mouse is totally different from traditional wireless mouse.

I would not say air mouse is better then traditional mouse,

Sorry for late response, took some time to search and download 10bit sample video.

10bit video can be played via preinstalled Kodi.
