Not sure how Citibank define their online category.
Do you read/have thei campaign TnC?

For PBB, as long as there's an OTP input requested, it is considered as online.
For CIMB, they use POS Mode.

Since Citibank doesn't offer CB for online category on its existing products offering, nobody knows how they define the online swipe.

That option is only meant for when you made payment to your card.
Regarding SMS alert when you swipe your card, SMS alert should be still there if amount swiped is above threshold (default is RM 201).
But their SMS alert is a little handicapped.
